- Susan and i were on a three week holiday to Europe. On the last day we visited the Maritime museum in Lisbon and were blown away with the number of ship models that were on display. Over 400 models along with full size items, artifacts, documents. It was wonderful. Each new room presented a whole new set of models related to the time. If you are a ship model maker you will want to put this visit on your priority list.
You will need a minimum of 2 hours to go through the many rooms in the museum.
Note many of the placement cards containing specific information on models or specific information about the museum came from literature given to us or were taken from information posted near the exhibit.

Thank you, Kevin, for sharing this spectacular video.
Hopefully,, one day I will be lucky enough to visit the Beautiful Maritime museum. Thanks for sharing your footage 👍
WOW! Definitely worth the time to visit! I hope that somewhere on each models display case, they recognized the builders of these exquisite pieces!
@@tomt9543 i did not see any such reference but know that once they know who built the model he/she would be recognized in the research papers and in the formal record. Having toured many museums around the world and met with some of the conservators i found it interesting that in fact many of the builders of these find models are not known. .
@@kevinkenny5122 That’s incredibly unfortunate! Work of that caliber should not go unrecognized!
