Hello mark, you mentioned earlier that you think that gram + bacteria consumes oxygen, well that's not true (lemme explain). You can't determine if a bacteria is an anaerobe or aerobe by looking at this. The reason why we call it + or - is because they have a difference in structural composition of the cell layers. Both bacteria you mention are gram + bacteria (If you meant Lactobacillus and Bacillus subtilis). So you need to look individual at the charts to determine if they are aerobe or anaerobe. So both of them are Facultative (an)aerobic organisms. So this means they can consume oxygen in your tank but also other components, subtilis is known to break down nitrate or nitrite. Reason why I think is , if they flourish in major concentrations, it will affect water values and the cause of death. Hopefully I wasn't mean, but just wanted to point this out to you. Love all your video's. They give so much education!
No not at all mean, I love comments like this because it helps me understand what it is that might be happening in the tank , thank you for the clarification :)
So for anaerobic and aerobic there are for each 3 classes. Obligate anaerobes: which are harmed by the presence of oxygen. Two examples of obligate anaerobes are Clostridium botulinum and the bacteria which live near hydrothermal vents on the deep-sea ocean floor. Aerotolerant organisms,: which cannot use oxygen for growth, but tolerate its presence. Facultative anaerobes: which can grow without oxygen but use oxygen if it is present. Vice versa for aerobic bacteria. Thats why some sorts of anearobic bacteria can live in presence of oxygen as you state above. But for sure facultative anearobics prefer medium without oxygen, but can withstand oxygen. I hope I didnt make it to difficult xd.

Today was my first day using it. Thanks for the video. I didn't mix it in water. some say you can just add it to the top of the water and it will fall. So that's what I did. But next time I will mix it in the water. I only have two 10g shrimp tanks.
Hi Mark - You say the dosage instructions for baxter ae is too strong and you mix enough for all your tanks but I only have a 7 1/2 gallon tank, what would you recommend? Thank you.
Hello Sandy, for that size of tank which is roughly 30 liters I would do no more than an 1/8 of the recommended dose every 2 to 3 days, little is more with shrimp hahaha
I have a question, I use broneo wild bio-film conditioner and they sa one level spoon/100l water. But the problem is that they didnt send any spoon with it, so what shall I use instead and how much to a tank 16l?? And shall I do it everyday?
I think of you every day when I feed - thinking I'm feeding them too much but they always seem so hungry when I feed them though sometimes I do only feed the baby food when I have little ones.

Hello Mark , thanks for the tips I live in Australia and I couldn't find bacter at here. But I did find ST - 01 bacter. It opens the same way yours does, and came with the same scoop. I know less is more.- so I have 64l tank so how much should I feed?
how often do i feed the bee pollen mark.... just had another batch of babies drop overnight n have about 4 more thatll be hatchin within a week or so..... i dont want to foul the water.....
I use spring water with aqueon shrimp essentials I do 1 gallon water change every 2 weeks is there anything else I can do 2 get my shrimp population up I have a 10 gallon with red cherry shrimp an is there another easy shrimp to care for I like Color shrimp not bamboo or amano
Hello so I have a tank with shrimp and fish in it. I just purchased bacter ae and shrimp fit. I've read they are safe for the fish and shrimp. I would use very very little once a week of each 3-4 days apart I have about 5-8 shrimp I plan on getting more soon. I got a good bit but I didnt know I had to have a fully established tank before getting them. Idk exactly how many I have though. I have occasionally done to big of a water change without realizing it would be too much and ended up killing several shrimp. Because my tank isnt cycled yet. And I'm trying to keep ammonia levels as low as I can. It raises about 1ppm in 24 hours. And nitrites are at 0ppm nitrates are at 5ppm every 24 hours. Well idk that a shrimp was molting the next day after my big water change. I do 1-3 big water changes a week and I do a 50% water change every day. The big water changes are I do 59% then once the fish seam fine which is normally right away I do another 50% which then I stop. Idk why but a shrimp which had survived that for weeks just got stuck in his molt and that is the 3rd I've had die that way. Alsoive lost shrimp to predators which are now no longer in my tank. 3 dwarf crawfish and a betta. Now they live in a 10g and my shrimp are in a 20long with other fish. 2 1.5 inchish black molle which dont care about the shrimp I've never seen them try to eat one and I see them near each other all the time. 5 zebra danio , 4 ember tetras and 6 neon tetras. Which I've seen them eat shrimp but only dead ones. Meaning died then the fish got them. I don't want to loss any fish but I need my shrimp to be healthier because all they will eat is what's already in the tank growing. They dont eat algae wafers or pellets I dont even think they eat the left over fish food from feedings.
Nice video like always Mark. I think you Did a video in the past How to increase baby servival rate Or How to feed baby shrimp. Think the mix you used there still Works for me. Bacter ae . I'm just wondering why the manufacturer of Bacter AE put that dosis on the container. Is the high dosage meant for a heavily stocked fishtank or something?
I dont know, I was speaking to some friends about this just this week and even dosing tiny amounts everyday you will see a difference in the shrimps behaviours so I am not sure what its doing to the water.
I use declonirator named Happy-life and i turn the water cloudy and after a couple of hours crystal clear. Does it have montimorillo clay in it? I does not say that it containes montmorillo clay on the bottle. I ask beacuse i had 3 shrimp die after my waterchange. I have used happy-life for along time but this is the first time i hade dosed montimorillo clay with it. My other shrimp tanks are fine only this one had 3 dead. Did i overdose montmorillo clay?

Owe man I just added my Bacter AE last week and it was clumped up😭 but it’s ok this will help with other people ✌🏾😎
But what would u recommend. To get the clumps to dissolve?
Use a protein shaker like you see in my video if you can get one, there is a mesh inside that breaks all the clumps up
Хорошее видео, не много не понял про дозировку.
dosage is very little, So just say I had a 60 liter tank I would only use roughly 1/8 of one of those tiny spoons in that amount of water.
Большое спасибо! Привет из России !
