Now IIT is not a college . It has become a brand . Everybody wants to go there not for knowledge and innovation but for campus life , money and working abroad. Very few go to IIT for knowledge and innovation.

Two years ago,It was my big dream to get a seat in this institute and at a point of time,it felt like this was going to be just a dream and not reality but just continued to give my efforts without losing hope...and finally iam here today,in my dream life.I am so happy and I just love the campus and greenery here 💚

See the difference between SRM and IIT. In SRM college videos they focused only the beauty of college campus and building greatness. But in this IIT video, we can see they focused only the study path and leaning tools.

I was in Alakananda and Cauvery hostels during 1982, 83 years. This top institute enhanced the life of thousands of students every year and we are proud of our government supporting these kind of premiere institutes. I thank my professors, Mahabala, Kalyan Krishnan, Natarajan, Yagna Narayana, Pandu Rangan to name a few.

Beautiful campus, has really transformed from the 80s ;). Reading comments here, I just want to share some thoughts to all the kids, just my perspective as an engineer with 25+ yr industry experience -- good luck to all the aspirants, but if you don't make it, pls pls don't sweat it. There are lot of other good engineering colleges and opportunities. After a couple of years of actual work in the industry, we don't even look at which college you are from. Only your work experience and how you perform in the interview really counts. Top work ethics, good teamwork and communication skills are what are ultimately most valuable. Cheers!

Getting into an IIT is tougher than getting into MIT(USA) which has selection rate of 7 percent whereas IIT Bombay has selection rate of 0. 05 percent🥲🥲

Literally less than 10 students get into mit from India every year. The system of getting into mit is different in comparison to iits.

A very satisfying video it is to watch as an IITM student. I was hoping that NAC comes into the picture. Also, the greenery view from the NAC building to the Guindy National park. Anyway, every shot has been perfectly taken.
I noticed one thing south india is well cleaned and maintained while in north u will find paan ki pichkari on every road 😖
Dude IITs are usually Cool Even if you Look at IIT Kanpur outside Campus you feel like WTF and inside Campus is LIT

Yes it was very good College ,if you're from another private college and when you got pass to enter ,you feel bad about yourself about not making to iit . That was iit . And IIT Madras was life ,there is life in iit .it's called College Life .wherever you don't get that from any college .except big big private college and it's not upto that . Many people outside will earn equal or more than IITs ,but they don't have chance to enjoy the college like IITians . The main important thing in life was college life . And it will only be there in NITs and IITs

@@kichapps When I was in the campus, we had HSB, MSB, ESB, BSB, Work Shop, Administrative Building and The Library.
@@djohn9501 all the '*SB's are still intact, with additional modifications. Library was rebuilt I think. And new buildings line CRC, NAC, Biotechnology, ED Block were built in the academic zone.
It is so amazing that you still have so much attachment about the beloved campus, sir. We love to see older alumni on the channel🙂
i personally respect you a lot D John Sir, ,cuz doing iit in those times was something very very extraordinary as that time only 4 iit's plus limited seats plus no coaching ,you must be a super human ,not like today where any tom dick & harry can do iit as there are iits now sprouting as mushroom tops everywhere as govt wants to make money out if it with lots of seats & with guaranteed pre coaching
Finally a badge of IITian now from this university. Daam those 10hrs study daily now pays off, keen to see all these in real life, not virtually.

@@suhaniphule7775 s,there are several casteist slurs or words in tamil,which Tamilan can only understand,for North Indians ,no problem s at all ,in fact amoung tamil,till now iit madras director and secretary are all tamil Brahmins either a Iyer or iyengar .when we ask about how they selected them, they will not explain it correctly . That's why if u visit iit madras u can hardly find tamil person there eventhough it is in tamilnadu.
