I have binge watched you every day and use your knowledge. I have been on ebay since 1970 so some of the things you put back I yell at you to pick it up. The late 30s and 40s brought in the Mexican style. The walls in most kitchens were painted turquoise. That changed in the 60s when everything for the kitchens were pink and Grey or black. Plastic started showing up in the 60s as kitchen ware. I had 2 fiberglass mixing bowls that came as an add on for detergent. Green stamps bought things like vases and things that people wouldn't buy otherwise. They also put glasses and full sets of China one piece at a time in soap boxes. There would be lines in the 50s when a new piece of the set was in the boxes. I was in retail when I was 14 at a 5 and dime store. I see so many of the pieces that were sold back then. Imports weren't the thing because it was post war and they were trying to build the economy. Every town had their industrial centers. I see so many things that I have had in my life time. I even see things that were lost and never seen again. I have so much history in my head. The college kids love to hear how we lived back then. I need to get a little more organized before I get back on ebay. I think you, the kids and Andrew are delightful. I'm 80 years old and have no family near by. So it takes me a little longer to do things, but I get by. ❤🧡💚
I work in a furniture & accessories consignment shop, and we tell customers to use a hair dryer to loosen and remove our price stickers from items that are painted (if they're afraid to use Windex or GooGone). Might help with the packing tape, too.
I am fond of Avon but it’s because I remember us buying the cars with cologne every year for Father’s Day. He never wore the cologne but he collected the car bottles
A lot of times, I see items that are crazily over priced. If I want it I will usually take the item to the manager and ask them, “what the heck is this?” - they usually see the problem and accommodate me. ♥️
Happy Birthday, Walter!🥳🎉🎊🤣😊 Nice haul, Jocelyn. FYI, the flowers you thought might be lilacs are actually "grape" hyacinths - grape for their purple color. There are also hyacinths in pink, white, yellow and periwinkle blue. 😊
The amber color ashtray you passed at 9:30 are going for about $25-$30!! I've been trying to buy vintage ones like that, so I was shocked to see the prices so high.... Just FYI 😊😊❤️❤️✌️✌️
About the tape on the Swedish candle sticks- I think that heating the tape a little bit with a hair drier will melt the glue so you'd be able to get it off without damaging the paint.
Hey Jocelyn and Dagny….went to 7-11 today to get some coffee ( cuz I’m not that bougee ) and the clerk told me how much I owed him and yup I pulled out my cash and said “ here you go…3 doll hairs”🤣😂 I knew it would happen eventually! Thanks guys🤪
I'm about 99% sure that the bowl at the 5:55 mark (beige with orange and blue markings) is sold by the subscription box Globein. It's called the Berber Ceramic Bowl, and they sell it for $33.00
Re: Tape removing paint on item- To avoid pulling paint off wooden, or other items, turn your blow dryer on high, aim at tape. As it heats, the sticky side heats/melts and you can pull tape away easily. Great way to remove stick on price tags too.
About that tape… to take kid’s bandaids off, I pull up a corner and work in oil (any kind - baby, olive, vegetable) along the exposed edge as I slowly pull the bandaid back. No pain, no tears ☺️ I’m wondering if this would work for that packaging tape too, as long as the oil will wash off. Risky on a porous surface. Just a thought.
Your first item is a bagel that is supposed to hold a tub of cream cheese. It comes on a platter so it sits in the center and you can s place the bagels around the cream cheese.
The colorful blue forest painting (14:21) is a super popular color and style for a mid-century room....!!! ❤️❤️❤️ You wouldn't have any trouble re-selling..... (Also cool paperweights; seriously, we'll buy them!! 🤓🤓🤓
Happy Birthday Walter! I loved the glass jellyfish. I get excited when they bring the tubs out. 🤗Painting of the trees was neat and of course “The Last Supper.” Paint by numbers. I liked the little gold bear too. You and Andrew are so cute together. I thought that it was sweet the way he made you laugh.💜
Happy Birthday to Walter. Hope all of you had a great celebration. Andrew was too funny, had me laughing out loud. Thanks for another fun and informative video.
Look.for the garishly bright Poole Pottery from the 1960's/1970's - very collectable. The best pieces of Poole are the vases from the 1930's/1940's - stylized flowers made from brush strokes - these can be sold for good money.
Lovely video, that goodwill was more like mine, a hit or miss not packed like the ones you get to usually get to go to. Hope you all had a lovely birthday with Walter🎂
I think that Brass Bear with the red eyes might hold to acrylic pieces to hold the picture in the frame because you said it was heavy I don't think it's wide enough to hold cards but I could be wrong
Next time grab that fabric! Lol a bolt of fabric sells nicely. The other fabric under the bolt, that was a yard of fabric. Oh and Party Light sells real well. Anything sewing gets bought, especially fabric and certain sewing machines bring in big bucks. Love your videos. It's hard to watch and not able to point out stuff.
Typical small Swedish Christmas candle holders. Usually red but blue is othe new! Hand made, do not know value though. Have same that are like 60-70 years old. Helena Stockholm
I agree. I know Andrew is super busy but love these cameo appearances. Just wish we could get more.... like a flea-market takeover or maybe another tour of his booth.
00:36 Maybe it's supposed to be a macaron. 01:19 It's a commemorative from the opening of the Mon-Fayette Expressway, named after Sen. Barry Stout (D-Bentleyville), legislative kingmaker when it came to Pennsylvania road-building. Stout said at the time he appreciated PennDOT naming the highway in his honor "while I'm still vertical." 08:50 Swedish bento box. 12:37 I know it's miles outa yer wheelhouse, but the Scrabble game looks like an original Selchow & Righter edition, before 1970 and maybe before 1960. 20:37 Well, he's still worth a look. Most of the Palace Resorts are in Cancún, so I'd venture that he came from there. And an alabaster indigenous mask for the tourist trade, NOT disfigured by a souvenir mark, and $12.50 originally? ... Yeah, why not.
I can't believe all the .99 and 1.99 items you always seem to see. The GWs near me are "too proud" of their items. I never find anything marked less than 3.99 and most items are even more 😳 !!

You go girl! I admire your memories and your spunk! ❤️❤️❤️
@@pattihuesken9583 thank you
Maybe write a book for resellers or just people in general.
Our way of everyday life is fast disappearing and memories like yours is all that is left.
There was no ebay in 1970. They started in 1995. Did you mean to say flea markets?
I remember so many things like that, too.
Happy birthday Walter. Everyone give a thumbs up for him! Andrew is a character...Good haul today.
I work in a furniture & accessories consignment shop, and we tell customers to use a hair dryer to loosen and remove our price stickers from items that are painted (if they're afraid to use Windex or GooGone). Might help with the packing tape, too.
I buy the 99 cent ones for cake plates to give (with a cake )as gifts!
That big amber ashtray is the size that fits the cigarette /ash tray stands from the 40s and 50s. I have my grandfathers
Yes! I am looking for one that size to fit my stand. I think there were two of them in that video.
I am fond of Avon but it’s because I remember us buying the cars with cologne every year for Father’s Day. He never wore the cologne but he collected the car bottles
I inherited hundreds of the Avon bottles and have no idea what to do with them... 🙄🙄🙄
They're living in my garage😆😆😆
@@Christie-cz7tc 😳if I were you I would leave them right were they are and wait for Avon to be popular again.
@@wmwilkinson1 sounds great... I'm your girl when it comes to procrastinating 😂😂😂
Loved the last supper painting

Yea, a Goodwill video! Wish everyone did voice overs like you!
Love your response to 9.99 plate, "trippin". I say that a lot at those stores. Lol. Glad it was a hit!
Happy Birthday, Walter!🥳🎉🎊🤣😊
Nice haul, Jocelyn. FYI, the flowers you thought might be lilacs are actually "grape" hyacinths - grape for their purple color. There are also hyacinths in pink, white, yellow and periwinkle blue. 😊
“Be trippin’” 😂 that tickled me.. happy belated bday Walter.

How nice was that employee, “Do you like old stuff?” Don’t you wish they were all that helpful? 🥰
Happy Birthday Walter!
The canister set looks “hobby made “ to me!
The brass mouse/bear thingy is for business cards on a desk.
It looks more like a match holder to me. Looks to small for a card holder.
About the tape on the Swedish candle sticks- I think that heating the tape a little bit with a hair drier will melt the glue so you'd be able to get it off without damaging the paint.
Hi from Ann uk say happy birthday to Walter lv Ann

It looks like a sesame bagel with cream cheese!

ZThat was very plain for Poole pottery, there stuff is usually very bright reds and orange colours. I think that you would like it.
Hi Jocelyn. Loved the fairy figurine. and the floral bowl. Thank you for your channel I'm learning quite a lot from you about antiques. Marie

Agreed! Great painting!
Excellent trip!! Always enjoy watching you and your journeys
Loved your haul! But...I used to live in N Mexico, and would have bought that cliff dwelling clay pot in a second!
Yep, me too! Current New Mexican!

I would have bought the Mon/Fayette expressway plate my husband helped build the bridges along that stretch of Western PA road.

I think that one thing was a bagel with cream cheese, not a hamburger/donut. 😆
Oh! Loved the Lefton doll too!
Happy happy birthday 🎂🎉🎂🎉 Walter
I would have purchased the rocking chair for myself!
Those white containers that look like snow are from Dollar General. It was part of their Christmas collection. The price tag is the DG tag.
Happy Birthday Walter 🎂💜🎉🥳
I loved the Goodwill Video. I liked the snack container and the canister set. I liked the picture you bought.
Happy Birthday, Walter! Hope you had a great day! 🥳
Those small green cups look like they would go with that green set you just bought recently, with the decanter!
DEFINITELY need to celebrate Walter's birthday!! 🎆🌟💖
That picture with the blue in it was really nice.🌺
Well, I was going to say it's good to see Andrew...that is until he pressed his face against the window. What a nut!

Andrew is awesome! What a great trip to goodwill!!
We need more Andrew!!!
Birthday wishes for Walter!
Wow!!! So much stuff for only $45?! What a fun trip!
Do you use a blow dryer to loosen the tape first? Might help with things like the candle sticks.
