Highly underrated game gang. I kept coming back to it recently at the local arcade. Very risk vs reward type of shots (satisfying when you hit them) but plan on getting it in my collection one day. Great vid!
One thing so sure. I really love the LE's translight. One of the best ones I've seen. I think the code needs to be improved and then maybe this will be a winner for me
When this pin released, the limited contracts were doing a lot of heavy lifting. Without them, the flaws in the code and playfield start to stand out. To place the bash toy and captive ball in the same place was some kind of choice. To make both activate a multiball was another choice. The player has no explicit agency when selecting jobs. Sure, last shot hit, but you don't know that walking up to the machine. You also don't know which shot aligns with which faction. And the shot layout is already so fast and punishing that to have to shoot a shot to qualify for a certain job... to shoot more shots, well, that's super punishing. Everything about the pin is otherwise top notch: the music, sound design, playfield art, lighting, colors, callouts, animations, and yet, next to any other modern stern, I found myself going back to other machines. Again, I love the frenetic and super fast gameplay, but there's not enough wow moments to bring me back. Granted, I'm only a novice player, but I don't see the pros returning to it either.
Love the passion you guys put into this game! The LE is beautiful, tough but really brings out the John Wick vibe! Well done guys! Also love these making off videos!
The footage at 9:16 of a live cat sitting on the whitewood with a ball rolling around but no mention of it in the narration is torturous to us cat lovers! 😝
@STERN The design team missed out on some kind of sharp shooter hand cannon mech that can shoot a locked ball-or multiple balls if you want to risk trying to lock several balls into mech which would then rotate left to right when initiated to allow player to shoot any shot or shots across the shot array since this game is a fan layout! huge missed opportunity! 😢 I create mech ideas and toy concepts durring my spare time. Looking for new work aside from being a maintenance technician/welder for my local kcup production facility.
The layout is fantastic, fast and flows well. The main let down in the game is gun gate and the fact that, despite the designer being a mechanical engineer, the game lacks a wow toy on the playfield……..heck it lacks any toys! Additionally the game lacks soul, there are no pinball moments or call outs that make you feel something. Look forward to playing the most recent code updates.
The club area is a huge waste of space. Nobody wants a section that big dedicated to something with no player control. It feels like WWE Superstars all over again. No room for wasted space in modern, expensive gaming
@sternpinball Why is there background music to this, or any of your "making of" videos? It just detracts from what we're trying to hear. C'mon... Nobody needs generic background music on a video like this. We just want to hear the natural sounds... or, perhaps, NO SOUND AT ALL, other than the person speaking. ;)
I think the design is great, and the game is fun to play. The code just definitely needs to improve on this one for it to be a winner in my opinion.
Wow, so surreal to have John Wick himself play the pinball and see his reaction to all that design and work to make it.
Awesome video! Thanks for the behind the scenes look at the making of it!
Great video… This game is so fast, that makes it fun but also quite difficult.

No interview with the main artist for the cabinet? Meant him at the Northwest Pinball Convention, really nice guy!
He's literally in the video?

These "making of" need to be released closer to the game release.

It’s a fantastic pinball!
Charlie's the man.
It's a terrific layout. Really fun to play. Hope the code can evolve yet.

Very cool
Keanu was just featured in the Toy Story 4 Pinball. Now. This and someday he will definitely be in The Matrix Pinball. That's a career!
Don’t forget Johnny Mnemonic and Bram Stokers Dracula
Agreed, the pinball credits are definitely the highlights of an amazing career!
have we done the matrix already? another Keanu Reeves film and what about 'speed' ? lol Point Break ? we have the Bram Stoker's Dracula.

One of the biggest disappointments in recent pinball.
