There's alot of inaccuracies in this videos regarding Putin's early history.

That fact doesn't serve his narrative.
He seems somewhat biased. Idk Putin’s endgame but as an American and decent human being; I really can’t blame him for not wanting to fall in line with the US or being tired of having the US constantly hold Russia down.
@@hopefernandez3770 By "Holding Russia down," you mean not allowing them to continue to invade, destroy, and steal the land of the sovereign nations around him? The Russian propaganda machine is exposed and it's expiration date is showing.

There's no real need to mention it, since this promise was never made.
there was no such promise.
also, putin has done a really really good job at making other countries WANT to be a part of nato 😂

and since we could kick their ass why would we even say something so dumb?
Nice one propagandist, this promise never happened
Would love to see a non bias take...
Cheers for the heads up
Thank you. I've been curious about Putin. I'm an American honestly getting tired of, "Orange man bad," "Putin bad" propaganda. I find Putin intriguing. I started researching him and from what I've learned he seems like a man who loves God and His country. Nobody is perfect but I love manly men as God designed and he's one! You're off on his early history. Putin got sent to Dresden specifically because he was not outstanding among his peers at the KGB. The more favored roles were in Leningrad and Moscow. If you were sent to a different country, you wanted to be in the capitol, not a secondary city. At this point in his career, Putin was somewhat floundering. It wasn't until the fall of the wall and him standing down the crowd outside the embassy that we get the first idea that this guy is maybe a little more than meets the eye.
Absolutely agreed. Putin viewed (views?) his placement in Germany as a major black eye. He never wanted the defensive counterintelligence role. He wanted to do the really high level work that was based out of Moscow & Leningrad.

That line "world wars have been started over less" is a classic! Seeing as there's only been two world wars, lets check that. WWI: The immediate trigger for the war was the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary on June 28, 1914, in Sarajevo, Bosnia, by a Serbian nationalist named Gavrilo Princip. WWII: Germany invaded the sovereign nation of Poland after repeatedly committing acts of aggression against other sovereign nations and abandoning the limitations imposed after WWI.

How do "dummy" torpedoes detonate, prematurely or otherwise?
Huh?
I have no clue but maybe the engines which push them through the water malfunctioned leading to an explosion?
As far as I know, the assumed theory is that the fuel mixture of the torpedo exploded. The explosives themselves are rather inert as long as there is no sufficient detonator, but the fuels are highly volatile and reactive. A simple leak and contact with a wrong material can cause a runaway reaction, maybe not a detonation but a very fast deflagration, which in a confined space becomes an explosion by itself.

I grew up in a communist-leaning family so it's hard for me to not be biased towards Russia if that makes any sense. I often find myself falling into fanatism and I always try to correct that tendency. Having that said I don't think it's entirely accurate to say that the Ukraine war is Russia vs Ukraine. I'd argue it's already a World War albeit by proxy. The amount of support Ukraine is receiving from many countries around the globe is astounding and I'm sure Russia is getting more help than what they'd like to admit. The whole situation is concerning because it's very close to being a direct confrontation just like in the old days. I can only wish a direct confrontation never happens.
Yea, it's easy for me not to be biased towards an authoritarian government actively committing genocide

As an American who loves his country, there’s no doubt in my mind that this is a proxy war between East and West. It was provoked on both sides and I won’t legitimize my presidents solution to the invasion. I wouldn’t even legitimize biden as a leader. Maybe in a better world where we have a coherent president there could of been a diplomatic route or at least a cease fire.
Finally one that can actually understand both sides. The thing is, you'd only get this mindset if you were brought up on the Eastern Bloc. NATO idealists don't even try to understand Russia. I'm surprised they are so afraid of Russia given how small Russia's economy is, but still resillient that couldn't get crippled by sanctions.
The whole "Free" world is backing Ukraina and as of today there's only 23 million people left there. Not to mention America stopped their financial aid as they ran out of money. haha.

An interesting video touching on many events in Russia. But very often some events are not disclosed, for example, conspiracy theories about “Ryazan Sugar”, a submarine (the question was asked immediately after the joke and in the original it is clear how almost immediately Putin begins to talk about it seriously), about the causes of the war in Georgia, when Russian UN peacekeeping troops were attacked first by Georgian troops. An interesting video containing a lot of useful information, but the one-sidedness of the position and all these missed moments created specifically to show Putin in a certain light are very noticeable.
And when I talk about missed moments in the video, I don't mean a small number, there are a lot of them throughout the entire video. Living literally in the modern agenda of Russia, living through some of these moments in real time and having been on opposite sides of the barricades, all this, as if a special understatement, is very noticeable. One minor issue about the NATO membership countries under Clinton. There was no “idealism” with Clinton but simple politics. What we now know from State Department communications during 1995-1996 was that Clinton was basically forced to admit Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic. Poland threatened to develop nuclear weapons and the others appeared with John McCain and threatened to campaign against Clinton in 1996. Clinton tried to assuage Yeltsin, and didn’t announce the news until Yeltsin won the election. Ultimately, it was political expediency that lead to the NATO membership.

His view, has a lot of truth in it, but it left a lot out, and it is also very one sided. This is one view on the matter. But if you believe that this is completely objective and without any bias then you are naive my friend. I am not a fan of Russia, and sure as hell against their criminal war in Ukraine. But that should not be an excuse for being complacent and letting yourself being pulled in a one-sided biased view and pointing the finger at Russia for everything bad and wrong. I understand that it is emotional and that it is comfortable to see Putin and Russia in auch a way, as evil. But we have to ask ourselves is this really the objective truth, or is there more to the story. I am not a geopolitical expert but I am well read on this topic. I for one believe that the matter is much more complex than presented here. I believe that the US foreign policy, military industrial complex and Nato played a role in estranging Russia in order to build them up as their enemy once again. I think that it is naive to believe that the West did nothing wrong and just wanted a democratic Russia and help the surrounding countries without any ulterior motives or agenda. That they never did anything to antagonize the Russians but tried to help them the best they could. I cannot believe that especially after reading "the grand chessboard" by Brezinski the former foreign policy adviser of many presidents and chief architect (with Kissinger) of Americas strategy for the late cold war and after, among other reputable books and authors. Please research the topic more in depth to get a more nuanced and objective perspective on the matter, instead of those one-sided biased views clearly with an agenda. I am not saying you should not watch channels like this one, but you should be knowledgeable in order to understand where they are coming from/where their bias lies/what they are leaving out (on purpose or because of bad/superficial research). There are so many channels talking about geopolitics with authority even though they hardly read one book about it but just repeating mainstream media talking points. There are many really knowledgeable and good channels/authors out there, please check them out. If you are really interested in understanding/getting a grip on the matter you should start by reading the book I mentioned above; "The grand chessboard" by Brezinski. That is a good introduction into the psyche of the US/Western foreign policy elites and their strategy to deny Russia any power and remain the undisputable global superpower. For all the critics saying that I am somehow anti-American, I can assure you I am not. I am in favour of US global dominance. I am a realist, so I see the benefits but also the problems/failures of politicians/industries/agencies and I cannot be in favour of a one-sided analysis whereby the entire responsibility is given to the other side without any reflection what so ever. That I cannot do.

@@user-bq8id1qv1qRus isn't russia. The fact that peter I proclaimed empire and renamed his country to russia in 18th century after annexing Ukraine (Rus lands) doesn't make russia Rus. It's another imperialistic historical revisionism from russia politics.

we do indeed not that this guy didn't discredit himself the second he said that putin is responsible for destabilizing the world while being from the country that withdrew from the anti ballistic missile treaty and is edging nuclear war for money all while gaslighting Russia by saying that they (the russians) are responsible for the breakdown of global order at the same time Russia itself was willing to negotiate the entire way through this ordeal so long as it meant that Ukraine couldn't join nato of course probably not any more now that the Russians are winning
@@kfchundur4087 Except that the "negotiation" from the Russian side right before the Ukraine invasion consisted of demanding for NATO forces to leave all of Eastern Europe. The demands were deliberately unrealistic, so that Putin could invade while keeping the pretext of being willing to negotiate.
Yeah, for those who know more of the history of the Russia-Ukraine war, this video conveniently omits America's role in the 2014 coup that provoked the war.
Tell me more
Pretty interesting look at what this guy shaped up to be through connections being so damn strong, just shows you. Also out of curiosity, song at 35:20, anyone got a name? Heard this before being used on numerous war videos. Great video!
I was born in Leningrad (but was living in both Russia and Ukraine until 10 years old), and I lived in Leningrad/Saint-Petersburg, where Putin is from, for 27 years before leaving Russia for good. I was in middle school when houses were blowing up, and you can guess throughout all my life I was watching very closely into Putin, his circle and everything related to it because it had direct impact on my life. Video is very good, even though to really dig into Putin and understand him, can't really put everything into 1 hour, would require series with at least 10 hours of intense coverage. In short, Putin is the sleekest phony in the world. He is all about career through treachery, his deep connection to the criminal world / Russian mafia that indeed is still ruling the country with him as the head. We can see how he is getting more and more delusional, unlike his Chinese counterpart Xi. Putin's invasion into Ukraine was his fatal mistake. Idk why I suddenly felt the desire to share it personally with you, maybe because I was not sure, what you meant exactly saying : "just shows you" (?) Could you be so kind to elaborate, what exactly did you meant. Is it shows us that connections are the most important to get into power? Or maybe more than just that. Thank you in advance, looking forward to your reply.

32:57 the moment when I realize you don’t understand what are you talking about and just reading the text
The funny thing is given all that he has done I still don’t disagree with most of what he says about the West. It’s not like they have clean hands either if we’re honest.
When your a powerful nation sometimes you have to do what you have to do. Even when it’s horrific and most who haven’t seen combat or what goes on behind the scenes will react badly to it. Understandably though. This world isn’t unicorns and fairy dust, bad things happen. Sometimes for the worse and sometimes for the good. Pick your poison. I agree that the US can be just as brutal. Every empire throughout history has done some messed up things to maintain power. Especially China and Japan. Their war was brutal.
Life really has always been and always will be a big game of pick your poison. Yes, every empire and even every state or really any larger collective organsiation does evil things. The difference between "The West" and countries like Russia or China is "The West" will use violence to coerce people into unfavorable deals, whereas Russia will slaughter a population and loot their remains wholesale. As seen in the current conflict.
China is a bit more inspired by the American way in their international dealings, but is also fully committed to violently quelling any form of dissent. In my view of history these kinds of approaches work very well, moreso nowadays with today's technology and avenues of control, but I doubt it can work longterm. Might be wrong though. Can't say for sure.
But the Russian way is absolutely a dead-end to my eyes. As much as Ukraine may be a walking zombie - and a last line of defense before the biggest war in history - propped up by Western influence, Russia due to the unsuccessful nature of the "military operation" has fully transitioned into a puppet of the CCP. Russia is completely and utterly dependent on Chinese influence, and even the deal with Kim Jong-Un is just a Chinese arms deal in disguise.
@@YaBoyJakaLilJ yea but western media uses the "you cant invade other countries" card which is never used against America obviously, thats just so hypocritical and laughable. The West and Russia both get up to skulduggery. But Russia continually makes a strong case against the West's actions (betrayal of UN charter, etc), whereas the US state dept just come across as imbeciles talking put of their arses
