  • If the release cable for the rear of the roof snaps or becomes disconnected, the rear locating pin can be released by using a small tool to manually ease the catch out of the way.

What a Rube Goldberg mechanism this locking system is. I did get everything working using the technique in this video. After, a buddy of mine and I installed a failsafe work around should if this ever happen again. I attached a string to the center pin release and ran it back into the trunk. Now, if it ever gets stuck again, I have a manual release alternative!

You’re a legend. I just got this car and couldn’t work it out why it wouldn’t release. Thanks for sharing 🙏

What tool are you using to open the stuck pin?

It’s a tool out of mini pick and hook set. A thin screwdriver might also work. Just got to be thin enough to get in between the latch and the hole. Rolson 59133 4 pc Pick and Hook Set amzn.eu/d/c2J7uLZ
