But they don’t have pupils it’s a red dot with wires it doesn’t have extremely advanced brain powers coloring it’s just a red dot that a droid was built for battle it didn’t have thousands and millions of years to learn and evolve so it would probably be like extreme extreme echo location like looking through a thermal scope
@@justsomeberd7407 they do have extremely advanced brain powers to use the data for battle though which wouldn't be categorically different from our brains imo. Also throughout the evolutionary stages of the eye there are a few stages without a pupil as well (like Nautilus).

What I love about the droideka: it's a rolling circle of Death that sounds awesome.
50-droidekas were too expensive to produce so the federation pay the manufacturers in meat and food for their droidekas.that is why they are the cheapest reinforcement of the cis ;)

The droids could possibly shoot through their shields by irising them just enough to shoot through and then close them up after. This is how the Covenant ships fired their weapons in the Halo universe. (This is mentioned in the Halo movie; Halo: Fall of Reach at 54:44)

In response to how a droideka fires through his shield: I honestly think the droidekas can adapt to a situation so when the shield needs to be used heavily they can have their blaster outside of the shield just a little bit, but in other cases I would go with the second option which is that the ray shield only works on one side. Having them turn the shield of and on every time they fire just seems too unlikely and complicated for this already super complicated droid. But hey that's my opinion.

I've never heard in Star Wars that you can shoot through your own shields. This might explain why all kinds of Laserturrets are so vulnerable as seen in many movies, because they have to stick out. If I remember correctly, the space battle in beginning of EP3 also shows that the manually operated guns inside the ships are sticking out of their shielded windows.
6:40 colicoids actually created a version of the droideka that was kind of like itself. Extremely powerful, a droideka on steroids. I was disappointed it wansn't in here.

The droideka's blaster muzzles do stick out in Battlefront II. If you shoot at them while their shield is active, you will do damage both to their shield and HP bar.
Whoever designed the original Droideka (the concept artist) is an absolute genius, and I hope he got a pay raise!!!! It takes an Intellectual to design a fantasy character keeping real-world physics in mind, and still make it look cool and Iconic!

In the Clone Wars Onderaan Arc, Captain Rex explains a certain way that the Droideka shield works and the two specific weaknesses it so possesses. One is, as told here is that it is very vulnerable from attacks of the rear, however, grenades can as well pierce the Droideka shield if rolled with a certain volocity under the shield. The Shields are meant to withstand higher volocity objects, that of blaster fire and even rockets, but a simple droid popper or thermal detonator work much better in comparison to an Ion grenade is simply destroying the whole of the droideka through the shield (should you have the skill). Roll it too fast, and the grenade is repelled same as any old blaster; roll it too slow, and it may not even get to the shield. This is the same principle that allows a lightsaber to cut through it without trouble and at that, any other melee weapon.

As for the shield blaster question, the smartest explanation would be that each droidika has a unique shielding frequency, witch when the blasters fire at the same frequency, the blaster fire goes through.
That's general SCFI though, not really anything from starwars, except maybe when The Skyguys go to endorse and need clearance codes (could be the frequency that the shield is at)
In the Endor mission, they needed clearance codes because they are a form of password that you broadcast to the station; if you fail to send the proper code, they just shoot you out of the sky.
One thing I love, in battlefront 2, 2005. If you 'sprint' as a rolling droideka, you can actually slightly damage and knock others over for a moment if you run into them.

The Droideka Oppressor has mortar blasters that shoot big purple fire ball looking things. They are not just heavy blasters.
There were several different versions, and the "default" variant had multiple power settings on its blasters. The lighter setting is the one you see the most, higher rate of fire and lower energy consumption. Ideal for large numbers of infantry, who are unlikely to have armor thick enough to withstand the bolts from this setting. The highest setting is powerful enough to punch through the armor on most armored airspeeders, but the rate of fire is most lower and the energy consumption makes this setting unfit for extended use. I imagine it also wears out the guns themselves, too.

"radiation sensors" are just fancy words for eyes. Droidekas have eyes. Your eyes see radiation, but only a certain spectrum of it we call "visible light". Droidekas probably see in infrared in order to detect lifeforms but would also still need to detect physical objects in order to move. I'm sure they can do this in infrared as well, the only special thing about infrared is that carbon based lifeforms glow.
Droidika is insane with hallways, you can shoot through the hallways, and when you go on the separatists base as a droid, there’s that one hallway by the reactor that everyone’s shooting down, and droidika is great because there’s always those two commandos that are throwing smoke bombs down so the enemy can’t see you, so you turn your shield on and overload those puppies, and it’s also great for using evreything at the same time, then rolling behind “BLAST DOOR” so you can quickly recharge, then surprise the clones by coming back out and overloading those puppies.
50. Droideka shields are velocity disruptors meaning anything going at a face pace will be stopped on impact of the shields but anything stationary or slow moving can enter the shield via absorption (ex: so lightly tossing a detonator into the shield will give a the chance to destroy the Droid.)
The droidekas’ shield cannot stop slow objects in movement (as we can see in clone wars)
the shields are built to deflect things moving fast, clones were able to roll a thermal detonator slowly and it would go right through the shield, there was an episode on that in the clone wars somewhere

Lego Star Wars Droidekas are OP. They can withstand anything, it takes a couple of hits for a lightsaber to disable the shield, same goes for any weapons. They could also sense enemies from behind.

in the gameplay the muzzles are outside of the shield. i once landed a lucky shot on one of them with an c2-ion blaster wich are extremly powerful at taking them out.
You are able to stick your blaster through the shield of an droideka and shoot it like rex did in the geonosis episode of tcw, while standing on the fortress of the droids in the canyon.
The shields are permeable from one side, so you can shoot through them. Shields on capital ships work the same way, the shields only stop things from outside the shield, on the opposite side from the projector. The Gungan shields stop high-speed objects and energy, which is why the AATs couldn't penetrate the shield and the battle droids walked right through them.

Lego also made a Technic Droideka back in 2000 that transforms just like the 'real' one, is quite impressive even by today's standard.

Here’s a fun one. After the war, all the other battle droids were shut down because they were, essentially, useless. The droidekas were allowed to remain functional so that the galaxy could be introduced to a new sport. Bowling. Funny enough, all those shut down B1 battle droids made ideal pins.

You can bamboozle a player in BF2 by running up to them and either violently punching it to death. Or you can barrel stuff them and shoot through their shield.

The difference between the P, Q, and W series Droidekas may be more internal, like bigger powerpacks, better tibanna routing, maybe more efficient designs for the blasters.

I think it can shoot inside it's shield the same way some other things can shoot through their sheild, it was just able to do that on the Phantom menace cause that's just how they made it

Well, maybe you didn’t know that the deadliness of droidekas caused the empire to use them for training. The deactivated ones were recovered and shipped to academies and ships to be used as both guards and training droids like the ones found on Kamino, also the bronzium(basically Star Wars space bronze) was used specifically to help defend the droideka against blaster fire while rolling. Obviously the sides are still vulnerable, but the armor used by the sniper variant was only different in shape, and function as it curled up to form a shield. It was the same thickness and material as the standard variant though, so theoretically, if you, in universe, shot a droideka head on in the armor, though this would be a stupid decision and also hard to do, it would just bounce off the armor. Also, the spine of the droideka was actually made up of power packs/tibana gas cartridges (blaster ammo, but not sure which exactly it was, cartridges or power packs) used to fuel the blasters. It worked like the bullet belts on a machine gun almost, as each cartridge was depleted it would switch to the next one. It was changed to this shape so they could use less materials, as they needed a place to store the “ammo” and they needed a spine. So they just used a little reinforcement and used them AS the spine. Again I’m not sure if it was cartridges or power packs, I’m leaning towards power packs, but it was the primary source of power for the guns, the reactor needing to be used for the shields. Geestly’s made a whole video about the droidekas, as it would be better to go there to learn more about what I’ve described, as my exact details are somewhat hazy.
The oppresor shot purple blasts that were identical to Iden's secondary fire in both look and physics and the sentinel was much faster but was weaker and shot fast regular dual blaster bolts.
The thing that I like about the droidekas is the design that is why it is my favorite character

2:30 It took one hit, because Jar Jar got lucky and hit to the one of the
few weak spots. It has armor that is pretty good. But it doesn't work in battlefront. That brownish is armor. Gray isn't covered in armor, so hitting there it will problably get destroyed. That's why even when they are rolling, they aren't killed so easily. They go to ball that has armor almost everywhere, and it spins so fast, it is almost impossible to shoot then. Maybe the best time to hit them, (if we don't think that you are playing battlefront) is when they deploy from ball to attack mode. That's how Jar Jar killed one.

Ok I have to edit this. Normal droideka has same kind of weakness, but it is in center of it. That sniper droideka has maybe same type of armor than normal droideka, but it is in back of normal roller. So normal droidekas are made so that enemy coming from behind, can't destroy that so easily. It easiest to destroy from front, but while there is coming fast blaster fire, hitting to center of droideka isn't so easy. And games aren't made so accurately (I understand it would be too much) they can be destroyed easily from anywhere when their shield is off.
