- It's been four years since I flew an airliner in real life. To announce the next plane I'll be flying, I thought it would be cool to try it out in MSFS first, but what a disaster that turned out to be!

I can only hope someday that I sit in a plane while traveling and go "Wait...why the hell does this pilot sound familiar?" and realize it's you, Casmo or some other RUclipsr I watch.

Looks like I got it right! :D The 787 is my 2nd favorite aircraft for long haul flights. Love the windows.

@@JimNortonsAlcoholism lol, OK. Emirates A380 first class/business class with the shower and tail bar does kinda make you overlook the difference that the cabin pressure and humidity on the 78 give you on a 15+ hour flight 😉

We didn't die, we ended up in the right city and we're safely at the gate - SUCCESS! My only complaint is the peanuts were stale.
Good luck on your new type Mover! Flew this plane for a year, you’ll find it a huge leap from the 737, but amazingly fun to fly.. Especially to the places it will take you!

Seems to be a common thing with real airline pilots trying MSFS not all the functions are up to speed. Kelsey from 74 had about the same experience when he flew it the first time. I think the difference in cabin altitude pressure with the 787 will be far more enjoyable than the 737
a lot of it is making sure you go into the settings and disable all the assists otherwise it treats you like a 9 year old on an xbox. as much as i like the graphics on FS20, i ended up going back to xplane.

When you did your little go around recital on the last episode and you said flaps 20, I knew it was the 787. Have fun, I just moved to a wide body fleet and it’s so much easier than the narrow body fleet I was on.

Episode 69 in which the jet is smarter than mover XD Also if you want to try a nice implementation of the 777 which is fairly similar in the cockpit to the 787 the flightgear simulator which is free and open source has quite a nice one.

FS2004 ATC is pretty weak, but FS20 ATC drives me up the damn wall.

Mover, just like the 73, if you’re below 10k use FLC to get down until you’re cleared the approach.

Captain, at some point I will relax associated muscles and detach from this jump seat. FO Luna recommends we visit the airport bar, evaluate our options.
Also VATSIM is a really awesome way to fly online. That would be cool seeing you fly the pmdg 737 on vatsim or dreamliner?

A very bad move there Mover, with a 787 you are severely outgunned and outturned by Gonky at the next dogfight!
The A320 is lighter and will outturn that fat 787 in a turnfight :D
Maybe, but the 320 will never get high enough to compete, and the 787 has more loiter time then a Mudhen.

F18 pilot taking off in airliner....tail strike inevitable LOL. Don't listen to the built-in ATC, they are not smart sometimes. Good job though!

Hey Mover, I know you don't fly MSFS often, but the default ATC and ground handing is trash....I wouldn't use the ATC at all (you could use one of the live ATC networks if you feel like dealing with that) and you should certainly look into getting GSX for your ground handling.

Interesting, good luck! It might be worth checking out the PMDG 777 as well since it's really good and afaik most things overlap with the 787, including type-rating.
For us, they’re separate type ratings.

Training to fly the Plastic Princess! At least that is what Stig Aviation guy who is a maintenance tech for AA at LAX calls the 787, 'cause most of the airframe is composite. My goodness I have not yet tried MSFS I only fly with Xplane, but watching your video the motion, the flight model and a host of other things appear terribly modeled. If you want procedures, flight model and an ATC that works, go back to Xplane. 12.1 is out now and it's far superior in the areas that count for realism. Yes the ground graphics are not as good, but would you rather drive a real Porsche that has a faded and scratched body, or a shiny fiberglass replica body of a Porsche on a VW bug chassis? The former is how Xplane performs and the latter is Mircosloth. There is an excellent payware 787-9 for Xplane. In any event, good luck on your training and keep the blue side up!
