This year was good Philippines is great and the pre lim winner ( had a bad fall in pre lims or rehearsals) But was able to to still come in 1st. Mpule win was so special with 85 countries entered and Botswana win on their first entry. It shows that any country can win the crown !!
This was a proud moment watching Wendy Fitzwillam crown yet another black woman as Miss Universe. Mpule Kwelagobe is the 4th, of the 5 black women in the pageants 60 plus year history.
All of our black winners of Miss Universe are very beautiful! From Janelle C. in 1977 to Chelsi S. in1995; This including Wendy, Mpule, and Leila. Mpule showed beauty, intelligene, and charisma, which is why this classy young lady won back in '99

If a country makes it to the top ten the only thing separating the contestant -which could barely be measured - is tact, wit and intelligence.
