Man coop. You have not been my favorite 450, cuz I pull for another. But i cheered for you when you upcoming on 250 and when you win on 450’s I’m still proud and am glad because of your heart and tenacity. I specially enjoy your love for the Lord. Its genuine. This has been a great ride you are on. Whether you or Eli wins I’m stoked… Moto rules. Im miss c’bad my home town. B’oaks and saddleback. Im glad i was able to take my son to ride them all. He is with the Lord since 2019.
If you could get AC and coop onto the show at the same time to talk about the rivalry that made their careers! That would be cool to hear them both talk together about
He would never hes gonna pull a James an disappear for a decade then come back an maybe do announcing if we are lucky .. an that's even a stretch he just doesn't like attention or media
I used to feel the same way as Cooper Webb going to public school and trying to keep up with kids who practice at real facilities. But im still glad I went to public school.
I wentt to elementary school and middle school with Justin Buckelew who has a huge amount of lorretta titles and he couldn't dribble a basketball or throw a football and he was always one of the last kids picked for any sports. Nobody knew he was on Team Green and winning all the amateur nationals. I lived in Edgewood NM in 92-95. Then my family moved cause my father and brother were jockeys and I moved to hot springs Arkansas.
Buckelew was a hell of a rider, especially on a 125. Very underrated rider, so much bike skill, same with Billy Laninovich.. not sure why he came to mind exactly, but besides as a racer, Billy out in the hills was incredible to watch.
Hey dude, Albuquerque kid here. Grew up racing in Moriarty from 94 through the early oughts. Amazing how many fast dudes ended up coming out of that place.
I remember all those guys. Buckelew came out to our SX track at my buddies house during those days. This story reminds me of Ryan Morais. Him and Daniel Blair were our friends up here in Nor Cal and when we went out to high school parties Ryan was always DD. He had a bad ass box fan with a bad ass stereo. I stayed sober because at those parties because I looked up to Ryan. His Dad was strict, so we had to go to youth group church on Wednesdays to be able to get him out of his house. Ryan didn’t go to school though. He was full in on Yamaha amateur program, so much that I think it cost him a championship. If he goes pro right at 16 he probably ends up a champion. There are so many stories on this subject from being just as fast as Bubba in qualifying and A HUGE protest by the A class to try and point Ryan out to go Pro. You should really have Ryan on because he has so many stories and he’s on Coop’s KTM team in R&D. BUT, if you have him on just ask about Dosha aka Roach and Troy’s track and all the good times.
Crazy his friends didn’t realize who he was, I remember racing with coop when he was on a 65 and 85 in eastern NC I’m a few years older so I was on a 250 but everyone at the track knew he would be where he is now, he was smoking us on a 85 in the school boy class
I know your pain. I remember feeling pretty good as I blitzed the whoops at Camp Coker on my 125 only to have Damon Bradshaw fly by me like I was sitting still. To this day I'm still not sure if I was more impressed or embarrassed.
Thanks you sharing HS days no doubt getting your license and getting a old f150 with a 302cc 5 speed manual on the floor with a kick ass stereo system and being state champions in soccer were some of the best days public school was great for me didn't mind doing things that were hard... life is a challenge.
I relate so much. I wanted to be homeschooled so bad bc I had friends who were and they rode 3-5 days a week and I was lucky to get 1 day a week seat time if I was lucky. And I was faster then all my home schooled friends
Webb seems like a blue collar motocrosser. He impressed me a couple years ago, I think it was the AZ SX maybe when he got out of shape in the whoops or on a jump and went butt first onto the cement. I cringed. He raced the next weekend . . . . how? I do not know. He is gritty dude. Glad he's back. I wish him luck.
Can’t squat or lift much? Pffft, let’s see them boys hang on even 1 lap at your pace. Lol!. Boys will be boys, and you’ll forever make them feel like, boys. You’re in such a great headspace and riding amazing Coop. You got this. 👍👍👍👍👊👊
Awesome video!! From the time I seen Webb pass his two teammates on the last lap, last corner @ a 2013 Texas Amateur National.. I knew this dude is a Bad you know what!🤘💪🤘
Lol in film studies i tried to tie a vhs i checked out from school to my yz250. We had to make films and the whole class watched and nobody cared about my dirtbike :)
I seen coop in a 2008 Loretta lyns DVD and knew 100% that he was going to be a champion. And to hear he went to school until 16 and only got to train for an hr a day some days this cat is pure talent. 👌
I hated school so bad also, got in a program where you got out early to go work and I made it to get out around noon and all I wanted to do and think of was riding my motorcycle so that’s what I did lol,but injuries got me so I had to stay amateur and we had a motocross track and woods so I stayed in the woods and that’s what I still do at 58! I will never stop
Mannnn. Coop you know everyone here knew exactly who you where and what you where bout. Your dad had the dirt bike track built behind the surf shop w Tim grimes help ofc
Coop really is the blue collar MX guy. He represents 80% of the fan base. Imagine half these younger riders in public school. New riders like Deagan, AC, Forkner, Shimoda, and even Sexton would get their asses whooped every day
And you wouldn't change growing up and that's school environment for a minute or you wouldn't be the person you are today big fella and you know it .... just ask yourself what's wrong with the kids today hmmmmmm they seem to miss out on the 3 square beatings a day we all endured...both liberating and character building
Ahhh boxing in the locker room . Those were the days haha same shit on the other side of the country lol now days kids cry in the locker room thinking they might be a dog this week
that could be a reason AC isnt performing as well as he was coming up. of course the injuries, but he got punished for poor riding as a kid? that has to wear pretty thin on you growing up. too much pressure on the mental could have lead to bad habits once he became pro. just some food for thought. i dont know the real answer
Mad how different these riders are in real life compared to what you get to see on tv broadcast and press conference! Cooper seems like a ledge after this weeks of podcasting 🤙🏽
this interviewer and the other australian guy impose themselves way too much in their interviews, like sometimes they dont even ask questions they just say a story about themselves and wait to see what the guest has to say about it. not to mention the nasty clickbaiting
This dude could learn a thing or two from Rogan about interviews/podcasting if he actually paid attention. But he would probably be to busy paying attention to his own story’s in his head
Yea, it’s crazy how it works for him…..and you’re here criticizing while he has some of the best in the sport sitting with him having conversations. does not need the approval
