The G6 is a nice car, however I bought the G9 with premium package. My work friends who are a driving a Model 3 and Model X were both very impressed by the tech and luxury of the Xpeng.
Most reviews are on the driving. I look at it more from a passenger's experience. Quite frankly, I hate getting Teslas on Uber as the rides are hard made worse by the hard seats and headrest and short seat length in the back. The Xpeng addressed all those issues based on two test drives as a passenger in the G6 in the front and back.
Don’t kid yourself. Xpeng is a beta version of a tesla. The seats in the tesla have their own team dedicated to designing and making them comfortable in house . There’s more cons to a Xpeng vs model Y … they could of at least put sentry cams in it . That is a big no No ….

Suspension in Highland is improved so I expect Juniper to be along similar lines. However, the improvements in the Highland, if projected onto Juniper, still don't impress me enough.
Yes the update for Model Y will be very important to stay competitive. A couple of years ago they had fast charging and range as their usp despite poor comfort and lack of some tech, today competitors have same or better range and much faster charging. Things are moving fast.
I really hope that Tesla doesn't just give Model Y the "highland treatment" and ACTUALLY updates it. Charging speed is so mediocre and it lacks so many features that should be standard on cars today.
@@Danne89 The charging speed for the model Y is not up there with the G6, but remember that the Y is only 15 minutes slower on the 1000km challenge, so oevrall a small difference.
In my opinion the comfort in the model Y except for really bad roads is good, slthough not ecellent. The suspension is not soft and therefore also firm on very curvy roads where it drives as well as the model 3. It is only 15 minutes slower on 1000km so the charging speed is ok. Of course it will get better.
Price differential varies between countries. In Australia, Tesla charge $3.5k extra for specific interior and exterior colours. Summon and level 2+ ADAS included in G6, Tesla charge $5k for enhanced ADAS in model Y. In Oz Xpeng offering free charger and home power supply installation. G6 has V2L and reclining rear. Xpeng have longer warranty than Tesla. Tesla has better ADAS and a frunk.
I find that the G6 being powered by NVIDIA chipset interesting, "By learning users' daily high-frequency routes, XNGP can provide an ADAS experience comparable to that of an experienced driver, even in areas without HD map coverage."
isn't Xpeng's strength in China its software and FSD? would seem Bjorn's biggest "but" re this car is extremely likely to become a major positive within the next 6-12 months via software updates.
Would gladly sacrifice a bit of range for more traditional door handles. Whether they pop out or pivot I do dislike flush door handles so very much. There’s a few EVs on the market with actual door handles that get over 300 miles, so EVs can still work with real door handles and are better for having them.
I owned the G6 for a year, it's the best. 11kwh/100km, also does tesla have pre-heat/cool of car? like tap phone to preheat/cool a minute before enter car so it's toasty or cool? this one function blows all cars away. and G6 have lots more good useful functions... and it does have sentry mode.
Subjective some other very experienced guys like you had Aldo claimed it’s a very good car and software very good maybe depend on how knowledgeable you’re about the car before you can feel better.
Bjorn really liked the NIO ET5 touring. NIO is bringing out a sub brand Onvo L60 in 2 days which has similar measurements to the MY, it's 5k cheaper than the MY in China and does battery swap. Looks pretty good.

Bjørn: Yes. But software can change quickly. But to be sure, you might want to wait until it really has been fixed. Otherwise you might be disappointed.
There is no guarantee that XPENG will keep providing updates, after for example 1 or 2 years. There is a risk that those improvements will never come for this car model.

My volvo v90 would not slow down in the (sharper) curbs and just cross the line with 'pilot assist' enabled. So for now maybe good it rather slows down. Let's hope for some improvement in the future.

In addition, there is 5 years road assistance. 3 years paint warranty.

I think what is really important how annoying is a car in daily usage. There are not only numbers in charging what counts. It is not so imporant if you charge some minutes more in reality. And anyway by far not all fastchargers have 800 volt technology

Tesla is not light years ahead of anyone. I see this statement so often and then a lot of people (that didn't do their research) get disappointed when they find out that their new Y doesn't even have parking sensors, 360 camera, summon, ventilated seats, V2L, HUD and comes with lots of phantom braking + mediocre charging speed. There are no perfect cars. Tesla lacks in some and excel in others... Their infotainment and efficiency is amazing, the rest? Not so much. Here in Europe their charging network is not a selling point either since most stations are open for everyone.

I wouldn't be under any illusions that the Chinese will upgrade the car and fix software bugs, longer support is not their style. Their efforts always shift to the next new models, but what's already in production will probably stay as is.
This could depend on the brand, I know xpeng are always doing updates, same with NIO - even for older NIOs. It's the legacy auto that can't be bothered updating EVs.

The long warranty comes with a price though. The service intervals are quite frequent and not exactly cheap.

For me charging Speed of model y SR is fine. Faster is always better but It is no necessity for me. Nowadays EVs are badass!

Hardware is much more important than software. Software you can improve overtime with OTA but hardware you are stuck with it.

Wrong. I have a BYD seal in Australia , I had the car for 6 months and there are already 3 OTA updates that significantly made the experience better
