I hope to see that fun, fast-paced, run and gun style of play built around her in the future. Would at least be nice to see teammates actually be aware to make themselves available for a pass when she's being double teamed or hedged aggressively. The refs are allowing a lot of contact against her right now, because I imagine they want her to earn calls even if they're legitimate fouls already. The team is going to have to step up and have her back through that if they want a chance at winning. The NBA is also more skills based instead of jobber based like the W. The WNBA is too much about "women trying to feed their families with a 20 year career" than good basketball and talent. Older coaches and players are way too friendly. Only 13 draftees made rosters because teams are holding onto older heavier players who play 90s ball. This is why WNBA is not interesting to watch. Of course a 40 year old tank can run over a college student with zero time to prepare physically. Sides is a dumb coach because she should have CC doing long shots that remove the physical advantage of the older players. Instead she is off telling the press that CC needs to work on shorter shots that will put her up against a 240lbs linebacker who would love nothing more than to injure her to open a roster spot for another old timer to be called back. This league needs to create separation between draft day and the start of the season and needs to fire coaches and GMs that favor older players "trying to support a family". This league cannot improve favoring older players.

Dear Fever Coaching staff, you had months before the draft to prepare and design plays for her, since you knew you had the 1st pick, and that was the best offense you could do last Tuesday? Caitlin loves to fire a 3 as her opening shot, and to watch her hesitate and do a lay-up instead felt weird, and to see her get slapped with phantom fouls early and get mauled by double-triple teams was painful. She looked so dejected in the post-game presser. Did you pick her just to pass the ball around and shoot long 2s? She is a fun, dynamic player, an exciting shooter, a high risk, high reward playmaker, and a phenomenal talent with a fierce will to win, so please, please, please, do not bungle your one and only chance for greatness. Please play to her strengths, upskill her teammates and make them run faster and hustle more. We are counting on you to do way much better and smarter. 🙏🙏🙏
