  • Went fishing with my Dad in Yankeetown and had a great day of catching Redfish. We went to a different area in the morning to try and catch some snook and that was a total bust. We fished that area for about 3-4 hours without any bites and made the move to an area I knew there would be fish and started catching them instantly. All the fish were caught on Zman 3 inch Minnowz in the Mud Minnow or White/Red Tail color. Fishing with artificials with this time of the year requires attention to detail on the tempo you work the lures. I recommend working the lures very slow and low to the bottom to get the bite. Nice! Looks like you were fishing the outer islands rather than deep in the creeks. How long ago was this? You think the fish will still be there as it gets colder?

This was a serious warm up after a cold front so the fish pushed out of the creek mouths a bit cause the water temp was in the high 60’s. But after this next cold front, they will be deep in the creeks for sure. It’s a cold one!
