Brilliant idea for greasing the drive screws. I think I saw those videos he talked about with the pvc pipe and the clear one inch hose with the grease zerks. Nice video. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for this video. I watched Ray on love your RV channel, boy that guy takes everything apart, and I knew I wouldn’t do it like that but I was kind of stuck. So thanks.
Thanks! Very new to all of this, but your video makes it look easy. However, being so new I have absolutely no idea if there are different types of grease. What do you (or anyone) recommend.
Great video and just what I need. I just purchased a 2007 Keystone Montana and cleaning and greasing the landing gear is next on my list. I will be using the same method and process you displayed in your video. One annoying issue I have is blowing the 30 amp fuse when the landing gear goes too far up or down. How do you know when you reach the limits of the landing gear ? Thanks for any assistance you can provide !
Thanks for the info. My gear is making a clicking noise, when under a load. Something is not right. Will lube after taking it apart and trying to figure it out.
@@fostermoms9630 Turned out that I had to replace motor. It is common with that unit. The gear box had stripped gear new motor came with gear box. Was an easy fix.
The foam tube was brilliant!
I would think the PB Blaster penetrating oil would wash lube off of the parts. There is spray lube for what you're wanting to do. Thanks for video.
Good stuff. I had already seen the other two methods and this is much easier and looks just as effective.

Thank you, Hope it helps
Can you think of a good reason to NOT just leave the tube in there? Kind of a sponge to constantly grease the screw?
If you leave the grease tube in there it will interfere with the leg as it rides up and down on the screw.

I have the same issue on my genesis supreme. Everyone I talk to says the main leg is bent causing stress on the motor
Thanks, mine is binging at mid-travel, taking it to a local RV to have lube done to landing gear..
My motor definitely doesn’t sound like that mine is probably binding slightly definitely needs lube thanks for the tips great video
Great tip - I am blowing fuses and have lots of binding - I need to ck lube first.
MoJo I would spray the rod down with PB Blaster and let it set overnight. That will help break up any rust on the rod, then grease it. Good luck.
I plan to do this on my montana i had jack problems now I have a motor on each side it can handle the load now
Wow, mine is a 2007 and this has never been done. I guess I better have a look.
Sheer genius! Thanks…
Great Idea. Thank you
Thank you for the info.
Thanks, very clever idea.

Hi I have a clicking noise also when lifting. What did you find out was your problem?
Coley L Same for me. Will not get me level, stops moving, still spins and a clicking sound. But motor moves
Mike White mine is super slow and motor sound much higher pitch than his. Im gonna do this lube. How did yours turn out?
@@mikewhite9818 did you figure out what was wrong?

What kind of grease, is it RV specific, or will any gear grease work? TIA
Why not put a grease fitting close to where the collar is. God Vid.
