Your experience of spending time with a group of teachers is very relatable for a lot of people. At least half of my family is in education. This includes myself, siblings, their spouses, and some of their kids. So when the whole family gets together the conversation steers toward education most of the time. We are also a pasionate bunch and so it takes a minute for us to get off the topic. My brother in law pointed out to me something that is different about todays students recently. He said that rhis generation is the most compassionate he has seen but they also are so timid about talking to adults they dont know. They do a senior project and they have to talk to people about their project and he spends a lot of his time helping them make phone calls and write emails because the students are so anxious and unsure of how to go about talking to them. I found that very imteresting.

First podcast I’ve watched and loved it, Greg. My husband knows your family , including Roxy bear by name as I’ve been watching your utube since before Clark was born .. Roxy coming home as puppy.. my favorite utube family and we are retired seniors.. could be your parents in age.. so thankful for your clean heartwarming videos. Prayers for Roxy and your family. ( we are dog people and within the last few years we’ve lost two 14 year old labs! We understand! Good job on your health journey and making it all happen.

Good evening Greg! I hope this comment finds you well!
I start my comment this week talking about conversations between teachers. Let me tell you, they have the ability to be a whole other breed of human. My mom is an elementary school teacher, and you would not believe some of the BS I have to hear from her every other day during the school year. It seems like a good chunk of them have dirt about many particular students. It just appalls me how we can have opinions on people, especially of that age, based upon someone else’s opinion of them.
I just got back from my Montana vacation a couple of days ago. While I was there, my youngest niece had a sixth grade celebration, where all of the sixth graders “officially graduate” to seventh grade. The way it works in that district is very similar to how ours work. Grades K-6 go to the elementary school, and grades 7-12 go to what they call a middle-high school there.
I tried out journaling for a bit, but it never became a routine. That being said, I’ve always wanted to vlog my life experiences, I just haven’t yet. I think a video diary very similar to the lovely one you have would be amazing for me to look back on these good days of my life!
Am so sorry to hear about the scare with Roxy. We have two senior dogs in our family as well who are both reaching their final chapters in life. One is just getting old and seems to be perfectly healthy, while the bigger one is scrawny, won’t eat half of the time, and has an enlarged prostate (which I assume to be cancerous, but the vet couldn’t quite figure that out). That specific dog is starting to scare me because he is moving slower and falling more often. I’ll just hope that when that day comes when he leaves us that he will leave in comfort.
Let’s move to something a little happier. Today, I had the strangest yet most beautiful thing happen to me. I was standing outside, and I just suddenly became happy as I weirdly felt all of the little things I worry about in life kind of go away in my mind for a second. I felt like everything was going to be okay, I’ll find the love of my life, I’ll find a way to make my friendships stronger, and I’ll figure out life. I feel like I just had all of my life’s big questions answered with an “it will all work out,” and I am strangely relieved. So I encourage all of this week’s listeners, whether you are the quiet one in the corner, or the one who is always in the masses, to worry less, because it will all work out, you may just not see it right now!
Thank you to everyone on this platform who has inspired me to do better in my life. Without this, I don’t know where I’d be. Live these best days of your life to the fullest, I feel like I have! See you guys later!

Good Sunday Morning Greg!! I am so happy that the teacher get together went well. Sometimes being the host means sacrificing for the common good. :) It is so important that the people that are given that talent to bring people together, use it. Like with families, if someone does not spearhead the reunions and holidays...they tend to stop happening.
The yard sale bubbles were a fantastic buy!! So much fun had by everyone with those. The Clark and his meticulous selection of cards and his interaction with the young man selling them was so heartwarming. They both really appreciated the Pokémon cards and were so kind to each other. So great to see young entrepreneurs.
It is wonderful that you interact with the kids and helped make their day fun. Giving a young person the time of day, can be the difference in their lives. Pizza and Pool party...nothing better in life.
I am sorry to hear about getting ill. You were at the pentacle of germs with the amusement park, little kid pizza party, and the Clark. :) Sometimes even the greatest immune systems wanes.
The journal idea sounds fantastic!! It would make wonderful shorts and it would open up a new market of potential fans. Do it, it will be so rewarding!!
The Garden Idea...bring Bobby in for the advice!! No Dig is such a genius with growing in a confined area!! The plants you choose sound awesome!! Especially the zucchini!! I love zucchini bread!!
Harbor Freight is fantastic, especially for one off tools. Pay the nominal warranty fee and they will replace no questions asked.
The Clark got the most artistic award!! That is fantastic!! I so see that...he is so creative and brilliant. He is such a wonderful young man!! He has the ability to change the world!! He already has a platform with this channel and his own. He is a man of tradition...so wonderful!!
The wing and Frankenstein sauce creations are such a great part of your food journeys. That creativity carries over into the meal realm.
The Roxy scare...we feel for you brother😢 Just like with people enjoy each day...we are all on borrowed time...make the most of each day and let the people you know, know that you care about them.
Congratulations on the raised beds!! It is such an amazing accomplishment when you are able to finish a project like that when it is not your expertise...like fixing a toilet without paying a plumber or building ikea furniture. :)
Mountain pies to finish off the week and raised beds...so awesome...those and hobo dinners take me back to scouting days!!
The mowing thing...not only are you contributing to the economy, but it is time that allows you to spend with making money and more importantly with Coty and the Clark.
Your take on socializing is correct. We all are different, but being able to interact is so important. Being independent is important and a great leadership quality. Being able to work and exist autonomously is so important. I agree with you. That is why I go into work at 2:30 a.m....I love my staff...but, I need the time alone to accomplish the days work. :)
Greg, the week in your world was a perfect example of why we all are here. Each week brings up and downs that we can all relate too. Thanks for sharing your life with us each week, it is a way to recharge and get ready to begin a new adventure each week. I hope that the first full week of summer break is a fantastic one. Enjoy the week with Coty and The Clark!! 🙂

    Greg,
First time commenting but long time listener. I like to go to concerts by myself and people think it’s so strange and I’m at the age I don’t care. First concerts are expensive and second I have fun. At times I meet people and have great conversations and we enjoy the music. Other times I am left alone and still sing aloud and have just as much fun. What I realized a long time ago is I’m going to do what I’m passionate about and people can think what they want. I have way more conversations with people wishing they would have tried things on their own than trying to find people or miss out because of what others think. Life is short don’t live in fear or regret.

Hi, Greg! Here from Apple Podcast Land.
I've had to hold the fort while others are away on vacation. A rule we have is that if anything bad happens, they're not to be told until they're back home safely. We do this because the bad news would ruin the remainder of their holiday, and it's not like they could do anything about it anyway except feel powerless and miserable.
With the Appalachian Trail, perhaps you could record a ton of Lego and gaming videos early. 24 of each would give you two videos per week over six months. Potentially, you could upload sporadic vlogs from the trail at rest stops. And here's a possibly risky idea; Clark could be given access to the channel for that time to fill in the gaps. It'd be a ton of work, but if this is something you seriously want to do, just go for it. Taking that much time away from your family might be hard, but also consider whether you'd still be able to pull off a hike of this magnitude once Clark's finished school. You'll be in your 50s (or thereabouts). If six months is too lengthy, maybe it could be split into two or more trips over a few years? Don't let your dreams be dreams!
    Love from the UK.

Hi Greg! Hope you’re feeling better. Thinking about Roxy and your family. So happy for Clark! He’s so bright. Happy summer. We started a tradition w our son taking him to lunch after graduation also. He’s graduating first grade so there’s no stepping up ceremony like pre K or Kindergarten but still want to celebrate all the good progress he’s made. Olive Garden always a great choice w the unlimited salad and breadsticks, yum! Hoping for a better week for everyone! Take care.

    Hello Greg!
How very true if you want something enough you can shoot for it.
Always shoot for your dreams and do things everyday to make that happen. Constancy is key.
I can only imagine walking g down the street to be only blasted with bubbles by a father and son laughing.
The way you and coty are raising Clark he will be a great guy. He will take after his dad for sure!
Sorry about Roxy have more issues. Its such a hard thing to go through. I lost my childhood cat two years ago, it gets easier and I didn't have a great support system during that time. You do, whether its us or your family and friends their are people who are there for you ❤
So happy for your weight loss goals! You starting yours got me to as well. Lost about 35lbs so far. Still a little over weight so have a way to go but going strong!
I'm a pretty solo guy as well. When I was younger I had friends but we were never really close. There was always distance. Now I love being on my own and own it fully. I don't hate being with people but my social battery is small. I find my best work is when im alone and its quiet. I have a hard time starting conversations but I'm great at keeping them going. My family thinks I'm nuts sometimes.
I've had the opposite as a young kid i wasn't very close with my grandparents but now I've realized how important family is and spend as much time as jt can with them. My great aunt and I spend most of our Mondays helping out at the church, delivering meals. Its great for bonding.
Apologies for such a long comment,
    All the best, Rob

    Hey Greg.
Completely understand when you say you prefer to be alone. Im the same, Very much an introvert , I would sit in a waiting room beside someone i know and pretend not to see them just so we wouldn’t have to engage in Conversation. I often go on trips by myself or prefer to be at home alone at night. My now Wife (Just got married last week after being together for 14 Years) Shes always trying to make plans with Our friends the weekend to go for Dinner etc and Im always trying to avoid.
Im even debating changing my career with a long time, I work for myself and do pretty well but unfortunately it requires me to meet multiple people a day and Im not 100% happy, I don’t love what i do, Im a pretty motivated and positive person, I know if i found something that i really enjoyed id excel at it, Ive toyed with the idea of Full time lego Selling (Bricklink etc, But i know that this is low margin/ Hard to get going. Clark's bubble wand was the score of the summer. I love the joy that the bubbles provided.sounds like your summer is off to a great start. WE have harbor freight here, too. I think their stores are ok .their tools are definitely for light use. I buy my grandson his tools there. The price is right for an 11 year old . Oh no .my heart sunk.i thought no not yet. I am glad ,Roxy is feeling better.

Greg have you guys considered doing a west coast trip? Have you ever been to Californias Disney land? I’ve never been to Disney world Florida and was thinking about how the two parks would compare.
Great episode last week. I don’t mind when you talk about more real things, it makes the podcast seem genuine.

Hey Greg. This comment includes comments from past missing pieces. Since you like interstellar that much have you and your family seen inception? It’s from the same director as interstellar and it also has the same wonderful music by composer Hans Zimmer.
Also, it’s tough when an animal gets older. I’m coming up on the one anniversary of losing our Doggo friend. It’s not easy, but I like the way that you are enjoying every day you can with Roxy, treating it as a gift. I commend you.
We had a husky in the past they stole him and he broke away and got locked up so we rescued him from the pound again lol they are rough and be prepared for hair all over the place. I thought you were going to go after an Australian Shepherd or border collie next??
    Bird?
good luck to you and your family in everything you do.
