I'm a muslim but I love learning about other religions. This was a very interesting video! Thank you!
Im a muslim too .its wonderful to see them perform the rituals.
Stick with Jesus...
@@pamelamorrisonn: What you need to realize, and accept, is that the "NT" is absolutely NOT scripture that was given to mankind by God! It is a false, pagan, man-made, anti-God, anti-Jewish, hate-filled, blasphemous, replacement theology work of fiction that DID NOT come from God! PLEASE do some honest research on this subject, and learn from the Rabbis, as COMMANDED by God in Deut. 17:8-11. PLEASE buy yourself a Hebrew Bible (says "TANACH" on the cover), so you can see what God ACTUALLY said to us! Also extremely helpful to yo would be Rabbi Singer's 2-vol. set of books "Let's Get Biblical - Why Doesn't Judaism Accept the Christian Messiah?". PLEASE avail yourself of these valuable resources and learn God's ACTUAL Truth! .
Me too! It looks they are taking wudu’!
Very nice am learning to celebrate the shabbat, and chosen to worship on Saturday, going back to my Jewish root as a believer in Jesus
Christ of Nazareth
I am a Christian but I do not belong to a Church because after being 3 different denominations I cannot except any of mans added doctrines, rules or judgments.
But today I am amazed at how the Jewish people celebrate so richly.
I am learning.

Or the non-Messianic faith? :-) (No disrespect meant to you, Mac) Good luck on your spiritual journey, Neal. I hope you find Peace and Wholeness
Neal Valero Me too! Our Savior also practiced these traditions. They are beautiful and help us understand Him as He was sacrificed on the Sabbath and when He rose He folded His burial clothes as they do in Jewish tradition after a meal to symbolize that it was sustaining for life!
Please observe sabbath and judaism! You can be a Jew and not change anything of your Christian faith! I belive that I was always a Jew and that Christianity was my unfinished faith.
Thank you just seeing this in February 2024
What a beautiful way to honor God and say thank you. I've always admired the Jewish people and their faith, because the emphasis is on Life.
So beautiful shabbos i really enjoy this video

I am a covert in progress. You inspire me to keep studying the conversion syllabus suggestions and when retired move to an orthodox community and live my life as a Jew, HaShem willing. If I run out of time, may HaShem see me as a Noahide whose heart will always declare: Your people are my people.
what a beautiful tradition. the rituals have a such a positive spiritual feeling. thanks for sharing with all for the non-jewish curious mind.

*sha1017906:* Who told you that you can't flush toilets on Shabbat?! That's NOT true, and I've never heard of that - toilets aren't run on electricity, so there's no problem flushing.
By rituals, you mean satanic rituals?
I am new to the faith and grateful to you for the enlightenment. I am grateful to you for teaching me through this medium.
G-D Bless You.
Thanks, so very much hearing, learning, reciting te blessing along with your video... it meant the world to me and in my heart I can not express through words.
As my grandfather is/was rabbi on Manhattan Island, and my father, well he decided to take a break from the religious aspect of our faith, largely in part to do to WWII, oh well we've all been attempting to learn again and be accepted... as we always remained in bond with our people, family, and Israel 🇮🇱... but you know... my Hebrew is zilch, nadda, just not up to par, however, my Yiddish is passable 😊😉

Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I wish I had Jewish friends to experience this great celebration of the right way to welcome the shabbat 😢...
hey im having a sabeth day in two days you should come tru
+Eddy Hamilton thanks for the offer lol
Dear Rabbi David ,
Thanks for this wonderful posting!
God bless Israel.
+sha1017906 I've never heard of such a rule forbidding flushing. Additionally "HaShem" is the preferred nomenclature for G-d in casual conversation. The name you used is only appropriate in prayer or in reading scripture.
Reform Jews call G-d "Adonai" meaning "the Lord"
@@chatterjeelinda4: ALL Jews refer to God by the "A" name, but it is sacred, and is only supposed to be used during prayer. If you're just speaking about God, the word used is "Hashem", or "God".
thank you so much for taking the time to video this wonderful performance for the Lord of Hosts...i believe you did this for the love of God and your fellowmen. G-d bless you more!
Thank you for sharing your private event. You generosity is appreciated
again again shabbat is a great thing for us Jewish people in me I love it to
In Judaism, Sabbath and family are inseparable. Long before the sun sets on Friday, Sabbath becomes the focal point of all activity. By mid-afternoon, family members make their way home, carrying flower bouquets and beautifully braided challah bread.
Sabbath preparations include a table festively set with a white tablecloth, the best dishes, silver candlesticks and a vase for the flowers. Favourite Sabbath foods fill the rooms with delicious aromas. An air of expectancy pervades the house. As one of our Jewish friends expressed it, "The Sabbath starts coming Friday afternoon. By sundown it is all here."
The mother of the family has the honour of officially receiving the Sabbath. At sundown she lights at least two Sabbath candles, although in some homes a candle is lit for each member of the family.
Candlelight represents the Sabbath blessing that still shines from Creation. One can light a whole roomful of candles from a single taper without diminishing the lustre of its light. Just so, the rich blessing God intended for us on the Sabbath has not diminished since He blessed the first Sabbath day.
+The Sabbath not all celebrate this way.
The Sabbath What an eloquent, beautiful, and loving way of describing your Shabbat.
@Catherine H.: Do you even have a clue what a "Zionist" is??!! "...true Jewish" people ARE "Zionists"! Educate and inform yourself before making ignorant comments!
That was awesome. Thanks for sharing !
Thank you for sharing this video.
Deeply touched by this Shabbat ceremonial family meal. Have already moved subconsciously in that direction, even though living alone.m
Shabbat Shalom.
Nice Family!
Thank you so much for sharing this special celebration with me, truly grateful.
Thank you for including us in your beautiful tradition.
I'm learning thank you !
wow,, so amazing. Thank you for the video which gives a perspective on how Jewish people observe Shabbat.
Very nice video....thank you
Wonderful! Wonderful family!
Beautiful, thankyou. 😊
Thank you I have enjoyed this with tears of emotions of joy about the Sabbath events with family. I love this untill a Jew family will teach us Gentile to do all these worship and praise one Day very Soon.....this after 8 years could be here at the Door. Amen. min. 10:30... beautiful princess, with all her being, doing her duty of sharing the bread... so dedicated that throw the bread to the Dad... not pointing a wrong, but laughing with her inocent personality... all of them inspiring me to start this beautiful tradition that allowes us to reflect more of our God's favor. 🥰🥰 😘
Sweet! May the Lord bless you and keep you, may the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious unto you. May the Lord lift His countenance upon you, and give you peace. How lovely, a beautiful blessing from God shared in many religions. 🙏🏼Thank You.
Thank you for showing us the beauty of Judism 🙏
Nice to see.

Good afternoon dear Rabbi, G-d bless you! I wanna know if you could provide for me the whole Birkat Hamazon the way you sing it... as it seems beatiful to me! :) I sing it with my kids as far as you let us know in this video X))... I really appreciate it! Have a Good shabbat!

nice video, btw there is a global Shabbos Project coming up

As a Mexican. I grew up in a town of mostly catholic people, nevertheless my family were always apart . Never understood the meaning of keeping the Sabbath and keeping the Kosher laws. As I grew up and went on with my own life I totally understand and love my tradition my religion,
Wow this is cool!
+sha1017906 only very few strict Orthodox Jews actually do that and He is referred to as HaShem when not praying or reading scripture
Do you use different water for each hand? Or do you fill the pitcher before pouring it on your hands? And where does the water come from?
Syaloom.
Netilat Yadayim. the commandment of washing of the hands
very grateful to have found your video. what do I do on Saturday? since it starts Friday before sundown until Saturday sundown . Thank you for sharing,GOD bless.
*Ch& Lii:* Observant Jews go to synagogue and 3 services: Shacharit (morning service), Mincha (afternoon service) and Maariv (evening service), and spend the day learning Torah and visiting with friends and family - and of course, eating 3 delicious meals! Women are not required to go to the services, but most do.

Do all Jewish people speak/write/read Hebrew and/or Yiddish ? Thanks.
❤ 🙏
Rabbi David where can I get 10 copies of the Prayer Book you and the children were holding in order to teach my own ?

I love to learning pray Hebrew language how I can to learn?
I consider myself to be a B'nei Noach, maybe one day I will be able to have Shabbat like a Jewish person, which I think is beautiful.
Thanks very much for this video.
💕💕💕💕
Can anyone tell me what is the name of the book that they are using? Thanks
*Ana Chu:* The book they are using is called "The NCSY Bencher" (A Book of Prayer and Song), and is available, depending where you live, in Judaica stores, or you can order it on-line from any Judaica store.
Has anyone checked the CC on this? It talks about EMAIL? Oi
Shabbat shalom 🙏 ✡ 💙 🇮🇱
dear friends read isaiah 56 it say about shabbat
So cute seeing all the kids singing the sabbath prayers. If only girls could be Rabbis, the young girls on the right seem to have the right mind and disposition for it.
What a wonderful time when the family comes together The children certainly know the prayers
Female are Rabbis too. We have a female Rabbi at my synagogue.
@@stellamills9486 Jewish children attend Jewish schools to learn all the prayers (songs) and traditions. It's an obligation.

What is the book your using?!
That's a birkon - a book with prayers for the meal

The Catholic Mass follows steps exactly this Shabbat ritual, washing of hands, lightning two candles, blessing, cutting bread and Kiddush..the only difference is that only the priestc could do all of this and not the parishioners..the sharing of a piece of bread is classic also.

Why didn't you explain the way they wildly wave their hands over the candles? I mean I know why but others might not. That was funny to see 4 people doing it lol

were can i get a book
*R G Wells:* You would have to go to a Judaica store or order on-line from a Judaica store.
Are you Reform? And why are the girls are wearing kippot also?
def reform. He's giving a blessing with no kippot, The girls are wearing kippahs, they said the blessing for shabbat candles over the shabbos table, and you pour kiddish wine from one cup and pass.
Yosef C
Todah for the answer. But are blessing the candles on the shabbat table and pouring kiddush into one cup and passing it on Reform things? I must admit that as an Orthodox girl, I do the same things...but in my defense I am still learning.
Well Mariah that's the great thing about Judiasm :)! Always learning something new! Believe I'm learning too! I live on my own! I haven't had a meal in my home yet. I normally spent a Shabbos meal at someone's home. Wonderful video, but as an Orthodox Jew i find these customs a little out of my element. Maybe it's just me. :)
Yosef C
Okay, thanks for for your insight. Love your profile pic by the way😀
@@joer736: No, it's not just you! That's the first thing I thought - WHY are the girls wearing a kippah?! Girls aren't even required to cover their hair - only married women! Well, at least they're recognizing Shabbos, but I hope and pray they eventually learn the proper way to observe it!
the washing of the hands is symbolic of washing off our "self will/I will". The palm of our hand is symbolic of our face. (the Hebrew word for palm is also face) The back of the hand is symbolic of turning away (showing our back towards God); just as Adam and Eve turned their backs against the will of "I AM". The reason for not speaking between the breaking of the bread (symbolic of the broken body of Yeshua (Isaiah 53 www.mechon-mamre.org/p/pt/pt1053.htm) and eating the bread is showing we must first eat the bread of heaven (will of "I AM") and then we speak His word/will of "I AM", rather than our will/our words .
Question : is the challah the only thing they eat for the Sabbath night dinner ? Just wondering. And if your a christian do u have to do it like that.
LiveForGod It's certainly not the only thing - just the first thing. Shabbat dinner is a wonderful celebration with lots of decadent foods!
If you would like to find a host for a Shabbat meal, Shabbat.com
Why do you wave your hands over the candles and cover your eyes, and is the bread all you have to eat for how long?
Waving our hands over the candles symbolizes spreading the peace of shabbat all around and then bringing it into ourselves as we cover our eyes. The challan is only the first thing we eat. It is followed by a delicious meal.
Why 18 minutes?
i want to be a Jew ! i need someone to guide me
dave long Well aren't you the beacon of light. If you cannot come up with a suggestion to perhaps help in a persons walk in following the Almighty God then why even comment.
Following the Almighty Creator...the Creator of the heavens and the earth...the creator of everything...the creator of you...is not a religion it is Life!
God is Spirit...John 4:24
Speak to your local Rabbi.it's a lengthy process
Romans 2:28-29 To be a Jew is to believe in God and his son. Galatians 3:29 if you are Christ's then you are Abrahams seed and heirs. Joshua 6:17 Rahab the harlot believed in the God of the children of Israel and was ancestor of Jesus. You only have to believe and live for him and be led by his spirit.
Where in the torah says wearing KIPPAH? HEAD COVERING?
Young girls are not obligated to wear head coverings. That's a reform or conservative thing.
It is in the bible! One reason is to remind you, there is aleays somebody above you!
Why do two of the girls have different yarmulks than the other? One was white while the other two were black and beaded.
*Elizabeth Allison:* It's what they chose for themselves. Young girls are not required to cover their heads so I don't know why they're wearing kippas (yarmulkas). Only married women cover their heads with hats, various types of head scarves or wigs, but never kippahs!
Yes i was wondering myself why those girls are using kippah, girls in my family never used it.
shabbat is not only for the jews it is all who believe it YHVH.
all the torah is for all.
Stacey Calder no.
Stacey Calder Umm...no. Not quite.
As God revealed it.
Shabbath is for the jews. They dont blv in jesus. Christians blv in jesus. Jesus didnt keep the sabbath. He dismissed the law. His law was love. He brought grace
@@SRoseBlog wrong ., YahaShua did keep the Sabbath, but Shabbat is ONLY for the Jewx
Im not Jewish but this taught me something...something...something i cant figure out.
Why the girls with cipa???!!!
Why are the girls wearing keepot????
Why not?
@@rabbidavid It's counter productive and some would consider it insulting. It's like trying to force a women to be a man. Men and women are different not only physically but spiritually too. Each has their roll in the Jewish home and as part of Klal Israel in their avodas Hashem. If you owned a farm would you have the chickens pull the plow and have the oxen hatch the eggs? Why not, you might ask? Well nothing would get done on the farm, that's why not. It's no different with us Jews, let the boys be boys and the girls be girls so we can fulfill our purpose in life.
@@rabbidavid just asking are you from a reform synagogue? reason for girls wearing keepot?
Who is a Haredi Jew here?
So kids drink wine?
bTrueEth wine or grape juice can be drunk
@@birdie8663 isn't that a little strange to give wine to a child?
bTrueEth i believe it depends on the denomination, Orthodox Jews are very strict, but reformed Jews are not

I didn't know the Jewish girls also wear those hat things. I thought it was just the guys that wear those.
*2380Shaw:* Girls DON'T wear "those hat things" (kippahs) - at least they're not meant for women or girls. They're only for men, so I don't know why he has the girls wearing them - depends on what denomination they are or they may be "Messianic Christians" - hard to tell. And because the kippahs are white, suggests they're for a bar mitzvah, bat mitzvah or Yom Kippur - white is NOT traditionally worn on Shabbat. Also, Orthodox Jewish women and girls don't wear jeans or slacks, since they are considered 'menswear'. Some 'feminists' try to do exactly as the men do, so maybe that's the reason for the kippahs on the girls - like I said, it depends on the denomination. Married Orthodox women DO wear head coverings, or sometimes wigs, but not kippahs.
Jennifer Brower that is very intetesting and it sounds right to me. However if that were held true, the synnagogues and churches would be empty.
Jennifer Brower the kippah is not covering the girls. Torah doesn't say to cover the head, but that argument makes sense. Something someone has to feel comfortable doing unless raised doing it.
@@jenniferbrower thanks for the info..although I'm not Jewish I became involved with Jewish Family and Child after a tragedy in my life..they have done more for me and enriched my life through their kindness..forever grateful ❤️
They do not,
HOW DID THE LAW COVENANT BECOME "OBSOLETE"? However, the Law covenant became in a sense "obsolete" when God announced by means of the prophet Jeremiah that there would be a new covenant. (Jer. 31:31-34; Heb. 8:13) In 33 C.E. the Law covenant was canceled on the basis of Christ's death on the torture stake (Col. 2:14), the new covenant replacing it.---Heb. 7:12; 9:15; Ac. 2:1-4. Thus, if a person insists on holding to the observance of the literal sabbath, he fails to to accept the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the torture stake and thus rejects the forgiveness of sins that it makes possible. It is just as if he insisted on offering animal sacrifices after Jesus had offered himself, the one sacrifice for sins forever.
FANTASTICA JUDEN ADONAI KADÒSH SHABBAT TODA AMIN FANTASTIKA AMZINAI AMZINA ISRAEL JERUSALEM JUDEN AMZINA AMIN FANTASTIKA AMIN.END.
With all respect what you DO NOT see is the woman or mother of this house in a puddle just off camera having worked a job and also just finished the 10,000 things necessary for her family to b able to eat and survive Shabbat!! As with most belief systems it the woman who truly carries the ball. I love that these people take time to enjoy God and family. It just sucks that it is so taxing on the women. It’s tantamount to a mother preparing a full American Thanksgiving meal every Friday. And not being able to run the hat water in the sink to clean up!!!
Jeff Legg yikes...the very reason I just cannot do it.
*Jeff Legg:* And not only that...all the cooking for the Friday night dinner, the Saturday lunch, and the 3rd meal, Saturday afternoon, has to be done BEFORE the Sabbath begins! Plus the house has to be cleaned, showers have to be taken, the children, husband and wife, all have to be dressed in their best clothes, in honor of the Sabbath, etc., etc. Plus, a LOT of observant Orthodox Jewish families invite a table full (or more!) of GUESTS on top of it all!! I really envy those women - they run circles around me, who finds it stressful to have ONE guest!! 😱😉
Why are the girls wearing kippot?
It is wrong, Reform, sorry Deform!
why cover eyes
*Elisabett Viruet:* It's because usually the blessing is said before an action, but in the case of lighting Shabbat candles, the candles are lit first and then the blessing is said. The candles 'usher in' the Shabbat, therefore no fire can be lit once Shabbat begins, so the candles must be lit first, and then the blessing said. So, it's to accommodate that mitzvah, so that you are not lighting fire on Shabbat.
Wheres his beard! Shabbos not shabbat
