    I just finished a 4,300 road trip through 5 states and the Ecoflow Delta 1300 powered my portable fridge without any issues. My roof rack-mounted Renogy 160W solar panel performed equally well. With a panel like that, it's easy to keep your Delta station topped off during sunny days. But also being able to fully charge the Delta at a hotel in a pinch in less than 2 hours makes this unit the most awesome out there. It even worked fine in Arizona in 117-degree heat inside a parked SUV. That's toughness!

    Great tips. The Ecoflow solar panels have surprised me with their efficiency. Even during January, if the sun gets strong in Phoenix, the Delta1300 occasionally registers more than 110W of power coming in per panel! With a consistently strong sun, you can get a decent amount of charge from a single panel in just a couple of hours. Your tips are awesome because they cover a host of other situations. Thank you.

    Great video Charles - Thanks. I just recently purchased the Delta 1300 and hope to be using it for weekend camping trips this spring/summer. I've discovered on the web that one of my favorite campgrounds has a free Level 1 (120v)/Level 2 (240v) EV charging station right next door to it. Have you heard of anybody using a level 1 EV charging station to charge up their EcoFlow Delta? I don't know much about electric vehicles or how they charge, but I think the level 1 stations are just standard 120v power receptacles that the car owner then plugs his charging adapter into. If you or anybody else could provide some insights on this I would really appreciate it.

      I’ve never been asked that before and I absolutely don’t have an answer for you. Sorry. I don’t know how you would hook up a connection to the Delta. I know you can certainly do that with Adelta Pro I’ll beyond that I don’t know. We are out camping and I typically take one Delta 1300 and my Delta Max on shorter trips. On longer trips I take two Delta 1300s and the max and we have power off and enough that we’re good. Be safe out there.

That's what I did and I've already got some good responses. I was only referring to the level 1 - 110w plugs (also called EV trickle chargers) and I am told that 99% of the time here in the U.S., they are just standard NEMA 5-15 outlets. So I should be able to just plug in and charge. Of course I would try to go there either very early or late in the day, and yield priority to actual EV needs, but it should be another option.

    • @charlesmoman
      @charlesmoman  3 года назад

      Most "solar generators" do shut down after a certain. time IF the usage falls below a certain amount of watts. And, some of them have unregulated 12v ports that drop below 12.5 after the battery drops to say 80% or lower. The Ecoflow has a regulated 12v port, so it will not shut off as the capacity remaining drops. So, I am pretty sure it will keep running a 12v fridge as long as it has power remaining.

    How would it take to charge the unit using my car? Thanks from hurricane Ville U.S.A.

    • @charlesmoman
      @charlesmoman  3 года назад +1

      Personally, I don’t recharge it with my car 12v cigarette port. Why? The Delta’s fast recharging pulls or tries to pull so much juice it can overheat some vehicle’s port. And it can stress your alternator. Now some report no issues at all.
      If you try it, make SURE to keep the plug in tight. If it gets loose, than can cause overheating and in rare cases it will melt the plug. One of the problems is, that the wiring to the cigarette ports is pretty thin wire.
      I have gotten a heavier cord that I can run from the car battery into my vehicle and at the end it has an XT 60 plug. That way I could charge directly from the battery to the Delta. Having said that, I likely will not ever use it. The Delta recharges is so fast, I can get a charge back up at campgrounds very quickly. Or if we stop at a laundromat, they will usually let me plug it in and recharge it. The Ecoflow Tiver Max and River pro units, work with an app on your phone and you can dial down how much juice they will pull.
      Some people have a vehicle with two alternators or they put in a more powerful alternator and that can help the issue to. Just be careful that you don’t overheat wires when recharging the Ecoflow in a vehicle. We don’t want a fire in our car do we?
