I'm so stoked that you guys are putting out more of this type of information. Life is all about choices, and any extremes in those choices will lead to some sort of likely negative outcome. Coke isn't evil, sugar isn't evil, meat isn't evil, vegans aren't evil (although blasphemous IMHO). All kidding aside, educate yourself and make good, balanced choices. Thanks for helping people understand this guys and for calling bullshit for what it is.

I looked up ‘orthorexia,’ and actually got a laugh. Not that the subject is funny-it is not. It was about me.
I starting training again, a few years back. As the time went on, I became more and more careful about my food purchases. This is no surprise, as I switched to nonfat milk and whole wheat bread, forty-plus years back, in my college days.
So, I am in the stupormarket, walking from the veggies to the bread, looking at a box of something I had selected. Suddenly I came to a stop, thought, “I’ve become one of THEM, the people who scrutinize the nutrition labels, and compare them carefully!” After a period of dead air, I then thought, “Not a problem. It is actually useful, and it is not an obsession.”
Every time I tell this story, it gets a laugh.

Mike is so right when he talks about how offensive the "secret cancer cure" conspiraloons are. I think sugar having such a bad reputation in some circles is due to how easy an intervention it is when a person wants to lose weight and then failing to realise that there's a big difference between an overweight person trying to cut and a person who's at the weight they're happy with eating what they like within the bounds of maintaining that weight.
I really enjoy your videos and articles. I appreciate the nuance. It's lacking in all areas of life. You should consider politics.

(besides all of their valid points) Did I miss the part where they mention the fact that the actual situation being portrayed is absurd? When you are basically on your deadbed, even if you were morbidly obese... wouldn't it be ok to let your dying husband have a massive bar of chocolate? I mean, at this point it is too late... are you really gonna walk around hospitals and take away coke from kids on chemotherapy? Give me a break... That photo would have been way more relevant if it was a picture in front of a fast food restaurant.

A can of Coke is not a big deal, but people are their habits, and the can of Coke is usually not a one-off; it is a stupid habit, like the cigarette. Further, the can of Coke usually means a host of other bad choices, that in aggregate are destructive of life. But, sure, a can of Coke doesn't kill anyone. I don't think we can vilify things like cans of Coke, just because we may care about people who make poor choices.

How about the 2nd law of thermodynamics as it applies to the earth timeline? How about the fine tuning of the universe, moral compasses, or free will? I came hear because I enjoy your perspectives on weight training and nutrition. You are clearly out of your depth and sound like the crossfit nurse when you get into religion. Stick to what you're good at and leave the theology to the scholars. Hope you're as open to exploring theories that counter to modern narrative as you ask your clients to be.
