My favorite part about that is in one of the alternate reality episodes, Rodney is the "dumb" person of the group and Shep is the new genius. Kinda plays on the idea that if they had both followed different paths in life they would have ended up doing some very different things.

Sheppard, O'neill etc. those kinds of guys they may not be tech savvy and they come across as dumb jarheads but they are actually still very intelligent to a genius level... just more so with leadership and tactics then being a scientist....

the fact that rodney is surprised by sheppards intellect always put a sour taste in my mouth because sheppard is a pilot, and airforce pilots are smart and have done alot of schooling to get to the position where they fly expensive military hardware at hundreds of miles per hour carrying explosive payloads. Is it just me or don't anyone else see the humor in that scene in the episode where Sheppard and McKay found what they believed was a game but instead they interfered with two countries on another planet, and Dr Weird are trying to take some sense into the boys, and Sheppard is commenting on McKay actually changed the name of "his" country? We all know that these guys always are picking on each other and gladly would take a chance to figuratively cut the balls of the other one. In this scene Sheppard does a Freudian slip calling McKay's country Geldar "gelding", couldn't be a much better way to neuter McKay! Not literally, of course.

In fact, the thing Sheppard picked up in this clip was just lying on the table itself. The box was nowhere to be seen. However, I think it's still possible that someone else (a technician, for example) placed it in the box afterwards. =P Maybe in preparation for their storage? And about the color... I rewatched the clip above a few more times and it does seem like the thing is clear blue. But it might very well not be. =P It's just the lighting. ;) A very bright light comes from below and it makes the thing look like it's clear because of the reflection of the light, but I don't think it's actually clear. It is blue, no doubt about that. So one might think that it's different from the 2 (Atlantis) communication stones in Identity because they looked gray to black as they were lying in the box. However, it could just be the lighting once again. The stones Neeva found in the village looked black when they were in their box (and as she placed it on the device later), but as she picked one up and looked closely at it, it looked dark blue as some (not very bright) light reflected on it. Plus!... Season 1 Episode 2, from which there are a clip or two in this video, is a favorite episode of mine. I don't know why, I just always liked the episode. There are many that I like though. I miss the series, and I miss SG1 too. I'd certainly love to see a new Stargate movie and a new series also.

Yes, Time travel is possible. You can sleep jump, to a point in the future, when you are of no mind and witness events.. You can go for a few minutes at a time. However, past events cannot be changed and future events can be slightly altered .. with side-effects.
