Scott Norton is a powerhouse! Used to love watching him head down to the ring yelling at the camera with Buff Bagwell on his back. He destroyed people! 😂 Sounds like an awesome dude too!
I don’t believe I ever saw a Scott Norton interview before. What a cool dude and great storyteller. It was a real pleasure listening to him. Thanks so much to the both of you.
Great dude. Glad to see him get some love. If the 90s where not so super stacked and he hadn't preferred Japan so much he would have been bigger in the US. Would love more wrestlers like him in the modern scene.
Finally the full interview. I've heard several of these clips. I had never heard any of Scott Norton interviews, but I really enjoyed the clips I have heard of this interview.
Excellent interview as usual. I was a big fan of Scott Norton in NJPW. I began following NJPW back when he was super over back there. An absolute tank of a wrestler.
Flash Norton embodied a physically imposing heel who could flip the switch and be an ass kicking face! The NWO never utilized him correctly. Great talent. Awesome interview. Love his stories about amateur wrestling and arm wrestling with rick rude.
Absolutely amazing talent but like you said he never really got that big push in the WCW but that could be said about a ton of guys I hope he at least got a serious payday
Been waiting on this one. Usually dont watch the clips until full interview is released but couldn't resist them this time. Scott norton is one of my all time best to ever lace them up. Glad he is doing good.
I loved this guy as a kid watching WCW, he was intimidating, total badass, and I just had a sense that he was a good guy in real life and this conversation proves myself right. I still need to pick up his book.
James, love the Content!..long-time subscriber. PLEASE try to interview The Boogie Woogie Man Handsome Jimmy Valiant BEFORE he dies! You & Jimmy would be GOLD!
@@jamesromero have you had Marty Jannetty on before? I'm going to aew collision on 4-20 an hoping to meet rvd and others as my buddies work security that night

Later I get it in 2024. If he would allow, I would pay for dinner and drinks all night if he shoot the shit with a total mark like me. Greatest interview to date for WSI.
As a 9 year old kid I thought for sure that he and Ice Train would win the WCW tag team titles. They had a feud that I was really interested in. Then they teamed up to form Fire & Ice. I was hyped! Man, WCW really dropped the ball.
Great interview as always! Just thought I'd add , if you take a large bath towel or dark bed sheet of some kind, and tac it over that window, it would probably solve that incredible glare, until u can get your blinds put up. Lol
The brick wall outfit he had when he was in WCW will forever be iconic to me. And there is a video of Over The Top 1986 on RUclips that shows Scott Norton slamming Cleve Dean like he was nothing.
I definitely hope you manage to get a follow up interview with Scott. This is probably my favorite interview yet and I would love to hear all about his North Korea experience.
I like how Scott points out how he told Chris when he taught him whatever arm wrestling move he taught him n told him 'no matter who they are or how big n strong they are if they aren't truly trained in arm wrestling and don't know this move or how to do it better or faster than u then this move alone increases ur chance of winning by at least 50%.. In the Mnt. Rushmore conversation it's very difficult to pick 4 guys even if you separate tag teams I really think The Butcher needs to be mentioned at least and so many other guys what a tremendous era of pro wrestling and Japanese pro wrestling in particular so many amazing athletes and performers and that's not even mentioning any of the Japanese talent btw great interview seriously
Does this address the Giant saying on Austin’s podcast that he beat Norton in an arm wrestling match? Norton has said no wrestler ever beat him but that wasn’t in response to the Giant.
Love this menu but I need a picture of the wrestlers that are mentioned. Sometimes their real get used & I don't have a clue of who they are...I'm an old fart that needs help!
Some good stories but Scott does like the blow things up a little. John Nord was never 6’7. He was 6’5 at best, likely nearer 6’4. There are state down pics with Goldberg and Nord in 98 and Nord only has an inch on 6’2 Goldberg. Cleve Dean wasn’t 600lbs in 86. His heaviest competition weight was 445. 500lbs behind the neck press would be the heaviest ever by a HUGE margin. Brain Shaw only managed 425. Only 15 mins in and with these whoppers I’m not sure how much of anything I’ll believe. A shame as the real stories are impressive enough and don’t need to be embellished.
So you claim that Nord was 6’5” but a sentence later he’s 6’3”? Which is it? I can buy Nord as being a legit 6’5” comparing him with guys like Taker and Boss Man. As for the lifts, virtually all wrestlers exaggerate their lifts some but the 640 bench is legit albeit with a shirt. Norton was legitimately one of the 10 strongest men ever to compete in pro wrestling- given that takes in a number of world class strongmen and powerlifters, that’s a pretty impressive feat. People marvel at Brock Lesnar’s feats but he wouldn’t make the top 20
@@nbaldwin45 Ted Arcidi, Bill Kazmaier, Mark Henry, Tom Magee, Ken Patera...off the top of my head those are the men whose strength has been confirmed. Surely Norton is top 10 in terms of forearm and bicep strength but overall? I seriously doubt that. The competition is stiff.
@@miesvaillanykyisyytta3252 That's 5 guys you named. Don't forget that Arcidi by his own admission had a crazy huge benchpress compared to his other lifts.
@@nbaldwin45 Yes I only mentioned the guys whose lifts are known for real. Tony Halme who knocked out Norton was certainly strong and even dabbled in strongman competitions but I don't think he competed in powerlifting and I don't know of his strongman records. Ultimate Warrior, Barbarian, Goldberg, Hercules Hernandez, King Kong Bundy, Big John Studd, Scott Steiner, Ice Train, Davey Boy, Ron Simmons, Crush, Billy Jack Haynes, BNB, The Road Warriors, Rick Rude etc. all were jacked and usually tall and I'm only mentioning wrestlers that were relevant in the 90's. No Bruno Sammartino era guys and no guys from the zoomer era with the likes of Braun Strowman. Scott is a legend in the Minnesota wrestling scene. One of many greats from Minnesota.
His book is actually one of the best wrestling autobiographies and one I would classify as a must-read.
Norton was the biggest and strongest looking dude I saw as a wrestling fan. Good to see he’s a down to earth guy, great interview and clips
Fantastic conversation, well done!
Norton has aged well. Better than a lot of wrestlers of his era.
And he's alive.
He was one of the few from that era that had some self control and knew when to stop.
Minnesota crew dead checking in!!!!!
I bet he learned discipline in Japan
