- So you got yourself a CD009 and you need the shifter to end up in a better location? We got you. Enter the the GKTech shifter relocation kit. Everything you need to get that thing lined up on an SR20. Keep in mind shifter placement will differ for other engines.
Just 85mm from the rear of the bolt holes on the back of the gearbox.
Designed from scratch with over 200 hours spent modelling, prototyping and testing we are happy with the final result. This design DOES feature reverse lockout.
- CAD designed
- No OEM parts required to fit this to the rear of a Z33/Z34 transmission
- Features reverse lockout
- Shifter sits just 85mm from the rear of the bolt holes on the back of the gearbox
- Thread for shifter is M10x1.25 (same as S13/S14 SR20 Nissan and many others)
NOTE: Does require cutting of the rear selector shaft (very easy to do with a hack saw blade or cutting disk)
NOTE #2: Will not work with gearbox yokes larger than the OEM Z33 yoke at 90mm in outside diameter
NOTE #3: Fitment is based on running an SR20, KA24, VQ35/37 or RB20/25/26. If you're running an engine that sits further back then the shifter will sit further back.

Dan you are the man.... they need to make you the CEO of Gktech lol
Jaygoesin I am in a round about way the CEO of gktech usa ;)
Just received my today for my G35 JZ swap cannot wait to get this build complete and now my transmission setup is complete
Excellent Commentary really made this video go along well.
For those who aren't graced with a shiny clean transmission, in order to remove the shift yolk on a rusted JY trans you'll need to cut the yolk off flush and use a 2-jaw puller to remove the base of the yolk off the inner shift rod. It doesn't just slide off like butter as shown at 2:12 lol
I wish i knew of this kit when i had my z34 gearbox, I ran it on my car and wasnt happy with how it was ended up selling it. Gear ratios were pretty good, just hated the sloppy shifter
I have this set up, am I able to swap this setup out with the Strike Fast shifter?
That is a great question for the aussies as I don't have an answer! Sales@gktech.com
Damn dude long time no see lol keep up the good work man also maby hit up your boy Adam lz I think he was having trouble with that bushing Awhile ago don’t know if he ever fixed it the right way
Has anyone managed to make one of these shift reliably into 5th? Tried everything with no luck inc rebuilding the box.
Mine did! Shoot us an email sales@gktech.com
I have this shifter kit, my shifter must have not been adjusted as well as I thought and now the bushing at the bottom is stuck. Since the shifter won't come up and out, the linkage is still attached to it. And I cannot remove the front of the 4 bolts on the shifter cup from the bracket... so not only can I not remove the lever from the assembly to replace the bushing, but now the whole shifter assembly is stuck on the car as well... anyone have advice for getting either removed?
Shoot us an email at sales@gktech.com we will help!
Damn, you’ve been M.I.A.!
Right?? Sometimes life gets in the way of videos. More content soon!
Can’t wait
I have s14 with Sr20det and I will be using cd009 with mazworx adapter kit. This shifter kit will place shifter in oem location? so I don’t have to cut up my trans tunnel. Thanks
Correct!
Does this work for sikky ls swaps running cd009, or do I need to go with the pricier serialnine shifter relocation kit that's adjust an inch to 5inches?
Will this kit on a Lexus SC300? I have a 2j/cd009 swap. My shifter doesn’t have reverse lockout and it’s annoying finding 5th and 6th.
It will for sure fit in the trans... not sure about where it would line up trans tunnel wise however. This is definitely one of the shorter relocation kits out
This will work the same with a jk40?
Been gone making moonies huh? ;) Now that Charlie got the Well in, Tracks is finally saved.. When are You heading to track for practice? Would You mind showing me a few things? I tried keeping up with lance, bill & tony at Track day.. not much luck.
Lets do it. Let me know when
Hello Dan,
Does this also work for the 1jz/cd009 Combo?
It works on any cd009, but as for it it lining up with the shifter hole and a 1j, i can't promise anything! It will however be closer that the long one that comes stock on the cd009
Will my loj speed sensor still fit correctly with bracket fitted? Cheers guys
does it miss shift easy like the short shifter always do ?
Not that I have experienced!
Does anyone know if this kit also fits the 2JZ on a Lexus IS300? Would really appreciate it if someone could shed some light on this. Thanks
Like a cd009 swapped 2jz? It will probably be much too long for that, using my cd009 on a v8 in a 240, i have to cut 4 inches back on my shifter.
@@Officer_Dan Thanks man, kinda figured it would not fit. But I was curious. I am looking for an alternative to the SerialNine kit, which is kinda expensive.
I wonder how this will fit on my K24 CD009 frs ?
note: dont forget to tighten the bottom bolts while its *out* of the car…
Is this for any s-chassis. Application.?
This is technically for SR20 s chassis with cd009. I however had one installed on my v8 powered s13 with some slight cutting.
@@Officer_Dan how about ka24.?
@@Officer_Dan which conversion kit for the cd000X did you use?
@@Officer_Dan your v8 schasis with LS?
@@Officer_Dan how much cutting because I just got one lol
Having trouble getting my dog leg off after pulling pin. Anyone had this problem pls help thanks
Shoot us an email, sales@gktech.com and we will help all we can!
Haha he said this nuts
does this work in a skyline r32? I've heard that they won't be at the OEM shifter location, they move a lot backwards is this true?
Correct. This is 240sx / sr20 combo only.
@@Officer_Dan is there a way to relocate the shifter in a R32 to make it fit at OEM position?
@@k4iman you would have to re fabricate the bracket that holds the shifter itself but it could be done
@@Officer_Dan good to know, thanks!
The shifter rattles like fucking ass once you drive the car long enough for it to warm up.
That brass shifter bushing fucking sucks.
