- Hi! Here's a quick tutorial on how to set your tikka or headpiece for all those who love to dance at indian parties!

I really liked your video because I think this is helpful if you have bangs. Most of the people who have made videos have long hair with no layers or bangs in the front. It's like tikka was not meant for bangs. I'm gonna try your trick and see how it goes.

@@SimSagoo It didn't work out to well but that's because of two reasons. 1. I didn't have the glue to stick on the tikli, so it kept moving. 2. I didn't have hair spray on, so many bangs kept falling over the tikli which made me so uncomfortable. But still that was my bad. Thanks for your reply.
@@TurfaTasnim oh no! You can use any eyelash glue to stick it down. Are your bangs thick? If you don't have thick bands you can wear a chain kind of head piece which will show really nicely through any little gaps you have in your bangs :) xo

Can you tell which hairspray you use
I use either Tresemme no. 5 (the freeze hold) or Silhouette. Elnett by Loreal is also really nice! Just make sure when you use the hair spray hold at about 30 cms away from your head to get a fine mist all over. Don't hold too close or it will get sticky! xoxo

On my wedding day I’m going to be changing from a white dress to traditional Indian but I’m gonna have half up and half down hair, I’ve also got a side fringe, how shall I set the tikka? I’m planning on keeping the same hairstyle for the marriage and reception just add it on but I can’t think of a good way to do it so I don’t have to do too much to my hair xxxxx
Ah congratulations! If you have already done your hair there isn't really a way to hide the chain of the tikka without opening the hair. The other option for you is to pin up one side or pin loosely for the white dress so you can open up you hair to hide the chain for the indian look. The side fringe is not an issue. It will work the same as the side parting in the video. You put the tikka on in a middle part and style your hair over it so it peaks through. Good luck! xoxo
mam may i use false nails glue insted of eyelashes glue??or with something else
Please don't use anything that isn't created for the face! There are a lot of ingredients in normal glue and nail glue which isn't suited for the face and may cause irritation/chemical burns. PLEASE BE CAREFUL! xoxo

I have previously tried bindi glue which I found by chance in India but it doesn't work as well as lash glue. If you are looking for something else you just need to make sure its safe for use on your skin. I personally have not found anything safe and better than lash glue :) xoxo

If that mang tikka is short then how can I wear DAT ? Becoz heavy tikka I don't wear it like long I only use short chain tikka . please tell me how to wear short tikka with open hair
You can use an extra pin to hook into the hook and make the chain longer. Or you can use some black/hair-coloured string to increase the length. I think what I would do is put it in as I have shown how ever long the chain is and do a pouf from the front to hide the short string and the pins :) xoxo

You don't need this comb to create a pouf. You can use any comb. It is all in the technique. I will do a video on this because I get asked this so often! xoxo

I'm not sure who would be the right person to talk to but I would suggest to just add a bobby pin into the hook as I showed in the video. At least that way the booby pin is hair coloured and doesn't show! 😘

My hair is so silky so when I set mangtika in side mang my hair covers the mangtika

You need to use at least one day old hair for this. Freshly washed hair makes it harder to set. If your hair is still silky then use dry shampoo to add texture! xo

You can use any eyelash glue under a tikka. It will stick and not move but it will also not irritate your skin xoxo

Hi I️ have a question because I️ want to make sure I️ don’t culturally appropriate a maang tikka because I️ am white and I️ want to be very respectful of course and I️ wont wear one of course if this is.
I️ have an idea of a sun goddess costume for music festivals (as I️ go to them regularly). If I️ wore a tikka to a music festival, is it cultural appropriation?
I️ am not Indian or Central Asian, so I️ really want to ask and be respectful
I’m so glad that you asked so respectfully. For me personally as an Indian, I don’t have a problem with a non-Asian person wearing a tikka AS LONG as they understand and respect the cultural significance of it. I would say an example of cultural appropriation would be someone wearing a tikka as a fashion statement whilst ignoring/degrading all other aspects of asian culture.
I fully agree with what Tara said below. I don't find offence to it as long as you are respectful to all aspects of the culture. I actually find it so lovely when people of other cultures try to learn about mine. It makes me feel super proud! Go wear it and enjoy it! xoxo
