  • EZ Edge Corner Plane: www.woodpeck.c...
    Crisp, clean edges from your saws and planers make your joinery come together professionally. But those sharp edges detract from the look and feel of your finished piece. They’re also vulnerable to damage and can be sharp enough to cut. That’s why experienced furniture and cabinetmakers soften the exposed edges of their work with a chamfer or radius. The EZ-Edge Corner Planes, makes quick work of edge relief without changing bits in your router or plugging in anything. Just a few quick strokes with one of the four planes and you have either 1/8", 3/16" or 1/4" radius or 45° chamfer.

    Save some money and get the whole set - only $550. Really this should have a quick method of pulling it apart and just replacing the blade with what you need for the project rather than selling another whole separate tool for each type of edge profile you want. 8 screws to hold this together, it would probably work fine with 4-5. This is where marketing is just trying so see how much they can soak the customer for, rather than designing an efficient blade change out system. Woodpeckers gone mad.

    These tools are very nice, but honestly day to day I use my custom hand built piece of wood. It works great. And I can do inside radius’s as well. I’ve got several options on it. Change sand paper when it gets dull.

    Using a hand router for edge rounding or beveling leaves a lot of chance for boogering up the edge by accidentally tipping the router.

    For those wondering it's $500 , blades $150. Hard pass shouldn't be more than $70

      Stop with the false information. Each set (body + blade) is $160, extra blades are $25. Buy all 4 sets for $519. Or do what I'm doing: For 'only' $235, buy one set (body + blade) for $160 and the other 3 blades ($75), so you can get all 4 edge treatments and 'save' $285. Yes $235 is expensive, but it looks like the blades and certainly the body will last "forever". If you're in a production environment then you can justify buying multiple sets and avoid the blade change time. For me, changing blades is a small price to pay (and saves me the $285 cost for the convenience of getting all 4 sets.)

    • @peterjthompson1967

      Yep. You can buy one plus the other blades to switch out

    • @WoodpeckersLLC

      Yes, they do. There's only one body. Any blade will fit. Set of four is for convenience.

    It appears you can swap out the cutter heads for different profiles but it isn't expicilty mentioned in the video or website. Can I buy one body and swap in the blades I want to use? I might use 1/8 almost all the time but may want to have a chamfer on hand.

    • @scottschucker4820
      @scottschucker4820 3 года назад

      Yes you can. RUclips search "How to change cutter on EZ edge Corner plane." I bought the 3/16 radius the first time it was offered and it's a joy to use.
