the Windsurfer, Mistral SuperLight and the Alpha board were all great fun.....then the manufacturers cut all the boards in half, increased the price and the sail wasn't included. Please send me a free hat.
Had a few Bic Vivace's, 282, 270, even the Saxo 265 with the crazy Turkish slipper nose. So much fun. Was racing in Tenby on the 282, 6m North Prisma, did a backloop over the finish line right in front of the ITV news helicopter. Good times :)
Namutu video was and is one of the all time classic windsurfing films. That shot of Josh Stone smacking the lip and disappearing only to pop back up between the waves is just epic....yeah, I'm THAT old but still sailing !!
Oh Ben, it's so great to see your enthusiasm, I look forward to seeing more of it! If I hear you need more content, I should think about sending some of that. And about the beer money...I know, I know.. I watch every one of your videos and it's finally about time I think💩xD
Cant wait for the event to happen!!!!! We are going to see more and more of those wing videos + the wings against kites or windsurfers. Its going to be the thing in the near future. All wings should be see thought.....by law. 🤣🤣🤣. Also they should teach them to use their neck and look around before gybing/tacking.
Bic Presto! bought used at a swap in Michigan, mid 90's.. good practice schlogging on the local lakes.. Did get it to Little Traverse Bay on Lake Michigan a few times.. Eventually got something a little wider in the tail..
I got started with a Metal Rock (3m long, 62cm wide) given by my uncle in 2010. I was still using that while some were already using foils on my spot :)
I still have a Bic Melody, that my Dad bought for us kids to learn on, and my 16 year old daughter has had a few lessons on it since, still going strong, it's almost a family heirloom now :) My first (short??) board was an AstroRock and the old man had a Vivace, which I remember being a superfast board, though he had too much of a beer gut to get it properly planning.
Bic Allegro, talk about bring back wave slalom, I used to take this out in the waves, pretty quick down the line, huge air and many a cheese roll. I may or may not have jumped clean over my mate Mike Poole when he was trying to waterstart.
I think there is a Gaastra video of Laird Hamilton going wide out on a needle in huge waves and making massive jumps at speed. I had the tape back in the day and it was my fav!
wow big flashback I just saw La bic allegro... the first speed board sold in series. Serge Griessman has more than 36 knots with this same float!!! in 1988 or 89... and that's not to mention its rigging... it makes you think! rigging named UP maybe next time interview Serge Griessman? S10 fast rider ✌
Have surfed this break, and it's not a break you take for granted, when it's cranking. Super excited to watch the live streams for this event. So hope the event is a big success.
I have a BIC Presto, Picked it up from the tip for $10.00. I just got back into windsurfing after a 35 year “break”. Love this channel 🤙🏼

One of the best episodes! Story from Michele, Ricardo and then the retro slalom videos!! Keep it going!

Bic Vivace182 and Bic Allegro for me. Awesome value for the speed freak.
Also, I kinda feel bad but I have to admit that Wing crash made my day 😂

You too Ben. Hope you're having a wonderful Sunday :)
I had a Bic Alto! Half of it is sticking out of a wall in my flat. 😉

Kids are shredding 👌🏻👏🏻👏🏻💪🏻
I had a Bic Allegro. Surprisingly easy to sail for a speed board. The Jimmy Lewis slot fin didn't do the speed any favours though 😂
So what's stopping the wave slalom? Sailors or pwa? Just about every windsurfer you speak to can connect with wave slalom

Bic Allegro was a weapon! I loved mine back in the day.

Its a Ford Transit
Cameras for everyone!!!
100% the best sport !!! 😊

I learned to harness and get in the straps on a Bic Reggae. I was jammin dat reggae, mon😂
Never had a Bic.
First short board was a Tiga G*n (can't write that word, I think the comment will be flagged). Next one was Tiga Slalom 268!
😎🤙

That is not the windsurfing I am familiar with...
