Decoding the Dazzling Darius Garland - Player Breakdown / Scouting Reel
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 30 май 2019
- Darius Garland is a creative, thrilling 6-2, and 175-pound guard originally from Gary, Indiana. He spent a short season of college basketball at Vanderbilt for Bryce Drew, the man who always looks like he’s getting ready to take an offering, hold the hands of an older lady, thank her for her green bean casserole and pray. Might be a good career path for him now that’s he’s been fired. I KID! (I’ve been fired, I get it.)
Darius is the son of Winston Garland, a bucket-getter himself, who spent eight seasons in the NBA with a variety of teams, from 1987 to 1995. Garland the Younger is a painter with the basketball, but he’s somewhat of a mystery, having suffered a season-ending meniscal injury to his left knee after only five games.

My favorite time of the year - Dime Drop's draft scouting analysis!
Haha... I was just about to comment something similar
So not the playoffs?
you probably dont care at all but does anyone know a trick to log back into an Instagram account??
I was dumb forgot my login password. I appreciate any help you can give me.
@Santiago Chad Instablaster :)
Crazy to see the path his development has taken where his passing and lob throwing is now his most elite skill.
Yeah he's extremely skilled in the pnr now, I'm glad he progressed this much.
His playmaking has gone up a few levels now
LMAO, that heavy southern accent part killed me
It’s always a great day when dime drop uploads a video
Solid combination of analysis with game footage to back up what you’re saying. I’d love it if you could do a breakdown video of De’Andre Hunter in the near future
Seeing a shoutout to Stephen Root and also Barry just gave me a huge smile watching this
A new dime drop vid is a blessing from the gods.
basketball gods*
Take care of Kyrie, my man. I wanna see Knicks vs. Celtics in playoffs
Sad that he did not get the chance to prove himself this year at Vanderbilt. Would have been fun to see him develop into a even better player.
Fast forward to the 2021/22 season and Garland is about to break out as a star in only year 3.
2 years later…. CAVS in the hunt for 1st in the east
Wow, Mobb Deep instrumental background, pleasant suprise
Phil Moore nas lol

Garland is gonna be an allstar in the nba.
Jose Covarrubias very soon as well
Nice analysis...though I see some lapses...Garland was rated number 1 pg in college before the injury...his shot is next level...he in my opinion has the lowest percent of being a bust because of his shot and shot creating dribbles...
Fun Fact: Dime Drop is by far the best Basketball Content Creator
Actually him and thinking basketball
Top notch analysis my man. And well presented. I learned a thing
Looks like Friday is going to be even better than I expected now
Literally asked for a Darius Garland analysis on your last video and you delivered!!
This is probably my favourite channel of all time.
can you do Cam Reddish? I want to know your take on him, if he can be a star, I just learned he playing PG in HS.
His motor & inconsistency is his weak spot
But having watched some of his highlights in the clutch, he has that DOG in him
And that’s always a + in terms of a future star
I was like number 1,000 on this wonderful video. Keep up the great work.
2 great channels appreciating each other. You love to see it.
The passing lanes clip had me dying. 😂
The editing is always on point.
Always love it when a dime drop video shows up
Cavs are definitely going for something here. You mentioned Dylan Windler as well in this video, do you think you could do a video on him? A less hyped prospect but definitely slept on as well.
Come for the scouting and dead-on Southern accent, stay for the "What We Do In the Shadows" meme. Top content as always!
Honestly some of the best presentation on RUclips thankyou!!
Awesome. Haven't seen much tape on him. That shot is eye-popping.
The country accent lmao, you should do Cam Reddish next
This video aged about as well as that dorito that’s been under my bed for 4 years

Huh?
Solid Breakdown and the cuts were pretty funny!
More content please! I love this channel!
i love underrated sports analysis like yours
Love this channel! lets see some more draft prospects PLEASE!!!!
Do Coby White next!
Every drop is a gem.
The Jason Terry comp is a great match
Man I love your videos so much. Such in depth analysis. Would you like to also add the position that the players would probably be drafted at? And are you going to do one for Reddish?
I’m really excited to watch these videos in like 5ish years to see how accurate these predictions are.
Great video as always. Wonder when anyone will stop saying he had a 5 game sample - he played 4 games than tore his meniscus 2 MINUTES into game 5. Just really illustrates how small the sample size is
Best time of the year!!!
MOOOORE CONTENT
You sir are the best at . Thank you
What a pleasant way to start my day
Just found ur page, I love ur content bro 🔥🔥
You have the best voice on RUclips
Love your vids bro
So your 'What We Do In The Shadows' reference killed me. Do Jokic bro!
I played him two years ago while he was at Brentwood and he was one of the most graceful basketball players I’ve ever seen.
ANOTHER UNDERRATED VIDEO!!👀💧
Love the video, are you planning on doing a Romeo Langford video?
That Should Be A Must
I came for the analysis. I followed because of the Surviving The Times instrumental
Could you do an analysis of Nickeil Alexander-Walker? I remember you were super high on SGA last year and his cousin NAW has a lot in common with him, although he’s more of a combo-guard. I love the way he moves without the ball and gets himself open.
Love the vids dawg, keep grinding
Thought I recognized that voice from The Ringer. Great here and there.
The Wax Room is the best beat of all time.
Surviving the Times!! Love it
Respect from germany for your well made high quality content. What makes you so enjoyable is your positiv approach to all issues, of course you point out weaknesses and critical situations of players, but you never flat out hate on someone. Very respectfull and important in our times of internet hate speech, stephen a.'s and skip baylesses where the loudest gets the attention and not the one who has a point. Keep up the great work!!!
don't sleep on Carsen Edwards that guy is a lights out shooter
he had 40 something points against Virginia
"oh fuck yeah a dime drop video"
great video, please do a Coby White video 😩
Welcome to Cleveland! We need 3 or 4 more ballers..
Yesss!
I think all 3 draft picks are ballers
He’s like a pg version of buddy hield
it’s simple. dime drop? i click
Love the videos, respect the nas instrumental
I'm waiting for that Jarret Culver breakdown!!
Nephew Darius, we're sticking with that.
Definitely. @Dime Drop can you get on that ™️? And start pitching a "Nephew Darius" ad campaign for Crystal Pepsi...
dime drop is a religion at this point.
Drop the cam reddish analysis before I go to camp plz
Phoenix needs this kid so bad. He'd take both the scoring and playmaking load off of booker which would lead to his game being a ton more effieicient.
praise the dime drop gods
I think a realistic projection for Garland is an elite 6th man. One of those "instant offense" type dudes similar to Lou Williams. I believe he'll fall somewhere between a solid bench player and an over-average starter.
Will Cushman i think he has some Lillard 2.0 in him
The earlier Dame style which he was good already
But
Not the Top 5 dame today
This kid will be a superstar
That's a pessimistic projection tbh. All his highschool career scouts have praised his pg skills and vision. He prolly didn't adjust yet, remember he just played 5 games. He's not the pure scorer type his college career shows him to be.
I think he will be a Stephen Curry type of impactful player with his quick and accurate shooting.
Cool instrumental. Name of the song is Berner ft Nipsey Hustle - Wax Room
Thanks bro🙂
Can you guys make a video of Culver or 3 of your underrated/sleeper players in the draft??
Killer job bro
his dad was a substitute teacher at my high school my junior year so i gotta fw him lol
How can you access Synergy Stats? I see a lot of people using these numbers but I can't find them. Is it behind a paywall? Great analysis on Garland btw. I like him. I think Jamal Murray and Jay Williams (pre-injury) are good comps.
i like him, don't love him but i can see him flourishing in a couple of years if he lands in the right spot.
Not a playmaker, but can shoot the ball deep that is about it for now.
gave u a thumbs up from the opening instrumental
thank you, i wrote that
Another great job. I see him as a Damon Stodamire type player, but may be as good at Lillard.
Completely agree with the assessment. The first time I watched him play, he just looked like a backup point guard. He has some elite skills for sure, but without the playmaking or finishing ability he's a 6th man on most teams.
I would love to see one on both Gonzaga guys.
I’ve been waiting for this.. fuck yes
He is the clear best shooter in this draft
Best handles in draft as well
Plays off contact really well which will go along way in NBA
He is big enough and long to be ok if he works hard at his craft on defense but he deff not going to be good at switch , teams will always go at him with the switch but hopefully he can use it to fuel his offense play and feed off teams trying to punish him personally on defense and he goes back at them on his side of the ball
His passing game needs work but he can get way better at that
anybody else remember when jason terry was the truth for the mavs in 2011 lmao
Love the Nas background music🔥🔥🔥
Mobb Deep - Back at you
Lmao I love your comparisons for these coaches, bet let’s talk about your boy Calipari always looking like a cars salesman
Oh I make fun of Cal all the time
I'd love to see a comparison of Steph at Davidson to now so you can show the path that a smaller offensive guard can go on
Breakdown Kevin porter jr! He’s underrated
Hey JKyleMann- can you do a proper Zion breakdown?
I have some ideas for Zion
@@thedimedrop8153 sounds good- ill be lurking on Twitter till it dawns :)
idk how he doesn’t have more subs
My new 2nd favorite college player
I’m a simple guy, I see dime drop release a vid, I click on it.
His sidestep seems to be a travel a lot of the time, taking extra steps other than that he’s pretty smooth from what little I’ve seen
More plz
Would you say Ben Gordon is a fair comparison for Garland, and if not, what differentiates the two?
It's looking like the lakers are gonna either pick him or Hunter. Could you do an analysis on hunter soon?
Garland is an Allstar now damn
That southern accent was sublime
Easily my favorite player in the draft
