i guess im asking randomly but does anybody know of a method to get back into an Instagram account? I was stupid forgot the account password. I love any help you can offer me
@Duke Fox thanks for your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm in the hacking process atm. Takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
This song came on Classical MPR (Minnesota) on June 19th at approximately 9pm. I remember clearly because I found it so incredibly moving that I literally pulled off the road and stopped my car to soak in its beauty. By the end, I had tears in my eyes. Without understanding a word or knowing the song title, I could feel the lamenting. I went to the station website to learn more about it and eventually landed here. Actually seeing it performed makes it even more moving-- the energy and commitment of the violinist is electrifying. This is one of the most lovely pieces of music I've ever heard and I feel truly blessed to have experienced it in my lifetime. Bravo, Sir Jenkins!
I was 10 years old when this tragedy happened. I remember watching it with 4 brothers and 4 sisters on a black and white telly. It was truly heartbreaking then as it is now. What a beautiful performance, especially the children.
I recorded and watched the performance. It moved me to tears! I remember the event so well. I was 13. I felt numb and traumatised by what I saw on black and white TV. I was very very angry with God! A senior master in our school commented: "You did not have your head bowed in prayer during school assembly. Why not?" I replied: "Why did God let Aberfan happen?" He said nothing and I bottled my feelings up. It became a real stumbling block to my faith for the next 20 years - before I was able to reconcile that it was the Coal Board and not God to blame! Thank you to the composer and performers. It was a fitting memorial work. Bless you all... and the people of Aberfan.
That must have been so traumatic for you; I'm not surprised your faith was shaken. But I'm glad you've come to realise that God was not to blame. God is not the cause of the terrible things we see today and very soon he will undo all the effects of suffering, including resurrecting those who have lost their lives such as those poor children www.jw.org/en/publications/books/bible-teach/is-this-what-god-purposed/
You mean to say that your all seeing god didn't know the tip was going to slide ? If only he had cared enough to make it happen an hour earlier, the following day, which was a holiday, or not at all. F... your god.
This is moving and brilliantly wrritten, made more so by the children coming from the Welsh valleys and numbering if I am correct exactly 116 the number who died. The violin , the nearest instrument to a human voice is amazing!! A true cry!! I was the same age as these children 11 Years old and it was the day my childhood ended. Adults have no answers and are powerless even to defend children. What is so terrible is to me is that the injustice of the huge amount of money that was collected from all the world was taken by the powers that be to remove the very slag tip that buried those children!! It was the biggest injustice this country has ever done!! What is the second travesty??.......That given the chance to show this amazing moving Cantata was only available on BBC Wales!! English viewers had to rely on Classic FM to broadcast it, and eventually BBC 4 show it after the 21 st October!! Hardly a fitting remembrance!! But.....perhaps there was a reason!! They didn' t want us to hear in one of the pieces the words sung by Bryn Terfyl " Buried alive by the National Coal board". Enough said........rest in peace little angels.
Speechlessly beautiful - all the tragedy, desperation, chaos and grief 'held together' by an underlay of calm resignation - pure 'feeling' as only Karl Jenkins can compose.
I honestly believe that Karl Jenkins is way ahead of his time. I listen to a lot of modern orchestral, and his music creates such a large but fluid, ethereal atmosphere. Truly moving.
and again..... and again..... playing for the third time and heading to amazon to purchase the cd Thank you ... Thank you on this the fifty first year after the disaster of Aberfan
I just looked for you and saw your pretty face! Thank you for giving the world this exquisite performance. God Bless all of you. I have now bought your Cantata Memoria on iTunes.
captures the emotions stirred by such a terrible event. RIP all those poor children and adults who lost their lives that day Lest we Forget god bless them all
An absolutely stunning composition and performance. A beautiful tribute to those who were affected by the Aberfan disaster which happened on 21st Oct 1966
This is extraordinarily emotional. Joo Yeon Sir is superb. What a fitting memorial piece. One of the most moving compositions I have ever heard: I love how it weaves the vocals, violin, chorus, all with distinct tones into a wonderful tapestry. The violin soars and dances over the somber vocals and orchestra, like the human spirits escaping as the mud and sludge descends on the village.
A fitting tune in memorial for the children of Aberfan . Superb violinist and Bryn Terfell with Catherine Thomas in the Welsh language . My heart cried.
AH!!! You guys use headphones!! ha. I've been listening to Karl Jenkins music and was wondering why our church choir can't just sing like you guys. I suspected you sing in a kind of studio environment with 10000% concentration.
I loved playing this violin solo a few years ago! It was so touching, this moment made me cry every time! I wish I still had the sheet music! 😭 I just have the solo parts
Beautifully sung by Welsh children about the same age as those who perished. SO sad. The video of the visit to the cemetery is unbearably moving. I watched the live TV coverage of the 50th anniversary and was in tears throughout. Well done again, Sir Karl. You have captured the bitter grief of this Valley.
We have the absolute honour of performing this work at Carnegie Hall in New York in January 2017 with Côr Glanaethwy from Bangor North Wales. facebook.com/CorGlanaethwy/
Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata mundi, miserere nobis, qui tollis peccata mundi, dona nobis pacem. Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world, have mercy on us, who takes away the sins of the world, grant us peace.
This would make a very beautiful song to skate to, alternatively I could definitely imagine Yuzuru Hanyu skating to it professionally. His performance of hope and legacy and Romeo and Juliet are very similar to the aura given off by this song. Especially as his Romeo and Juliet free skate was created to personify the earthquake and tsunami in Sendai, Japan.
I was watching the Cantata Memoria on BBC last night. It kept me spellbound, to say the least. The Lament For The Valley brings me to tears. What a wonderful piece!!! I am deeply impressed by the performance not only of the soloists among which Bryn Terfel has been one of my most favourites ever. Also I bow to the children's choir. They did absolutely marvellous. Is the Cantaga Memoria already avaliable on CD?
What happened back then was so terribly sad one cannot imagine how heartbroken not only the parents, siblings, grandparents of those killed on this dark day were left. The many, many men and women coming to help proof that in times of despair there's always that human touch in our hearts that makes us what being human means. This music, the whole piece is so beautiful and I am so happy for your having been part of such an utterly important performance. Being a choir singer myself I know this performance will always be in your mind, sould and body. No matter what life my throw at you ;-) Please keep singing!
It’s a fantastic piece of music. Ukraine is under attack and I can’t watch the news any more today….but this music expresses all I feel in my heart….seeing our fellow humans terrorised, attacked, uprooted in such a brutal, mindless and cruel manner.
He-s Welsh, he remembers Aberfan. I remember it as as aa kid. It broke my heart and I lost my faith in a Westminster government ever looking after the interests of my Wales (Cymru). I weep even now, thinking about it.
Perfect. And a phenomenal lead Violin. Gifted musician.
Tears...unbelievable solemn and piercing.
Omg...the children...
Tears just fell off my face....
Wow!
Karl Jenkins is a genius ! He is one of the best , or probably the best modern composer !
I agree. It is beautiful. Not heard it before tonight
Absolutely right!

This man is a genius. I am so proud of him as a Welshman and a musician myself.
He’s amazing.
You’re proud because you share an abstract, meaningless and externally created and imposed classification created by somebody else, with a stranger?
This lament is so beautiful it is almost painful.
...puts how we love ... into perspective...and how each moment....is simply precious x
Very beautiful; I weep again to hear it. I still remember that terrible, terrible day: 21 October 1966.
Another anniversary of the tragedy of Aberfan... we will remember them.
The lament for the valley, so sad it always brings a tear and i feel the pain in my heart those poor poor children
Me too. Not only for those children but for all the children in the world who are suffering.
Душа наизнанку !!!🙏🙏🙏 Это гениальная работа!❤️❤️❤️ СПАСИБО 🙏🙌🙌🙌
From Russia with love ! Moscow.

Listening to this again today and thinking of those families and the way we let down children still today 😔
Bravo! Well done Mr.Jenkins.
