Hi! my name is Evan and I'm super stoked you want to learn more about me!
I show people how to build their businesses. I learn a skill, test it with my own companies and share it!
I got my start by selling CDs at 13 years old. I’ve worked as a fry cook, I’ve mowed lawns, built go-peds, managed restaurants, sold mortgages, worked in Hollywood, and sat at a desk. I’ve cold-called, done graphic design, pounded pavement, traded crypto, and worked on an ambulance.
I finally settled down and devoted my life to becoming a firefighter in my early 20’s. It took me 5 years of training, fire academies, and paramedic school to finally land that job.
I spent 8 years of my life answering 911 calls. Now I get to pursue my real passion, which is building businesses and educating.
My first successful company is called Scorch Marker.
I was building a commemorative plaque for the fire department in my woodshop and desperately wanted to burn our motto “together in, together out” into the wood. So I pulled out my wood-burning tool, plugged it into the wall, and screwed the whole thing up!
But my wife and I had found another way. We created a chemical solution that reacts with heat. We were inspired by RUclips creators! You apply the liquid to wood, apply heat, and the wood burns only where you drew! Pretty cool right? We invented the world’s first wood-burning marker - Scorch Marker.
Little did we know that this was the beginning of something big. We agreed to spend $500 of our savings to see if we could turn the idea into a product. 2 years later and we got into retail, became a bestseller on Amazon, created jobs, and made a lot of mistakes.
It’s the mistakes that are important. Those are the valuable, teachable moments that doers get to enjoy and learn from. They make you stronger.
Building, maintaining, scaling, running, or managing a business is not easy. But it can be done!
That's why I'm here. To teach what I've learned so you don't have to make the same mistakes that I did!

Crazy this is the first RUclips video I watched to start 2024. I followed you on TikTok during the pandemic when I was thinking about starting a business but not sure on some things.. now almost 4 years later, I have plans in place and wanting to make the jump to starting a business and found your videos again with the advice I need. Great strategy. I’ve had the S corp in the back of my head since I started creating a business plan, and it was my understanding that even with a simple LLC you have to keep minutes, make quarterly payments, ect.

What it you live abroad? I haven’t lived in California for over 5 years now. I don’t plan to come back anytime soon. And I want to file an s-corp in a state that makes sense. Can I file in Florida for example even before changing my domicile in CA?

If I do online personal training, would buying gym equipment count as a business purchase? If I use the equipment for content creation and explain workouts using the equipment?

Thanks for this! I’m a beginner when it comes to this and I had the idea that I had to have seperate bank accounts for each business/source of income, for example if I had two or more businesses. So can a person have one business bank account and have all the money from say, 3 sources of incomes, to go to that one business bank account?

If i open a llc for a new business and then get a business account with credit card but business has no income yet am i able to pay off the card with my personal account?
But wait a minute. This is too overly simplified for brevity. Just having an LLC & an EIN isn't all you need to open a bank account. You still need your other paperwork (Articles.of corporation) to get one and if you don't have one (not all registered agents) supply one or supply a fully compliant one that is needed. As far as to *where* the LLC is formed & where your company is operating..if you have a *Wyoming* Holding company, your business would be owned by IT and it controls the company no matter where it is..

I want to set up a trust and holding & operating companies in California. There’s so much content out there talking about starting this in another state as well as “subscribe to my program” but they don’t offer the actual services of setting up my structure. I like the part about not putting my name in public records, and not for secrecy but for privacy. I understand the registered agent role.
