The one thing I love about Nissan is how they actually did the paddle shifters correctly where it doesn't move with the steering wheel. So many manufactures such as Audi have sick cars, but they have no clue what they are doing when it comes to paddles. Good job Nissan.
+James D Why use paddles on a cvt... I guess people like to pretend. Hard gear shifts are not necessary, and it will maintain your optimal power band if you let it and don't let ignorance confuse it for sounding like it is 'stuck in first gear'. It has an infinite amount of gears being adjusted on the fly to keep you in your power band, that is not rev limiting kicking in, it is rev maintaining. The paddle gear box manually re-positions your location on the gear, and only works to slow you down. Don't use the paddles man, thats a backwards step. Just redefine your expectations on rev behavior to match the movement of the speedometer.
Of course, peoples ignorance always prevails, and they hilariously fault the cvt gear box at being bad at pretending it only has a set amount of gears.
I own a 2013 maxima btw :P So not hating on the car. Just hating on the fact they had to include it to appease the ignorant.
It is quite funny however when you tell someone you beat them in a race without ever leaving first gear, and see the confusion on their face when you win.
Michael, this is the best review I have seen so far for the 7th generation Maxima. It was thourough and you took your time and covered almost every single feature. Very well done. The only thing missing was the test drive and it would have been perfect.

@@John-ym9ic yes, gear to drive then gate it toward yourself for Ds mode.
I got a 2011 max sv with technology package I bought in 2014 with only 9900 miles on it. I have 72,000 miles on it now and it runs and drives like a dream. I had a ‘05 max before this that I put 220,000 miles on it before I let it go driving 3 hours round trip to work and back. Im now retired and don’t hardly put any miles on my 2011 and plan on keeping it for a while

I have a 2001 maxima SE and I love it! Of course it has had its issues, mostly just common things for an older car like new tires, needed the fluids changed, and a few other minor things. It is a very solid car and it still rides great and runs good too.

Damn my cvt failed under 70k! Replaced with a new one last month
@@dallas218 my god, sure I had to replace the abs control board, alternator, starter, brakes, calipers but not yet the cvt or engine lol

I my traction light comes on and stays on at times and sometimes it doesn’t but other than that so far so good.
Hoping it doesn’t cost me too much more to own this car for quite some time

If it's a 6 disc CD changer, then there would be a "LOAD" button on the right side of the CD slot. If it's not there, then it's just a single disc. The 1 - 6 buttons are most likely the radio station presets.

Good job man keep it up!! just next time give the cam to somebody else or zoom out a little, you were way to close to details which is good but remember that's an hd camcorder so we can see everything pretty good, really bugged my eyes (cheers).

What bugs me is how people review the highest trim level...oh well.
and why is that? i love high trim level reviews cause that’s usually the only trim i buy for any car, but i can see why people wouldn’t like it if more people tend to lean towards buying more affordable cars with lower trims

actually, the 2002 models can also have a common issue with the timing chain.
i just got a maxima 2011 sv same as the car in the video but im not sure if its a 6 cd changer car, because i can only put one disc and thats it so im curious whats the 1-6 buttons in the car? im not sure if its broken or its just how it is. please help thanks

i google ACCORD , CAMRY ..even those cars have problems that only the dealer can fix it , extended warranty gives you peace of mind ..for 6 years its about $1700 , its like $25 per month or less than $300 per year ..bumper to bumper ..it`s that worthy?

I don't have that authorization to do any test drives at the moment. I think what I will start doing though is filming a bit of the driving portion around the lot when I go to put the vehicle back into its parking space.
Buy an older maxima with low miles, buy a body kit, buy suspension parts, headers, cams, spacers, 3" cattback.. cold air intake..
But all the parts you listed are upgradable.. Your fault for not getting an extended warranty..
Great car, but for about the same price, I would rather get the Infiniti G37.
