I thought that was pretty cool and was pretty disappointed to learn that was actually the first game that was true in and it didn’t get brought over to SV. I’m not sure I have the knowledge to say if it would still be barely used or if it’d be completely broken, so I’d be happy to hear your thoughts.
why is it that volbeat, a physical attacker.. learns tail glow.. a move that drastically raises special attack when illumise (ill-ew--me--zay) a special attacker cant? also why didn't most hoenn dark type pokemon learn crunch by level up?
I think Klawf would be better if he could learn shell smash on top of his ability anger shell. In a single turn you get +3 to speed and attack if your opponent hit you below 50%.
Calling them wasted goes against the beneficial points these pokemon have. Taking those abilities and moves and giving them to better pokemon takes away the uniqueness they have. Still, cool video idea
I think dynamax/Gmax was wasted potential. Yeah pokemon but big isn't very interesting on its own but if more pokemon got unique gmax forms I think it could've been cool
While I agree that Dundunsparce is extremely fitting and I do not find it to be a disappointment… I can definitely see why some people are disappointed given how long they waited for a Dunsparce evolution.
or alternatively, gamefreak is a lousy company that doesnt care about its fans or the design of the games/pokemon themselves (see pawmot line for reference)
I don't know why people were expecting something majestic out of a dunsparce evolution. It's a joke pokémon based on on a very silly cryptid/yokai. Why would it not have a silly evo?
Volbeat and Illumise are the ugliest pokemon, just after Kriketune. What in gods name were they thinking making these god awful bugs, it seems like GameFreak just hates the bug type altogether
i think electric not getting any consistent physical move is neat, keeps electric to a level of nicheness, similar to fighting or psychic as it's still one of the best types i dont think dudunsparce is disapointing, suits his useless silly pokemon status after people were hyped for him to get an awesome evolution for nearly 25 years, other mons have already filled the awesome evolution on a useless/jokemon
Firstly dudunsparce is peak and secondly I wouldn’t say these are wasted at all. Like not every mon has to be good and these moves and abilities are great additions to the mons that get them.
Disliked it before even watching. It's not about "wasted potential", it's about "giving those bad pokemon a reason to exist by having an unique niche". If we had another pokemon with Tail Glow and Baton Pass, why would people use Volbeat? Want me to give an example using good pokemon? Dragon/Flying type. We have Salamence, who has Intimidate and a good mixed set. We have Dragonite, who keeps getting better tools every generation (Extreme Speed, Multiscale, etc). And we have Altaria, which is... bad. Except Altaria is the most used Dragon/Flying in the competitive GBA era when legendaries are allowed, because of the move Pursuit (which no other Dragon/Flying has), allowing it to remove opposing Deoxys from other teams. If Dragonite or Salamence had it, Altaria would never be used...
One dumb defense I hear for Dudunsparce is to _"have a sense of humor"_ about it. I ain't laughing. The Yo-Kai Watch series has its own tsuchinoko named Noko and they gave that cute guy at LEAST 20 forms based on its line INCLUDING a huge hulking dragon form (look up 蛇王軍ツチノコ and you will see what I mean). Compare that design to Noko to what Game Freak did with Dudunsparce. Now THAT is what I call comedy.
Shadow Side Tsuchinoko is both A) Essentially a regional form and B) Also a joke, all Shadowside Yokai are edgy evil looking version of the base Yokai.
"Dudunsparce was a bad evolution" massive L take. Just because you didnt get a giant badass dragon doesnt mean it was a bad evolution. It is entirely YOUR fault for gaslighting yourself into turning Dunsparce into a completely different pokemon than it actually is. Dudunsparce is a very fitting evolution and actually makes sense with the pokemon.

I feel like Ivy Cudgel - Rock is kinda wasted. Not Ogerpon Cornerstone is bad per se just if you're using Cornerstone you're not using the other Ogerpons which are much more used so more accurate stone edge just kinda sits around
You mean one of the only accurate physical rock moves in the game? From what I’ve seen and heard, it’s actually gotten more popular this regulation because of the added value of Sturdy being built in better focus sash
Still gotta say anticipation for me is the worst ability, I’d rather have a hindering ability then to let the opponent know I’m weak to them, other than that it does nothing (and forewarn is just a better anticipation)
Imagine Ampharos, let alone Mega Ampharos with Tail Glow
Have you covered mechanics you’d like to be taken from PLA yet? Frostbite, turn-limited boosts, and the one this video brought to mind: wild charge and some other electric moves causing a Pokémon to be roused from drowsiness. I thought that was pretty cool and was pretty disappointed to learn that was actually the first game that was true in and it didn’t get brought over to SV. I’m not sure I have the knowledge to say if it would still be barely used or if it’d be completely broken, so I’d be happy to hear your thoughts.
It would be a massive nerf to Electric types.
@@AztecCroc it would be a massive nerf to electric types for Pokémon using spark and wild charge to be able to wake themselves up from sleep?
@@AztecCrocyou mean Electric Terrain?
Not every mon has Wild Charge you know
not related to the vid but why does scraggy get dragon dance but not garchomp when one is a child and the other is a dragon type land shark
why is it that volbeat, a physical attacker.. learns tail glow.. a move that drastically raises special attack when illumise (ill-ew--me--zay) a special attacker cant? also why didn't most hoenn dark type pokemon learn crunch by level up?
Mightyena and Sharpedo do. Shiftry and Crawdaunt aren't exactly gonna bite. Cacturne doesn't even have a mouth, just holes.
well there any better? they di not give them night slash so better give them crunch
Wait... toxic with a poison Mon has 100% accuracy??
More than that, it can't miss at all even if the target is using Fly or other such moves.
@AztecCroc that's crazy. What gen did this start?
@@BenD_Bass Gen 6
I think Klawf would be better if he could learn shell smash on top of his ability anger shell. In a single turn you get +3 to speed and attack if your opponent hit you below 50%.
wait, what? why is baton pass banned in singles???
Calling them wasted goes against the beneficial points these pokemon have. Taking those abilities and moves and giving them to better pokemon takes away the uniqueness they have. Still, cool video idea
Dudunsparce > disppointing
Ph boy someone missed the point of the joke pokemon getting a joke evolution again
I think dynamax/Gmax was wasted potential. Yeah pokemon but big isn't very interesting on its own but if more pokemon got unique gmax forms I think it could've been cool
Anyone who says dudunsparce is a disappointment missed the whole point 🙃🙃
While I agree that Dundunsparce is extremely fitting and I do not find it to be a disappointment… I can definitely see why some people are disappointed given how long they waited for a Dunsparce evolution.
@@greenmcbean6429jaded old heads are the only people disappointed
I mean GF was never going to match the expectation set, so Dudunsparce might as well become a comedy masterpiece
or alternatively, gamefreak is a lousy company that doesnt give a shit about its fans (see pawmot line for reference)
or alternatively, gamefreak is a lousy company that doesnt care about its fans or the design of the games/pokemon themselves (see pawmot line for reference)
Dunsparces evo was amazing, why improve on perfection
Does ditto get 5 PP on revival blessing?
Nope, only 1. Current PP cannot exceed max PP.
As dumb as it sounds but Lightball should half work on all Electric Pouch Pokemon and give its full effect to Pichu and Raichu.
Volbeet and Illumise are glorified??
I don't know why people were expecting something majestic out of a dunsparce evolution. It's a joke pokémon based on on a very silly cryptid/yokai. Why would it not have a silly evo?
Swobat has simple AND stab stored power
Anger shell is just a fail outright.. cause if the enemy runs a piority move you can kiss those stats good bye
Volbeat and Illumise are the ugliest pokemon, just after Kriketune. What in gods name were they thinking making these god awful bugs, it seems like GameFreak just hates the bug type altogether
i think electric not getting any consistent physical move is neat, keeps electric to a level of nicheness, similar to fighting or psychic as it's still one of the best types
i dont think dudunsparce is disapointing, suits his useless silly pokemon status after people were hyped for him to get an awesome evolution for nearly 25 years, other mons have already filled the awesome evolution on a useless/jokemon
Firstly dudunsparce is peak and secondly I wouldn’t say these are wasted at all. Like not every mon has to be good and these moves and abilities are great additions to the mons that get them.
Oh pawmot because he can defib
Imma say sketch maybe?
Bro thinks an offensive stat slightly above 100 "isn't good enough"
Correct
It's true unfortunately. That's powercreep for you
Power creep my dude
Dudunsparce is a du-disappointment. 😢
Du-Du-disagreement
