What fields are best to buy for pen placement? Would it be the smaller ones near my farm, or larger ones elsewhere just because they’re larger? Also, where do you get so much food from. Is it all stuff you grow in your own fields?
For placing anything (house, shed, animal pen) it's best to find the flattest spot you can find. The flatter the field or open area, the less costly it is to place something. And less likely to screw up the land around it. As to the animal feed - these are tutorial videos, so I set them up intentionally. However, when I raise animals, I ALWAYS grow my own animal feed. The cost of buying feed kills any profit you might make from the animals.
It seems that out of all the animals in the base game, pigs are the least cost effective; I wonder if selling the crops I need to grow to feed them will bring a greater profit than farming the pigs in the first place? Hmmmm, I might do them at some stage, but as much as I love bacon, I'm not sure making my own is cheaper than going to the store. :)
@@HarvsWorld I don't mind wasting 'Uncle Phil's' money on an experiment like that, so long as I bribe him with the bacon after the analysis is done I don't think he'll mind. :)
Good question. Prigs reproduce really fast, so profit should be possible. I haven't tested it, but I'm sure you make more from the pigs. Remember, a full feed trough lasts 10 days.
Be nice to pigs they are much like a dog if kept as a pet they are kinda lovable and btw a batch of pigs can dispatch a human body in a couple days don't believe me do some research.
How big do your fields need to be to adequately feed them?
Depends on the number of pigs you plan to have. I just play it by ear.

Thanks for the advice mate 🤘🏽🤘🏽
@@EamseyBoy My pleasure. Please feel free to ask questions. :)
Great tutorial video's. Just discovered your channel. Will you do tutorials for fs2022?
Absolutely! Lots of FS22 tutorials coming. Thank you.

When you've finished your cost analysis of selling crops vs feeding pigs, please let me know how it turns out! ;)

@@andrewbaxter9834 I'm sure you're right. Bacon is the fairy dust of the food world!
Do you make any profit at all compared to just selling the feed and straw?

Yes, many people keep pigs as pets. No research necessary. This isn't the first time I've heard about a pig's effect on a human body.. :)

Yes... yes you are!
@@HarvsWorld I'm glad you are making these types of videos
@@cavemanstechgaming9811 Thanks! Me too. I've learned quite a bit making these. Hopefully I'm passing that info along effectively.
@@HarvsWorld it seems like it to me
