The Late Great George Hawkins on bass. Supremely talented - and probably the funniest guy on the Planet. We played much music together - and hung heavy - back in the 80's - when that meant for days/nights at a time...he could rock, and was one of the most soulful humans ever...
Hey , I just remembered those sax notes from the beginning Albums , Yea! I can actually remember your tunes . I’m pleased . Thanks for this Channel . Mike is my name . I still enjoy these riffs .
I am 60+ years on this Earth and have appreciated the music of Jim Messina for the lion's share of my life. I saw Jim Messina perform only once at a casino in California in a small, lounge type set up. He broke out a flute and mandolin and played one of the finest and magical sets I have ever heard. I truly hope I get an opportunity to see this legend in person again. Jim, you blessed me with your gifts.
I love the music of JIM since i was a young student in germany. Now ... I am 72 and i admire the precision of JIM and this extraordinary band. Best of the best .
George Hawkins on bass. He did original vocals with Loggins on whenever you call me friend. Amazing voice! also did the cool bass stuff on This Is It by Loggins.
Saw him last night in Englewood NJ....with POCO and it was EXCELLENT. more than worth the drive from central PA. 3rd time seeing Jim Messina (prior Waterloo village NJ with Poco 1989 and L&M like 10 years ago at Shippensburg . Ship was a cool show in that I/we were introduced to Gabe Dixon music as he toured as their pianist. Last night demonstrates the TALENT of Jim's guitar gift and his band was solid . Fun hearing the horns and violin with Jim's guitar.Bassist and drummer provided the solid sound. Thank you and consider coming back to Central PA. Truly an excellent show!
Amazing things happen when quality musicians get together. Pretty rare stuff in these times dominated by pretenders somehow making fortunes though never on my dime.

"Magical" is correct:)
Jimmie is one of the most under-rated Guitar Gods out there.
Fantastic!!

Gary Oleyar on violin. A world class musician who is barely known
What a stage--overflowing with virtuosity.
This is amazing. I wish I could see them again. People forget, I think, just how good a guitar player Messina Is. And RY on steel? Brilliant.
Already got our tix! Can't wait. Saw Kenny in Cincy...now it's Jim's turn.

i've seen dueling banjos, dueling guitars, dueling drums, but violin vs sax and it was spot on!
I've grown up listening to Jimmy play. No one come close to the STRAT Tone this man can conjure!!
