This is a Choppin' It Up that I hold near and dear as I've always wanted my brother to open up on what he's gone through in his lifetime. It might be hard to hear some of these things, but the purpose of all this is to show you that no matter what you are going through you can change and you can become whatever it is that you want to be, simple as that! Hopefully you enjoy this video, if you do make sure you drop a like, leave a comment letting us know what you thought and subscribe if you haven't already!

Respect man for turning things around. I guess the biggest take away from this video for anyone with depression or suicidal thoughts is to get help and don't go through with it. Awesome things can still happen to you no matter how low you may feel currently about your life. LP - any chance that guy who said you'd never reach your goal weight was trying to stoke your fire to get you motivated or was he 100% sincere? Great video guys, I'm sure it'll help a number of ppl out.

I've suffered from depression for a year or so and I've been watching your vids for a couple of years now! I've always loved your videos because of your positivity in the face of your personal struggles.. I've noticed LP on your channel and I had no idea that he shared in the same struggles as I did.. Hearing about his problems reminds me that I'm not alone in this fight and I look forward to more videos like this and I hope LP posts some similar content on his channel (because I just subscribed)... keep posting vids guys because there's people like me who truly look up to you and look to you for life and fitness advice (and a good laugh)! I'm also a vegan and watching your vids keeps me motivated in my lifestyle change! It's so refreshing to see another bodybuilder who recognizes the impact of our food choices and decided to make a change! Keep up the good work boys! Much Love!

I find that people who go through mental illnesses are the most compassionate people, I've been told that myself as well but I feel its who I am too, either way it's a very powerful story and you're a strong dude, LP.

I love you guys! LP thanks for sharing your story of the dark place, I too experienced it once. I actually drove to the river and started walking to the water determined this was it, I couldn't take anymore. As I got to the waterline something stopped me in my tracks and I sat in the sand and started crying my eyes out. I thought about how much it would hurt my parents who had just went thru the death (natural/sudden) of my brother. Then I thought about my kids, and my brothers and sister and anyone that it might hurt and I could not do that to any of them. I am so glad that I never went thru with it because I can see now why I was to stay.
Both my parents since have passed, dad (terminal illness induced suicide) mom (47days later of a broken heart) and a brother (depression induced suicide). What I have learned in the past 5 yrs I am stronger than I thought.
So if anyone reading this is in a dark place, Please realize this is only temporary and that I may not personally know you but I Love You and I am sure I'm not alone in loving you.
    ❤❤Thanks for the video Brian & LP!❤❤

LP your advice is how i live my life. I can relate to you in that i literally can get along with ANYONE. i can have a great conversation with a 5 year old, a 25 year old, a 40 year old and a 90 year old lmao! but yehhh the KEY (bless up) is to be kind to everyone and burn no bridges. everyone has a different story and it's useless to live your life hating on people!

I grew up very similarly... monday tuesday at one house, wednesday thursday at the other house, friday, saturday, sunday at house one. And that alternated every week. It totally sucked as my parents lived 45 mins away from each other so i missed out on a lot of stuff as a kid having to go back and forth constantly. All my friends lived on my dads side of town lol i had no friends at my moms.

I don’t know what to do, if I’m not using my time to hate mysel I used to be horribly insecure. I’m sure most girls are insecure at one point or another, and I’m not trying to say that I never have moments where I lack self-confidence. But five years ago, I remember often sobbing hysterically because I hated myself so much. I spent the entire time convinced that everyone in my life secretly hated me and more importantly, should hate me. I was too ugly to even be worthy of friendships. I did not trust any of my friends because why would they want to be friends with me?
It is a major factor into why I developed my eating disorder. Why I used to drink too much, and why I always craved attention.. Thing is, when you’re that self-loathing, you punish yourself. You can’t help it. I punished myself all the time. I didn’t take care of myself the right way..
I started going to therapy.. At first I was talking about so many random things I had no idea if I was even making sense. I even gave myself a hard time about going to therapy.. “You are so fucked up that you need therapy, Other people don’t need it”… “What makes your life so important that you get to go all “me, me, me??”… When in reality a lot of people go to therapy, and a hell of a lot more people should! It is good to be self-aware.. It is totally okay to be all “Me, me, me”.. It’s my life after all..
I overcame the eating disorder with the help therapy, my then partner and online friends.. That lead to me doing a Personal Training course so I could help others be fit and healthy, hopefully helping to decrease eating disorders..
There I met a wonderful friend.. Together we battled the fear of teaching a dance class to 13 people, with two examiners marking us.. Not only did I teach the class but I passed the course with a distinction… I COULD NOT believe I did that.. ME! The girl who was too afraid to do a presentation in CIT and took a -10% overall exam result for not doing it.. I also got 90%+ in Nutrition and First Aid courses, because I chose to believe in myself..
Next came Wrestling Class… Where I finally figured out, I’m actually okay in social groups… I made many wonderful friends. I know that I’m not the societal ideal, far from it. There are definitely people in the world who do not think I am beautiful or attractive. There are people out there who probably think I’m annoying and ugly. But that’s okay. I don’t need the entire world to think that. I’ve come across plenty of people in the world who think I’m interesting and like the way I look, and, most importantly, I like myself. In fact, I think I’m awesome!
I don’t hate myself anymore.. I suddenly have all this time and energy and I have no idea what to do with it..
