Hey Steve, just a little correction of the battery's SOC. The useable range is from 13-90% and not 30-90% as you said. Hook up any OBD2 dongle and any app, you'll get confirmation. Nice work all around 👌✌️

That's fascinating! I mean, it does make sense given the range. But it's bizarre that the app reports 30 - 100% charge by contrast (obviously wrong on the top end, but apparently also on the bottom end).
Thanks for the correction though. I'll be sure to mention this.

The smart key disable is gonna be handy when I wash the car…maybe it’s just me, but the smart key lock/unlock that happens during a hand car wash can be annoying.

Yep, agreed. I started disabling mine when I was washing also for that reason!

You have to hold the lock button on the car door and the seat button at the same time, not the lock button on the remote.
Full disclosure, I didn't figure that out, I saw it on Brian Ruperti's RUclips channel.
Also: I got so excited when you started to talk about the HUD polarization. I thought you were going to tell me a way to change the polarization of the HUD. But alas it was not to be.
Edit2: Wow, just saw your map, we live near each other lol , hello neighbor RAV4 Prime brother!

Woah, THANKS! That's awesome... and really confusingly worded in the instructions! Haha.
You in Louisville? That's wild - I've only seen one other R4P in our entire area, and they happen to live in our same neighborhood. Hope you're loving yours also!

@@OtherSteve I am loving it so much! I'm over by Iroquois Park, so not down the street, but yeah, in Louisville. My R4P is an XSE with the 2 tone Silver and Piano Black. I'm not typically a Silver car lover, but man I think this thing is gorgeous.

@@BrownCoatFan Wish mine was silver. My first one was, the 2023 XSE without premium package. I certainly didn't need the premium package, but due to some crazy life circumstances, specifically the fact that my wife's Honda Pilot had a failed transmission that was going to cost us $10,000, and I received a text message from a dealer that exact same day about this particular RAV4 Prime coming into the stock, I actually now own two R4Ps. Lol. Great car. It's really one of a kind.

Thanks for the video, they're very informative! I didn't see an option to set the temperature for the climate preparation. Is that option available?

Unlike remote start/remote climate, this feature simply defaults back to the previous cabin temp setting when the car was last powered off.

How did you know about the dealer control functions such as the changing of the cooling seat fan speed and keyless window and sunroof open feature? Do you have a contact in the shop who told you this? The reason I ask is I want to know more about TPMS, and is there any shop dealership settings on thier computer diagnostic screen such as enable or disable this system totally. Also the cooling seat fan speed in my R4P XSE with tech package is great but my 2023 R4H limited seat cooling is very poor and I don’t hear the fan at all on high. I think the dealer needs to check the settings in this case.

It's in the owners manual if I'm not mistaken, the appendix perhaps?

Are you able to start the car with the key remote control?

    • @OtherSteve
      @OtherSteve  11 часов назад

Not in the traditional sense, because there is no reason to start the engine remotely on a hybrid, but instead to simply put the vehicle in "ready mode", which indicates that power is being drawn from the onboard traction battery. In this mode, conditioning of air can take place, which is more or less the only reason a person would want a remotely start the vehicle anyway.
