    I find it funny that Great Hammers deal more stagger damage than a Colossal weapon/sword in this patch, on top of being slightly faster than them. Even easier with Cragblade. Even without Cragblade, you stagger stuff easy now. Glad that charged attacks got some love in this game by staggering stuff and rewards you with proper aggression and knowledge of the bosses and its move set.

    • @pc574
      @pc574 2 года назад +5

      Hammer type weapons in general (fists, hammers and great hammers) do more stagger than sword types but they do less damage. They also typically have less range

      Colossal weapons feel like such garbage. Colossal swords feel pretty good but colossal weapons feel like way worse great hammers with no upsides.

    • @Madchimpz
      @Madchimpz 2 года назад +3

      Yeah, being encouraged to be aggressive to keep a enemy's stance break bar going is very satisfying and rewarding, and makes me love the stance break mechanic. At first I never bothered with charged attacks against bosses because I thought it was too risky with little reward. Throwing knives are also very useful because it prevents their stance break bar from going down when you don't have an opportunity to go in for an attack.

      @@Jordien at +25 the brick hammer gets an S scaling in strength which is super neat but yeah you do have to defeat Margit in order to obtain, whereas great mace you don't need to. Great mace definitely looks cooler yeah but there's a nice charm to having a brick on a stick as your primary weapon haha. It's so simplistic that I like to pair it with the Knights armour set, which also got buffed to be viable in PvE. Dual greathammers are among the best duals you could use, all the poise damage of 2 heavy weapons, and they're quick enough to do 2 L1s against malenia.
    With 80 FTH i had 2 great stars with prelate slam and golden land, a blast of a playthrough

    • @Madchimpz
      @Madchimpz 2 года назад

      For dual jump attacks you definitely do get bonus stance break damage, but it's very stamina heavy and you don't get much of an increase to poise damage when doing regular dual wield attack. So 2-handing a weapon is generally more ideal for stance breaks. Dual great stars with prelate's charge is insanely fun though for the huge amount of lifesteal.

    Are all great hammers equal in stance breaking power, and you went with this because you can get it early on and it has high damage? Je materai bien une run complète avec ce build ! D’ailleurs tu fais comment pour les pierres à partir du +7 ? Perso ce qui m’empêche de faire ce genre de builds c’est la galère pour trouver des pierres pour être en +25. Pour ça que j’utilise que des armes qui utilisent des pierres sombres c’est + rapide et moins chiant.

    • @Jordien
      @Jordien  2 года назад +3

      Les armes normales sont clairement plus énervantes à monter que les pierres sombres, mais ça se fait avec de l'effort. Typiquement je trouve les pierres +1-2 dans les mines de Nécrolimbe et la Péninsule, puis les 3-4 dans celle de Liurnia des lacs (les petits temples éparpillés sur le lac ont souvent des pierres +3) et les mines aux alentours de la capitale pour des +4 et +5. Une fois ça fait, je fonce à Morgott puis aux montagnes pour récupérer la perle cinéraire des ruines de Zamor qui débloque l'achat de +5 et +6. Et enfin battre le duo sanctechair pour les +7 et +8. Le pierres ultimes se trouvent aux montagnes, à Farum Azula ou chez Mohg/Malenia etc. C'est possible d'obtenir les +7/+8 avant Farum Azula si tu explores Solcastel et le champ de neige consacré (qui a une mine), mais c'est assez long, sur les runs normaux (hors RL1 et autres challenges) je préfère affronter directement les sanctechair pour la perle et aller plus vite !

    Havent played ER in a while but isint the great mace parriable? Does it do more or less poise damage than colossal weapons?

    • @Jordien
      @Jordien  2 года назад

      I don't know about the parrying part, but the Great hammers class does as much (sometime more, sometimes less depending on the weapon) poise damage that colossal weapons, while being generally faster. So they're meant for staggering specifically, more than just big damage numbers

    • @Jordien
      @Jordien  2 года назад +1

      Backstab do much, much less damage. It's 2x less damage than ripostes, you can see that in the first 30 seconds of the video since I land both critical types on Margit back to back
