This group is ICONIC and this song is a CLASSIC, it's like the bohemian rapsody of the Kpop it's a mix of so much songs 😂 but oddly it kinda works
This song is called the Bohemian Rhapsody of Kpop!!, this was divisive at the time but revolutionized kpop in a lot of ways and was way ahead of it's time!!
Edit : Fun Fact- when Jessica says before the last chorus, let's bring it back to 140,it means 140 beats per minute, and also the first drop was 1 minute and 40 seconds into the song!!
Interesting fact: When Jessica says 'let's bring it back to 1:40'- it's a double entendre; she's referring to the time stamp 1:40 but at that point they also defer back to the section where the BPM is 140. Super smart if you ask me

Chun Li Ummm it’s sort of hard to explain but I’ll try - It’s a term that refers to ‘beats per minute’ in this case the bpm of the music after Jessica says ‘let’s bring it back to 1:40’ is 140 (as in there are 140 beats in the music per minute at that point) so that’s how it becomes a double entendres :))

Why on earth would a *boy* group be called *Queens* of Kpop or National *Girl* Group Korea (I think you mean Nation’s Girl Group)? That’s like calling SNSD the *Kings* of Kpop in spite of them being female or SuJu the *Queens* of Hallyu. Also, plenty of other legendary (legends of Kpop) groups. For example: H.O.T, S.E.S, Shinhwa, TVXQ!/DBSK, Super Junior, KARA, T-ARA, SHINee, 2NE1, Bigbang, INFINITE, etc. Do not try to act like SNSD are the solo grand hooplas of Kpop. No one with more than a single brain cell (or complete lack of any knowledge regarding Kpop) would believe you.

@@yunqive7859 I think GG set the standard for large girl groups doing light, pop-y music. 2NE1 showed that girl groups didn't have to do that to be successful (though obviously they can if they want) and introduced a new style. 2NE1 is my personal taste, but I have some Girls Generation songs too.

Loooool everyone's faces every time the beat changed. Honestly, that was most people's reaction the first time they heard I Got A Boy. Even kpop fans were "????" about it when it came out. Many SNSD stans wrote long paragraphs explaining why the song is so disjointed, and the meaning/intent behind it back then haha. Regardless, somehow over the years, it's become some kind of SNSD classic, and after you hear it enough times you come to accept it's craziness? or maybe we're all just crazy and nostalgic, but I don't blame you for having this reaction haha. I'm DEAD at Monroe bringing it back to BAP, because on that video, I mentioned the love might stem from nostalgia too. I hope you'll react to another SNSD song in the future though, because this is definitely not their typical sound. Personally, I vote for "All Night (Clean Ver.)" or "Genie". The clean version just means it's not the documentary version.

when i first heard the song when it came out, i was overwhelmed, but literally earlier the same day i caught myself humming the "i got a boy" part over and over again.. then i was obsessed so much to the point where i knew the whole song forwards and backwards. what im saying is, despite it being so chaotic, even if you hate the song, the song will find some way or another to grow on you.

they are the only group that pulled this kind of concept amazingly. they intentionally did different styles and genres into one song that made them so versatile. at first I, too, did not appreciate this song of them because I cannot follow the melody unlike other groups who have songs that are very catchy. but as I listen to it many times, I started to appreciate the arrangement, the mix, the style that they incorporated in one song. and I think that's fcking amazing.

this whole song/comeback is the epitome of kpop. it's supposed to be shocking, different, creative. there is no limitation of what composers want to do and they tried it regardless and got a success out of it. more so, the excitement and the fandom culture also helps in bringing a song success. lastly is the fact that kpop is about the groups themselves and their abilities, not just the songs they sing! the fact that snsd was given this song and was able to pull it off like it's the greatest song in the world, that's something that everyone can respect and that built the hype for the song. i would never really recommend this song to non-koreans (who understand the lyrics and therefore enjoy the joke behind it) or non-kpop stans because they won't get the nuances behind it. if you want to listen to girls' generation, i would recommend watching their live performances of for e.g.: complete, all my love is for you, into the new world, etc etc
