I really like 1:20 when she's told that Thomas won't help her and Gally's voice fades out, because I think it shows how she feels. Thomas hates her now, and he meant so much to her and still does. Everything else starts to not matter, because the one thing that she hoped wouldn't fade has, and she can't see that he still cares about her. Teresa did what she did because she thought it was right. It doesn't excuse her, but she knows right then that sometimes right can mean many things, and sometimes the right you pick should be based on your friends. When she dies, you can see the way she looks at the Berg. She knows she could get on, she knows. But maybe, just maybe, she saw that Newt wasn't on there. Maybe she realised that someone who had been with Thomas from the start, the person who cared about everyone the most, hadn't made it, all because she had gotten Minho taken to WCKD. And maybe she knew that no matter what, when Thomas has Brenda next to him, there's a much higher chance that he'll love Brenda. She saw how Brenda was right next to him and knew that Brenda cared about him, maybe not as much as she did, but a lot nonetheless. And in a way, when she fell, it was kind of saying that she understood Brenda loved him. She was saying that Brenda could love him. You don't have to like Teresa, and you don't have to ship her and Thomas, but you have to admit that she cared incredibly for Thomas. And the fact that she died when she could have gotten on kind of proves that, because she knew that Thomas wouldn't be able to look at her without remembering his friend who had died because of her. She's an incredible character.
Agree with most of what you said but she knows Thomas will never love Brenda. Both her and Thomas knows it. She certainly felt guilty, tho I think she should have jumped. She and Thomas deserved each other 🤣
if thomas had loved brenda romantically in the films, they would have been together already and teresa would have been a witness to that when thomas and the others kidnapped her, even brenda knew she had no chance against Teresa when it comes to Thomas's affections, that's why she asked tohomas if he was in love with her, she didnt gave up her life for fear of Thomas choosing Brenda over her, you are totally looking down on Teresas character and painting her as an stupid tweenager with an obsessive crush, i dont think she had such a low self esteem to give up her life for something as stupid as guy chosing another girl over her, if she chose not to get on the ship it was probably due to guilt about all the suffering that many kids and people had gone through because of wicked and organization whom she aid on their cruel,authoritarian,paternalist,megalomaniac deeds, she's partially responsible for many deaths, even if she achieved her goals of finding a cure, she didnt felt like she deserved the fruits of her labor, she didnt felt like she deserved a peacful life in a post flare world
