My father owned a club in Chicago the 70's. And my father in law owned one in the early 80's in Lake Charles. Big city-small town. Both had to shut down because of killings inside the club. Where there's alcohol and music. A couple of fools will always eventually start an altercation. I wouldn't get into the club business unless those who sought out deadly confrontation KNEW they would come up missing if they put my patrons in harms way. If you don't have the attitude to do it or have it done. You don't need to be in the club business. Because you're gonna loose your investment with stupid .....

Unfortunately, when alcohol is involved, it doesn't matter where an establishment is. It's wrong for the mayor to try and shut the place down but, the establishments need to hire more security to cover more then just the front door. Usually fights happen once they leave the club in the parking lot, maybe with more security presence it would deter the violence. People need to settle down, and not just get pissed and think violence is the answer. Be the better man/women and just walk away. Prime example is the increased road rage incidents in our city.

@JIMBO Well, it really depends on the type of nightclub it is. I've been clubbing all my life here in the NYC/NJ area in predominately underground House music nightclubs and it's always peace and respect based on the love of music and dancing. Hardly ever seen a fight or an argument.

These business owners are placed in a difficult situation. The business model is having a good time at the club, but some people come with nefarious intentions and don't respect the establishment, the patrons, or themselves.

How can a Pastor be supporting to keep a nightclub open? A nightclub has nothing to do with with the black community. This is embarrassing to watch. The proof that this place needs to go is the violence that the establishment is bringing to the neighborhood. He's not the first person that has had to shut down due to violence and out of control behavior. I don't understand why he would even want to stay open after everything that's happened.

The people in the neighbor can't be lieing about this club. There are different people who have made complaints about this club. If the owner really gave a damn about the neighborhood, he would hire better security and clean up around his club when the night ends.

As a bi racial person who grew up in the hood I’m all for bringing up the community but I didn’t fall off the turnip truck yesterday . I also used to go clubbing back in the days it’s a hotbed for drug deals punks and for the most part a lot of shady activity. Not everybody that goes to the club is bad or up to know good . I’m older and a lil wiser now .But grandma used to say nothing good happens after mid night especially out on the street. If you want to help your community open up a boys and girls club for the youth. I wish I could. My sympathies to all the victims on both sides.

The City of Houston should be ashamed of themselves. The nerve of them to file suit against this business owner as if people aren't being murdered at gas stations , freeways, driveways and at red lights in Houston on the daily. The City of Houston couldn't stop all those kids from being trampled and killed at that Travis Scott concert. Now all of a sudden they care about crime at a club when they let out criminals on low pr bonds to re-offend like clock work. I wouldn't be wasting my time telling them what I do for the community and who I mentor. The city is just full of thugged out and drugged out criminals who need to be hunted down like animals and thrown under the jail cell. It's not that hard. Club owners gotta invest in police security like back in the day. In the 80's 90's and 2000's, police were present at many club scenes. There are officers that do those extra jobs for $25 to $35 per hour. Invest in at least 2 officers from 9p-2a. That's peanuts for police presence. I pray for our dear brother.
