On today's autism family vlog: we head to Legoland for our final trip of the year using our Merlin Annual passes before they expire, but it doesn't quite go to plan when within minutes of arriving Andy's trousers broke so we had to find him some new ones, then his favourite ride was closed and then when he wanted to go to his favourite restaurant to calm down, that was closed too! It all became a bit too much for him and we had our work cut out to save the trip...
In more positive news, we met Theme Park Extreme ( / @zachariahhassler ) who sorted us out with some fast track passes for the day - you should definitely go and check out his channel, and after the dust had settled Anna was almost in tears when Andy experienced something for the first time that she's always wanted him to see.

Poor Andy. It is always rough when little things spoil a big day. I am so glad it was able to be recovered and he has some fun memories (and a new hat).
Andy did so well regarding the circumstances and looked like he was enjoying lots of the rides especially the boats.
Depopulation of idiot lines is definitely going well lol
This vlog feels like a real marker in Andy's progress Kev! So much improvement in him processing difficulties and changes and especially articulating how he feels about them and coming to a new arrangement with you. I'm sure you probably noticed in your editing but at 8:45 there's a lovely shot of Andy and the little girl next to him both enjoying the ride and exchanging glances, melts my heart. Keep up the great work and super videos.
8:20 "Getting back into the swing of things now" You're a Comedy Genius Kev
9.59 a most unfortunate wet patch
Matthew Crowther lol
Omggg
Oh my god hahaha
*WHEEZING*
XD i didn't notice until i saw ur comment LOOL
Well down Andy it must be a relief for you and Anna Kev just shows he can control himself a lot better and stop himself from having melt down so happy for you all
9:59 That's a very suspicious water stain! lol
Umm its sweat
@@ezioauditoredafirenze9249 Is it really? Wow, thank you for clearing that up for me. I had no idea. Amazed I went this far in life without never having sweated before...
"That was right in my ear!" Amy makes me laugh so much ahaha
Amy is such an amazing young lady! She is so sweet and patient with Andy.
I understand exactly what Andy is going through as I have aspergers. Been diagnosed with it now for about 5 years now. Not as severe as Andy but I want to say thank you for making these videos and thank you for making awareness.
I just wanted to thank you. I've watched many of your videos, and not only the passion that you exibit for you're son, but the humanity that you show for him touches me. I have autism spectrum disorder and I have seen hardships in my life that I know he doesn't have to face due to your support. Thank you, and keep up the great work!
Andy coped so well with all of the days challenges he has come such a long way since I first started watching the vlog (when Andy refused school) its amazing :-)
'Getting back in the swing of it' whilst stood in front of a swing ride; don't worry kev I get your dad jokes and I enjoy them :)
Andy in that photo on the ride was hilarious.
What a way to turn the day around! Could have gone a lot worse! Andy did well to turn it around.
I know this was 6 years ago and I know you don't reply gawd knows if you read but I love that you recognise how he feels and what he needs and that you commend him and everyone for how well they aall did. Some channel/familys seem to just be constantly annoyed and frustrated by the behaviour and have zero undersranding of the reasons. You are family done right 💪
I read everything! Thanks!
I have mild autism and ADHD I understand everything that goes on with Andy so it's really nice to find a RUclips channel like you guys because not a lot of people understand or autism actually means and it's good that you guys explain it
Well done Andy it’s great seeing how far he has come.
well done Andy you really coped with the rubbish situations well a lovely vlog and I cried with Anna it was so sweet Andys face was a picture when he saw the London eye. much love to you all x
I think Andy done absolutely amazing! Took our asder who’s 5 before you guys went and it was so hard don’t think we’ll go again anytime soon, was far to much for our little man. So I take my hat off to Andy and you guys ❤️ so glad I came across your channel!!
Well, I am glad everything worked out in the end! Andy is so handsome and hilarious! I love it! That was definitely HUGE that he got to see parts of London! I hope you all still had fun!
It breaks my heart to see andy upset or crying i hope hes doing well and coping with his meltdowns i wish the best to andy 😢👍
"HELLO OVER THERE!"
"that was right in my ear!" 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I really hope kev saying “he’s getting back into the swing of things” in front of that ride was deliberate because that was a great pun
I am autistic to and find your vlogs helpfull to me. We are getting into the swing of things points at the swings 😂. I am so glad I am early. Xxx
If you ever were to end up in holland with Andy we have something called “het spoorweg museum” here in Utrecht. it’s basically a museum full of trains an stuff like that. It’s quite interactive and really fun to go with kids. There’s also a couple of attractions. I think Andy would really like it!
I've always thought that Amy has been very good with Andy. Incredibly mature and understanding for someone of her age.
Yeah when I first watched this channel about 10 months ago I thought that she was older than andy
1:13 star trek😅
R/Wooosh
Ikr
That went straight over your head m8
Anonymous Timelord That was the joke...think that went RIGHT over Your Head. 😂
Anonymous Timelord I thought that
Hey! Ive heard that legoland has a newer sensory room/calm down space in one of their buildings at the park. I think you do need a specific accessibility pass, but im not sure. Just thought you could know for next time :)
They've been there in there latest trip
Great Vlog Kev Fun Day For All. Amy is A Awesome Sister So Understanding Of Andy And His Needs And Wants..
Wow Andy has come such a long way in such a short time he is so lucky to have such understand perinats 😀
Perinats?
13:16 lol the kid in the background just stuck his hand out and waved at the camera
If Andy likes trains then you might want to check out Nene Valley, i think there is a Thomas The Tank Engine event early in July. Plus there is a direct route into Peterborough.
We keep meaning to head over there, but because it's so close, we always put it off
Yeah there's also a Thomas land at Drayton park
I was behind Andy on the swing ride I broke my camera that day. well done Andy
BESTJEFFEVER29 Hudson was that u at 8:46

9:59 ... leakage🤣🤣
Watch the pirate stunt show! It's AMAZING!!!!
this brings back memories from 2008 when we flew to the UK for a holiday - we went and wet windy winters day and didnt have to line up for just about anything
11:24 that announcement used to really scare me when I was little!
8:26 "were just getting back into the swing of things" that is very punny friend very punny
Great video it was great to meet you as well (:
Thanks again for the fast passes and comics!
Thanks hopefully you can take Andy to London properly in the future as there are so may buses and tubes.
Subscribed @theme Park extreme
I’ve been there when I was about 3 or 4 , I can’t really remember what happened , but I really wanna go back because it’s changed a lot!

Good men yer selves
savannah Barr it’s good to see how people with autism cope and I’m extremely proud of Andy and it’s lovely to see autistic children aswell xxxx
Amazing work
I remember one time when I went to Edinburgh Zoo when I was 11, there was this road train that gives you a tour around the zoo, but the main part was closed off due to maintenance on the road and I kicked off and got upset because I wanted it to go around that area. I don't know why I did it though! lol😂
Sam Bee I’m in Edinburgh and I went to the zoo and there was no train
I went for my 18th and no train
Great job Andy !!! Andy's doing so so much better!!!
Do you use the disabled queue when at theme parks? I do because I get very nervous if I have time to think about how the ride might fail!!
Edit: not normally but yes for today! I hadn't watched the whole video before commenting! That'll teach me
Kev, just a tip, not sure if Andy would qualify given that he didnt for the ride access pass, but if youre considering getting Annual Passes again next year, you can get a Carer's Pass that has Andy's photo and name on, that allows anyone over the age of 14 to get in as long as hes there with you. Theyre also doing a new monthly system that works out less expensive.
Hi kev if you want to take andy on a short break some where near the sea you could go to parklands in hemby norfolk it has a miniture railway and is about five minutes from the beach my sister has downs syndrome and autism and she loves it
Bless Andy’s heart if it makes him feel better my Hogwarts shirt got wet yesterday my cousin did it I’m on vacation/holiday right now
If Andy likes getting his own pop, then maybe try Pizza Hut or even Nando’s! I’m autistic too and I know how annoying it is for you when it goes wrong so well done Andy you did brilliant!
well done andy ,every little thing is a celebration isn't it .a new word,a calm day out seeing a understanding of something ect 😘😘 how did andy do in mainstream school
13:19 that kid waving in the background
I live so close to legoland, I loved going there as a kid!:)

8:20 "swing of things"
"I need to furiously rub..." words cannot express how grateful I am that the next word was "Dave"... :p
I burst out laughing when Amy went “that was right in my ear!” Lmao
Amazing video! I recommend taking Andy to a beach with arcades or stuff.

1:12 YOU SAVAGE KEV 😂😂
Hope you had a great day! Have you guys been to Madame Tussaud’s? It’s great I went for my birthday yesterday and myself having autism found it great! I know I have completely different autism to him but I thought if you guys tried it out did he cope well or if you are going to try it out will you take Andy? I went to celebrate my birthday 🎁 I did have a few wobbles but what am I gonna do❤️ anyway hope you have a brilliant day!
STITCH OBSESSED same with me
They all have but not with Andy
STITCH OBSESSED ❤
We went to Madame Tussauds last year - there's a vlog about it on the channel somewhere.
What a fun video. My favorite part was how sweet Andy was by politely saying "No, thank you." To both offers of coming back and going on the London Eye 😂💛 You could tell he definitely didn't favor the idea but was incredibly kind about it.
Have you seen the pirate show at Lego land ?? I’m so proud or you Andy my brother is autistic and if that had happened he would have melted down straight away xx well done xx 💜💙
I know how hard it is for you to cope with meltdowns and Andy having Autism because my little brother has ADHD and deaf and when he doesn't get what he wants he goes in meltdown.
Trains go well with ASD/Autism because I like going trainspotting and suspected with ASD as well as my bro with ADHD
Did kevin really say for all your Star Trek fans and pointed at a star wars sign 🤦♂️
have u tried putting pictures of london and london landmarks around the house andy might ask to go there one day maybe?
Yeah - he watches loads of videos about London - he's obsessed with the London Eye. He's just got it in his head that he doesn't go there.
+Kevin Chapman it looked like he enjoyed going through there in the car, maybe he might go there one day.
Watching this brought many memories from my childhood and it made me a bit sad for Amy. This is coming from the perspective of a sister with a sibling with mental disability. We had a blended family like yours, where my brother is thei child from my stepmom. Like Andy he’d also have meltdowns etc. and my parents would always be a big on edge (even though they tried to hide their anxiety from us with awkward smiles) of whether he was going to break down. I remember feeling pushed aside bc all attention were on him and my parents (although not intentional and I know that they didn’t mean to do it) focused much of the trip about making him as comfortable as possible. My stepmom’s focus has always been on my brother which I was completely fine with and understood, we had a more “friend” dynamic relationship (we both considered ourselves family but we both understood I was not her daughter and she was not my mother if that makes any sense). So in a way these family events made me feel like an outsider. I was just there. Want to be clear that I knew and understood the situation and never complained and was actually happy to help/support my family as we tried to have a “normal” family day trip.
I’m not sure what I’m trying to say with this post but just a perspective from another child who comes from a family with a special needs kids.
I do worry about this with the girls sometimes. I think and hope that they're understanding.
Hi Kevin
You should go to flamingo land
Andy would love it at holland. There is lots of trams there. I went last year and it was amazing!
Yesterday I was at Chessington...I got sunburnt...
shoulda worn sun cream
That's the one park we haven't been to with our Merlin passes. Is it good?
@@kevinchapmanvlog yeah it is good, there's a mix of big rides and family rides
I love the title of this vid 😂😂
Hi guys.
Havent really watch any of your content in a while. lol But thats cool that you guy have like a legoland amusement park.
Welcome back!
I hope you guys know you can go through the disabled lines. My son does with Autism because its very hard for himto wait.
My dad was in the background and so was i . I showed this to him and he said he looked stupid lol
Kevin, I think you should come to king’s lynn and stay here and you could go to Hunstanton. I know you have already been to hunstanton but I think you should stay in kings lynn!
King’s Lynn is only about 45 minutes from where we live, we wouldn’t need to stay there
Kevin Chapman I know I’m just saying because I live there and would like to meet u! And u could just go there for the day or something
Loved the Vlog I want to come to London so bad I’m into the royal family and love them
Kayla Pugh in what way are you related ? And the British or U.S.?
Kayla Pugh z
I don't understand the star wars/star trek joke. Can anyone explain?
great video. Glad it was a successful day.
Holland is amazing Andy would really enjoy it
13:16 kids waving
Love your Vlogs Kev
You should take Andy to the DLR
Wow I just noticed you posted this on my birthday 😂
Yeah! Vlog time!
I went to Holland and I loved it there are double decker trains and loads to do
Amazing video 😃 keep it up 👍🏻
Great work Andy !!
U can get a thing for kids with autism
That u can skip ques and u get ten rides u can go start to the front it really helps u just show them
Prove at the park
I used to go there every single week with my friends I still have my pad but now I moved
Can't blame him for having a meltdown since it seems like everything that could go wrong did. That would be really frustrating for anyone.
Take him to the transport museum in Covent Garden he will really enjoy it !!!!!!!
He won’t go to London for some reason
HE SAID STAR TREK AND POINTED TO A STAR WARS SIGN!!!
dw I still love your vlogs
skull and sweet crazy Cooey that was the joke
Hi kev, Anna and Andy
I have so much respect for you
Loved this video ♥️♥️👌
I work in the hotel. I should have said! So sorry didn't think! The train is shut all year and bricks buffet doesn't open for lunch at all this year
It's a shame that they're the two bits he enjoyed the most last year! Why is the restaurant closed?
Kevin Chapman new managers trying to change up the hotel so it for people staying in the hotel only so bricks hasn't been open for lunch this season the amount of complaints we have had is silly
