thanks for the fast review on these chips
Quality videos all the time. Such an underrated you tube reviewer that should have more subscribers than 17k!
Thanks for the support mate.
This channel is great! I am very impressed at the production value of each video, especially considering that the channel has
Thanks my friend - really appreciate the kind words.
Nice. Very informative. Please do more.
Would be awesome with a clock for clock, single thread benchmark between all the different -E generations, 3930, 4930, 5930, 6950. For instance, all but 1 core disabled, locked to 4ghz. To see the IPC difference.
Thanks
With the I7 6700k having dropped in price, will it last me at least a few years? I plan on gaming and video editing with some CAD work.
$1600 for a 10 core? ill stick with my 5960x
It's equivalent to $2100 in the UK. The entire BW-E range is too expensive and offers nothing new, no increase in PCIe lanes, still the PCIe-crippled entry chip, limited oc'ing headroom which needs uber cooling, etc.
There's far more utility and value in a used 3930K, I bagged one last week for 94 UKP.
I got my 6900k up to 4.3GHz stable on all 8 cores about 1.29v. I'm very happy with the performance and stays at 40c under water.
I seriously only game but I still want one curse Intel for being so damned amazing
now all i need is a small lawn of a million dollars
EXCELLENT as always. SO glad Intel supplied you with review chips. You would think that Intel would have moderated the price to encourage more sales and wider adoption. I guess without the RED team throwing something into the ring, they will just "break our balls" on price.
Sadly, Intel didn't supply us yet again - so we had to go straight to plan B. Bit of a shambles tbh. Like you say - having a competitor is always a healthy thing and for end-users its in our best interest that AMD get their act together.
***** --> [unlocked] dedicated reviewer achievement.
We'll always find a way ;) It's gotta be done!
$1700..... AMD pls save us...
where full review of CPU's can be found?
Hi there - its here bit.ly/1VrclLF
Mate I got a 1080 recently what CPU do you recommend for that?? please help
i7 7700k
Sea Eeohh You've probably already bought it but if not don't buy a 7700k a 6700k performs the same by a few FPS less and is quite a bit cheaper
Thanks m8 ain't bought one yet so that's good to know cheers
i got the 6900k for $1066 on ebay, works great for me, but the overclocking is soo bad, you need 1.5v to run it at a 4.3, and i cant get it any higher than that
no you don't, i am running it at 4.3ghz at 1.23v on asus deluxe II and it is stable. Higher speeds are tricky, that is true.
idk if I should spend the money and buy a broadwell e cpu ( 6830k ) or just stick with buying the cheaper 6700k. all im really doing is gaming and idk if buying one of these beast will be just overkill. Im doing 4k and later on vr.
6700k has plenty of power for such tasks, including 4K and vr, what graphics card(s) are you going to be running?
+Bailey H 1080 classified. Im thinking about sli later on, but I honestly think one will do plenty.
+Beegee Banbury the 6700k would be perfect for that setup but if money isn't a big issue then you will gain slightly more performance from the 6830k.
I will stick with my 5960x overclock at 4.7ghz, thanks to 8pack.
would a dual socket motherboard be cheaper and more powerful than the 10 core cpu?
I don't think so, also not every application likes dual cpus configs
Camilo Martinez Aldaya thanks
Nope dual socket would be more powerful and way more expensive. Then again these 6900 CPU's cost almost as much as a good Xeon CPU so might as well go with one of those and get a dual socket if you are going to spend so much money! Not to mention the Xeon should be more reliable. Man sure miss the old days when Opteron CPU's were actually better than anything Intel was selling and there was actual competition and price drops :(
daviangel 6950 costs a lot too so xeons will be cheaper than one 6950 and more powerful?
2 x E5-2630-v4
should be in the same price but you need the dual socket mobo, and you get 20c 40t @3ghz aprox
You may need to sell an organ or two to afford these...........LOL
Apparently Intel increased the price to $1088 for the 8 core and $1723 for the 10 core just before dropping the NDA.. smh
They were like 2 times too expensive
I AM ZEN
handsome
i7-6900K makes the i7-6950X seem irrelevant, only a maximum of 5 - 10% increase for over $700 more...? No Thanks
Not to mention the fact that the 6900K surpasses the 5960X at the same price, however I believe Haswell-E and Skylake users should wait for Skylake-X and Kaby Lake-X in Q2 2017, if you're a Haswell, Ivy-Bridge-E, Ivy-Bridge etc. user then yes, this will be quite a large upgrade for you.
A large upgrade? I don't think so. An easily oc'd 3930K is faster than a stock 6850K. For anyone with SB/HW/IB, there's far more utility/value in a used SB-E/HW-E.
What if i not want to change the mobo next year? The price will be higher in total cuz it will be a new platform.
Im thinking upgrade from 5930K to 6900K, mine only can be oced to 4.4 and seems like even at 4.3 6900K will be better in all aspects.
No mate,6950x is +$1800 who can afford that? You have to be Donald Rump to afford it.
1700$ us if you buy 1000 of them that is.
So they would then be $1.7 each?! I wish :P
He is an Adam Jensen wannabe.
Secrectly buy AMD black then put an Intel crap sticker on so nobody has to know:)
