At 4:28 on a tv you can see a massive gar or a gator sink or swim off right in front of the paddle boarders. I can’t tell which. Pretty cool. I had to post from phone but only noticed because I watched it on tv.
The original pass in Destin was just to the east of the current location. A hurricane is what shifted it according to Tommy White. His father was Dr. White of White-Wilson Medical center and it was his family that donated the Ft. Walton Indian mound to the state. He also ran a dive shop in FWB and was quite knowledgeable about Walton County history.
LOL what did they find inside the Indian mound? Because you don't know it's an Indian Mound if you don't look Inside it.....could just be a pile/mound of dirt.....
Are there Gators in the Bay or any other dangerous creatures? I will be buying a home either on the Bay or on the Beach and wanting to learn the good and bad of the Bayfront. Do people water ski or swim in the Bay? Been to Destin and Miramar Beach twice and never saw a single pontoon or boat out on the water. They must all go to the ocean and Crab Island.....
you don't see too many gators on the bay, and when you do, they're usually up in the river mouth on the far east side... but of course, we've seen gators in the gulf too... there are also sharks in the bay, but again, they're also all over the gulf, all day, every day... we swim in the bay, fish, paddle, jetski, etc... LOTS of dolphins in the bay.. manatees from time to time, esp on the west end... we lived on the bay for 18 years, and can't recommend it enough
@@AroundTheWorldWeGo Thank you! The water in the Bay is dark and so You would never see anything approaching you it seems, from under water. I don't plan on ever swimming in the bay and I doubt my family would. We do like to fish and I love the Stand-up style jet ski which I will be buying after moving even though I am now 66. And depending on how crazy you get with them you will fall off now and then into the water. LOL
Great video that captures the beauty and uniqueness of the area!
Thank you! We are so glad you found it engaging. ❤️

@@2quick24 I understand the fear! it's not for everyone
