Great tutorial! Especially I like that you separate the colors to 3 steps : highligh, basecolor and shodow part and It's so easy to understand to color any object!
Luv your technique! Since my stroke, I got an iPad 11” to retrain myself to create art again. I can’t wait to try this technique!! Keep it up! You’ve inspired me.
I love this comment as much as I love this art it's so good to know that artists support artists!! and it's even more heartwarming since it's a fellow neuro victim I had a tia nov. 2019 and now I suffer from hemiplegic migraines and started creating again when I decided there's no way I could actually work somewhere normally again... I have found a love for digital art and someone asked me to do a picture of their dog I came across this and I love it I started reading comments and I see yours first truly touched my heart
@@TyraWashington thanks that was sweet. When you get older it’s sometimes harder to keep yourself relevant. I never want to be stagnant I always want to learn new things. I surprised my daughter last year when I knew who Lizzie was she said” who are you”. That was the best. Thanks again
Thanks so much! But it's actually much easier for me to draw the illustration and then record the voiceover later 😅 helps me focus on one thing at a time haha
Yorkies are the superior species. I have a yorkie and she is nothing but absolutely amazing and has brought so much comfort and happiness to my family. I truly believe she is an angel that god sent to us. We adopted her when she was 4 and now she’s 13
How are you dragging and dropping the color without closing the outline shape? When I drag and drop a color it's covering the entire canvas. The only way I can get it to drag and drop is if I outline an area completely and drop it inside the outline. It looks like you're just outlining part of it and then dropping the color in where you want it and it actually works but I can't figure out how you're doing it?
Believe me, I didn’t know how to draw a lot of things in digital art, and I learned a lot from, really. my drawings of people were horrible, but after watching your video, even in English, I managed to make a drawing of a Wue model was very beautiful, nor it seems that it was I who made it!! thank u soo much!❤️
@@TyraWashington after your tutorial I feel like I upraded the speed of my drawing and quality! I wish you tons of inspiration and growth to your channel
I swear I knew it was procreate from the thumbnail- but thank you so much ^^ I don't actually have an art iPad but this helped me somehow on my phone art app platform! Also I love your videos 😊 love this ✌
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I got Procreate specifically to draw our Yorkie Bentley to help me cope with his passing on June 19. I know how to draw and paint but was very intimidated with the program, as I’m still learning it.
Sorry for the late response! But I used the "script" brush at a really small size so i could draw in all the details.. You may also like the "syrup" brush as well!
Hello, this tutorial is awesome! Ty! I’ve watched this videos over a hundred times! Lol I’m trying to make my labradoodle look cute but honestly I’m not a good artist. Hi Tyra! Question when you draw the fur around the nose. You don’t close the lines (they are closed against the nose). I watched your other video on colour fill but it says to close the lines. Thanks for any help! I have watched this (and many of your videos) 100x
Great question! Even tho it looks like I’m not closing the lines around the nose, I am! You just can’t see it because it’s stacked underneath the shape of nose. Thanks for your question
I actually don't think you can export SVGs from Procreate.. But I could definitely show how to create an SVG in design programs like Adobe Fresco and Adobe Illustrator
Hi, I loved your video. I am wondering what size canvas you used? I tried drawing but it came out super small and grainy… I cropped it at the end, but wondering what the correct canvas size to use is?
Oh wow! Sorry I missed your question! 😅 Procreate actually has a few different brushes for hair! Just go to the "Touchups" brush group and you'll find a few different options for human hair!

Thank you for this tutorial. I have one question. If I want to do this to out on a poster how do I prevent the pixels? I mean you can se all the little squares if you look closely. How do I make i more neat?
If you want to create vector-based art (meaning you can scale the artwork infinitely without losing quality) then I would recommend Adobe Fresco. It's still an iPad drawing app. But it allows you to create vector art.
You can set the DPI (dots per inch) up from 150 (fine for web) to 300 (high-resolution print). That will up the quality of your work. The option can be found when you make a new canvas.
Great tutorial Apart from saving as jpeg. You lose so much detail, it’s a lossless file. You should always save it as either a PDF or PNG to preserve the quality.
Hi! Great video thanks! Just wondering if I were create images on procreate and save as jpeg, what would the pixel quality be like if I wanted to sell A4 to A2 images as a digital print purchase? Can I enlarge the image on illustrator or photoshop and keep the same quality or is there a special way to enlarge the canvas on procreate? Thanks!
Hi! I used the script brush, which is in the calligraphy brush group. I used this brush at a small size to draw in all the details... You might also like the "syrup" brush, which can be found in the inking brush group. I hope this helps!
@@TyraWashington yes thanks! I tried the syrup brush and I really do like it. Only the beginning of the line is still very thick and only the end will get sharp, do you know how to fix this maybe?
