  • My race view of the Beckley WV Mountaineer GNCC at the Bechtel Summit Reserve. I am riding the Open A class in the PM bike race. The track was awesome with technical sections and lots of rocks.

    At 3:52 it doesn't look graceful but what a good job of just staying on the bike and not going down by the 125 rider. We've all been there. Your heart is in your throat and your usually so "off" once you have a near crash like that. Definitely gets the heart going until you work through it. Probably happened so many times that day with all those rocks.

    Damn bro you were riding so well too! The last race I did 3 years ago(I just got another dirt bike that i am prepping to race again next month), It was my best race to date and I was running between 3rd and 6th place out of 35 or so. 7th lap, my shift shaft stripped and my bike was stuck in 3rd... I didn't finish the lap and still got 16th somehow. So I feel your pain man! It was an NECXC race btw. It was High Point

    I deflected off a muddy rock and stuck my leg out at a hare scramble last year. My heal clipped a rock, shoving my tibia into my femur. Tibia lost. Cracked the tibial crown where the ACL connects. Was very lucky it wasn't a displaced fracture as it would have taken my ACL with it. Careful out there my friend.

    Good race man, sucks what happened to your peg..
    Question for you, I noticed your not on a TPI... what happened with that, and which husky model is this one?

    • @NoahClarkFitness
      @NoahClarkFitness  4 года назад

      This one is the regular tx. The carb just revs a little cleaner versus the tpi sometimes can pop and be lean. It would be perfect for hard enduro or someone who never really revs though

    So seems like most guys are on 4 strokes at GNCC races ... do you think your 2 stroke was a bit of a disadvantage?

    • @toadamine
      @toadamine 4 года назад +3

      Big four strokes are an advantage on open fast tracks because more power and weight means better stability and power at speed... two strokes are an advantage on tighter more technical courses because they're lighter, dont stall as easily, and start easier when stalled and just generally easier to ride when the going gets nasty...

    • @KosmicHRTRacingTeam
      @KosmicHRTRacingTeam 4 года назад

      toadamine So ideally on more open stuff the 4t is better and super tight the 2t, On this course which one would have advantage?

    I like the more technical lower speed courses like this one. I’ll bet it requires more concentration so it probably is more satisfying to navigate it well. Plus it’s a little safer having the lower average speeds I would think.

    When you fill the tank fast like that, it pushes too much fuel into the carb, flooding it. That's why you bogged coming out of the pits. Next time, turn the petcock to off when filling, then back to on after.
