AFM/DOD needs to be subject of recall on these engines!!! GM is aware of this & pretends it isn't a problem! Damn shame Texas Speed is making better parts for these engines than gm
@@carltonp420if you are agreeing with my original comment, samehere. im the type that if the oil change is recommended at 7k miles ill just go ahead and do it at 5k. people dont realise how fast oil loses viscosity with all that stop and go traffice for example.
Someone I know bought a 6.2 and when he first got it he told me matter of fact it didn't have Active Fuel Management. But it not only has AFM but also 17 firing orders, and DI. And it might get better mileage than something from a competitor but I would only buy anything it comes in at the scrap price IF the vehicle is in new condition. And that tells anyone I don't want anything to do with one. Ford 6.2 didn't have all that bling and don't have that much torque or gas mileage but they'll last 500,000 miles and I know some with 600,000. GM would have to go back in years to find stuff that will last that long. Duramax isn't too bad or I don't think they're having a lot of issues. The 3/4 ton 6.6 liter is much better than the 6.2 but it's got some of the modern junk too so we'll just have to wait and see how long they last. But I remember the years when 8 or 9 round bales were towed with an inline 6 a 4 speed manual transmission and probably started with something like 4.56 or deeper gears. If you were in a big hurry you just left 5 minutes earlier but now people think they have to have near 500 pounds of torque in even a half ton and I know it's just not necessary for what modern half tons get used for. I've seen a loaded 18 wheeler full of beans get towed to pop the clutch speed with an old 82 Scottsdale 3/4 ton with a 350 and those didn't even have 300 pounds of torque. I've seen a 53 foot trailer behind a big sleeper cab get towed out of ice and snow and mud with just an 80's carbed V8 plain jane pickup and I've seen Ford 300 six cylinders pull 40,000 pounds regularly. And those things lasted and lasted and lasted. I'm just not impressed with these modern throwaway toys that cost half of the cost of a house that actually could hold it's value or even accrue. So you call it "Dynamic" instead of calling it Active even though it does the same thing.

The engine in video with the blue after market rocker arms is a windsor Ford.😀
I went with someone to buy a new 2010 Silverado with factory 6.2. Saying that it was introduced in 2014 does not check out.

Best engine 5.3
Why?
They’re literally the same engine. They have the same issues/reliability
They're gutless.
have over 200k on mine
It's the 0 weight oil folks....every manufacturer has current friction problems..10-30 minimum..believe it or pay
Stolen content
I think so too. stolen from I do Cars Channel, looks like his tools
Direct injection and AFM/DFM. Made this engine very unreliable. Eliminate those 2 design flaws. And it would be a great engine.
shame no factory catch can
