Let me tell you a story, I forgot to plug the drain plug, hull full of water, didn’t sink. I didn’t remember to retract the drain hose and turn on pump over night, deck full of water bath-topped, didn’t sink. Tubes are all leaked, didn’t sink. I was on 8 foot swell, didn’t sink. You would have to fulfill ALL of those condition to make it sink. RIB is just ultra safe. By the way my rib is over 20 years old military version. The 18 footer sometimes does 7 people fishing trip to the Channel Islands with no problem at all. 27 knots. Where else do I find a boat like this?
Yes! I just had some bad experiences with my rib that i wanted to share.. but you are definitely right! there is nothing safer out there than a rib... the redundancy built into those things is just insane!!
@@florianhoflehner2877 air keeps leaking slowly, fishing hook sometimes punctures the tube, space feels really small, not much storage, these are the main cons
So what 10 years? What did you expect. Regular Fiberglass boast leak water inside the hull at the seal area well in fact you can sink a fiberglass so easy if your pump fails your done
It depends on what you wanna do… if you like a lot of storage space i wouldn’t recommend it. But if you just like a safe and good performer to get into boating i can definitely recommend you to get started with a RIB! Best platform to start with.
Thank you Flo for your practical and useful insight into technical aspects from a user's point of view! 👍 Love to see more videos of that kind sharing your boating experience with us! 🚤
what you have bought is an inferior rib you really should have bought an AVON SEARIDER you also appear to have little practical experience every time you go out the more experience you will gain the comparison between your cabin cruiser and the RIB is worlds apart.

Fiberglass boats are moulded and sealed below the waterline. They don’t leak unless damaged
I had a question. I know there are lots of variables, yes or no: shoikd i buy a 11.5 foot r.i.b. as a first boat. Its a western marine hypalon?
