Bears interview 3 people, Carm: "THAT'S NOT ENOUGH!!!" Bears interview 12, Carm: "THAT'S TOO MANY!!" 😂 Folks, the NFL has rules on how to do interviews. The Bears are following and respecting those rules. When you interview multiple candidates, you get a broad view of your organizations faults. AND there are multiple candidates who are still in the playoffs and have limited interview time. This isn't like shopping at H&M. You can't just say "I want that!" Other than Vrabel which was obviously the Pats, who knows what these candidates actually want, who is their favorite, etc.
Yes we have a million candidates but the whole they’re not going after their guy right away angle is flawed. BJ most likely can’t even get hired until 2/10. Why would we put the blinders on if we can’t even hire him right away like the Pats COULD DO with vrabs. Why would we sit on our thumbs waiting for him to become hirable when we can interview (too many) candidates and maybe find a strong DC or OC along the way
Bears fans in the chats and comments are way too opinionated, so much so that they think they know better than literally everyone else. You can have an opinion without having to bash someone else for theirs. It's the internet effect. These people would never interact like this in real life.
The Bears have or have scheduled like 97 HC interviews and Carm is upset because they haven't talked to Deion too? Shit like this is why the HC interview list is so long.
I get it Hogue.. your take on Brady is probably the right one even though you glossed over Burrow’s big year happening ‘because’ of Brady rather than in spite of him.. as suggested by ‘everyone’ ‘forever’ saying Burrow was not much until that final year. But you had an important argument to make. Neither Brady or Sean McVay (when he was hired) would have scored well on your chart. No wait. You wanted him to look bad not good. It’s ok.. i get it and like your process. Very Bearsy. Sometimes you just gotta talk to the guy and get his vibes correctly. Somebody will be pleased you and the Bears will be going another direction.
Just because Coach Prime would be better than Ancient Pete or Big Mike doesn't mean he's actually a good option. To be honest, this has gotta be a tough time for the CHGO guys. They HAVE to talk about all these guys like they're real options when in reality they aren't stupid so they know Ben Johnson is the real candidate. Everyone else is leftovers since Vrabel got snatched. We're hiring Ben Johnson anyway so it doesn't matter.
Talented teams with good QB's have higher EPA's, so it makes sense that the Panther's EPA was so low. I think Joe Brady is a good OC and was scapegoated in Carolina. Ken Dorsey was a mess as OC. He just wanted to take deep shots with no easy answers if guys weren't open downfield or they needed to get the ball out quickly. Josh Allen was bottom of the league in YAC/Cmp with Dorsey and he's 3rd this year behind Goff and Lamar with Brady.
I appreciate everything you guys do but the endless crying about literally everything is just getting old. If they were to only interviewed four people, you’d all be screaming about how they’re making the same mistakes from last time. This coaching cycle really only has four elite candidates now that Vrabel is gone and the Bears have or will have interviewed every single one! What more do you want them to do? Their guy (Ben) is still in the playoffs. They literally can’t do anything more than what they have done. I understand the cynicism, but let it play out or just take a break.
I'm not really sure what you're talking about. Both Carm and I ended the show saying there were actually a lot of good coaching options this year and that's great for the Bears. Not sure what you're hearing but that's what was said.
@@BraggsInTheStands Thanks for the reply Braggs. Genuinely do appreciate all of your hard work. I heard what you both said (I believe Carm said something similar in the beginning). But I feel as if the focus the last few shows has been on them interviewing too many candidates and that’s somehow a bad thing. They’re in the process of gathering information. Not everyone interviewed is a serious candidate. That just isn’t something to wring your hands about imo. They’re waiting for their guy to be available. They can’t just sit on their hands the whole time right? I’m just confused at the vitriol toward the CURRENT process.
@jesserobertson3218 I think the only concern by casting such a wide net is falling in love they would've have otherwise as they did with Eberflus and Trestman. They have to be careful to not outsmart themselves. Outside of that, talk to whoever but the goal should be for the best. Not an exact science but the Bears haven't earned anyone's trust that their process is right. Last years offensive coordinator search being the most recent and relevant point to that. Hoping for the best. Still think they get Ben Johnson. But I'd be lying if I said i wasn't nervous

Dudes just an idiot that covers a team he hates but can’t find work anywhere else because people don’t take him serious so he’s stuck.
12 is too many. We night hiring a night shift and a day shift team here.
At the 17:02 mark, did Braggs say 'pregnant worm' during his ad read? 🤣

Thank you. These guys would be crying if they only interviewed four people. It’s just endless tears right now

Holly is RIGHT! This is a DIFFERENT NFL, need a MIND like Ben!
All those reasons Hoge outlined ware why I believe the Bears could hire Brady. Seems like he's right in their idea of a new head coach hire.

The constant bitching and complaining is getting fuggin old
We got all off season buddy. Strap in.
We hear their real thoughts at 54:00
Dion is lane kiffen. How’d that work out for the raiders
We should have known the Bears were never going to get their top 2 options. Vrabel- gone, Johnson- will be going to Vegas.

I like the Joe Brady option if Ben Johnson gets snatched, but I hope we just get Ben.

It would be entertaining, but we would definitely lose a lot more
Get this guy off the podcast fr Deon fr he’s out of his mind lol
This isn’t ESPN first take, I expect good takes not hot takes, that was just awful carm
I hate carm for some takes but chgo knows he can be a doofus
You gotta talk about something. I guess. I hope they all just want Ben Johnson like most of us.
Who ever wins the bears a super bowl will b just as big as Dallas. What happen last time we won a super bowl...............

Nobody could have been successful with those Carolina teams Brady had, ZERO talent.
