For the love of god, it's brutal. I started loving football during my first year of playing as a kid back in the summer of '86. My dad didn't have a team, so I fell in love with that team that my school bully was a fan of. That team with great defense, and the wide eyed middle linebacker, and the rotund guy with the gap in his teeth, and that cool QB who did wore shades, and my favorite player ever - the greatest RB of all time, and that cool coach we eats glass and nails, and that evil genius creating orchestrating a machine hell bent on destroying the soul of offenses. The team with the balls to make the Super Bowl Shuffle and then dominate the super bowl.
LITTLE DID I KNOW, I'd be setting myself up for years of this murky, odd, discomfort. This eternal confusion - the haze that surrounds this team, obfuscating the reality of what they are. And there's the poison we call hope, by god do we want hope. We're addicted to hope and it burns when it is stolen from our fan base again and again. We are in a maze covered in fog, trying to emulate what other teams have done to find themselves in the clearing, in the sun.
HOW ARE THE LIONS SO MUCH BETTER THAN US? HOW DID THE VIKINGS WIN 14 GAMES THIS YEAR? HOW ARE THE PACKERS ALWAYS GOOD AT QB? Damned if anybody at Halas Hall knows.
The Lions lost their whole defense and they're still plugging along. We lose Andrew Billings - our run stuffing meat monster - and our pass rush turns to garbage. Every injury was crippling to our team.
The Vikings won 14 games with Sam Darnold. Process that. That guy. They won 14 games with that guy at the helm. Sam Darnold. Noodle that, but not too long, cause the thought causes headaches.
The Packers made the playoffs with a team in diapers.
How the hell do we have a +8 turnover differential and yet still find a way to be 5-12. All but one of the other teams with a positive differential made the playoffs - the Bengals almost made the playoffs but came up just short.
Our team is a laughing stock. Papa Bear is rolling over in his grave. We'll hire hire Kafka and he'll suck like we figured he would or we'll hire Ben Johnson and he'll faceplant - but we'll lie to ourselves and each other about it. Some will hate whoever it is from the day he starts, others will give him a chance only to learn to hate him too. And he'll fail. That is the constant - we suck, we suck, we suck, something flukey happens and we're pushing like we might be good and we start buying in... and then we suck again. Lather, rinse, repeat. My favorite team does it to me again and again.
      Being a Bears fan sucks.

These two bobble heads in the morning are always finding ways to be negative. Just because you guys have been in town following sports for years, doesn’t make you right. No one in media has been a coach in the NFL. Just shut up and see Adar develops. McCarthy isn’t McVay or Shanahan, but he’s been battle tested and has run an NFL team. His numbers speak for themself. He knows how to run a locker room and expects his QB to understand football. Caleb needs a coach that will help him develop and understand the position. Mully and Haugh should stop pretending like they know what it takes.

In order to win SB… you have to get into playoffs and then get hot. So if you continue to get there you will breakthrough especially if you have a QB who can close out games and CW has that ability we’ve seen. Most coaches playoff stats are not really great except for say Bill.
If guys like Foles, Flacco, Eli can make that playoff run I think CW can if he gets enough shots in playoffs.

But to get outside of the “old school” narrative, we have to take a chance with a younger offensive guy. If Johnson or Brady are “all that”, sign em up. Lets go.

Ben Johnson has to be the guy. And if Poles believes the same, then we’re gonna have to wait. Even if it’s not BJ, Joe Brady, Monken, Kingsbury etc won’t be available till then either.

I look at the Bears Zoom list of candidates to call, Anthony Weaver-DC of the Dolphins? Did anyone watch the Dolphins and say, "man that defense is something else!" Drew Petzing-OC for Arizona?! This isn't American Idol try outs, what in the blue hell are they doing?! While they're wasting time on second tier candidates, the Patriots already hired Mike Vrabel. The Chargers last season in late November in the building narrowed it down to 2 guys-Vrabel and Harbaugh. They went with Harbaugh even though Vrabel interviewed very well with the Chargers.
The Bears list is too broad, they should've had it narrowed down already but in classic Bears fashion they're not moving their asses. They are going to lose out and I wouldn't be surprised if Ben Johnson lands with the Raiders if Tom Brady gets a hold of him. Everything with this organization is so backward assed.

Cause no one knows how good any of these coaches will be but McCarthy is a DAMN good coach it’s what the team needs my only fear is Caleb being developed properly who’d he bring in for the OC me personally I want Todd monken what he’s done for Lamar his experience with college & the NFL I think he’d do wonders for Caleb

You guys are completely missing the point George M said he takes responsibility for this season like he did for last season yet he does absolutely NOTHING to change when asked if he would adjust his management structure he said no we like what we have spoken like a 5-12 team. If he had any balls he would have said Poles your gone based on Poles hiring Flues taking 2 years to fire him and not fixing the O line and I think everybody who isn’t biased realizes CW was not talented enough to be the number one pick in the draft but the Bears obviously didn’t do their due diligence on Daniel’s or Penix and then let everyone know they were taking CW. If they had been quiet they could have traded the one for the two because Washington was taking JD for sure. But the biggest factor is the Bears are cheap. Flues was the lowest paid HC in the NFL; you zoom called your top HC choice in Rzabel while Kraft sent his private jet for him. People say the coach of ND but dude is making 7M this year and probably gets a raise so we ain’t getting him either.

Let us not waste this opportunity just because Warren and Poles are so enamored with their past histories? Get Johnson! Not Flores either!
