WCW made wrestling popular when everything around it seemed to be fading and lit the spark for sport to the point WWE needed to be better. WCW in a way saved professional wrestling.
If I ever had a Time Machine and gone Back in time. I would bring back the following. 1. WCW Monday Nitro, Saturday Night, Worldwide, The Main Event, Pro. 2. WWF SUNDAY NIGHT HEAT, SUPERSTARS, The Action Zone, Mania, Livewire, Saturday Morning Slam. 3. Old School Disney Channel Cartoons and Shows. 4. Old School Nickelodeon Cartoons and Shows. 5. Fox Kids Cartoons and Shows. 6. Kids WB Cartoons and Shows. 7. Old School PBS Shows. Etc. Etc.
It's crazy when you see that WCW had pretty much every big star in the business at one stage or another and yet they still managed to self destruct. Great tribute video though!
@@downnice95 Starrcade 98? I'd say Fingerpoke of Doom and the injuries of all the major Anti-NWO wrestlers except Ric Flair which made the NWO Elite storyline into a failure.
i loved watching the WWF during the 2000s when Triple H and stephanie mcmahon were in charge i love the ppvs with vince and dx and them all in vinces office waiting for their matches oh my god the memories 😢😭 its so nice to look back at the past and remember what a wonderful time we all had back then. RIP memories will live FOREVER in our hearts ❤
Great tribute. Thank you, man. I loved 90s' WCW, up until about the time of the NWO Wolfpack which only happened because they let the NWO get TOO big. Also, any of the stuff with Vince Russo I could leave. Loved to watch Rey Mysterio Jr., Chris and the Jericoholics, Sting's metamorphisis, the NWO's early days, DDP, the Harlem Heat, Ron Simmons, Wildman, Ric Flair, Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko, Chavo, Juventud, Ultimo Dragon, Great Muta, Madusa, Harlem Heat, The Steiners, all those guys.
its 1am I couldn't sleep so I just decided to watch wrestling videos which I ended up on this video, I haven't watched wrestling since about 2005 but I must say, perfect song and well made video for sure, I was living wrestling as a kid day and night... I was more of a WCW fan than WWF at the time but ill admit it dude you video made me cry :( so many good old memories that we will never witness again... I miss WCW allot, so many good wrestlers from cruiserweights to Giants... it made me emotional considering I've met a few of them and only to see them winding down for so many reason's its sad... I am human and wrestling from the mid 90's to about 2000 just gets to me, WCW was best I believe :)
I personally liked WCW before wwf, now WWE, stepped in the way and bought it. I dont see WCW as apart of wwe what so ever, wwe airs footage of it and slaps their logo on the bottom left hand corner. WWE has alot of history i'll give them that, but that's all they will ever be, history. people often say wwe is awesome, i mean at the current state its at right now, but what i think is that people often reflect on wwe's past, when they really need to look at the current product.
THANK YOU TO EVERY WCW SUPERSTAR EVERY WWF SUPERSTAR THANK YOU EVERY SUPERSTAR OF THE TERRITORY WRESTLING DAYS YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN WE LOVE YOU ALL
Says alot about a company when well over 20 years after it closed its door we still talk about whether its its greatest moments or its worst WCW is apart of the American canvas is amazing not bad for a company started by some good Ole Boys from The South
You never know, the wrestling business has always gone through cycles of popularity. Peaks and valleys, as a matter of fact with the rise of New Japan and the massive buzz around the Wrestlemania that just happened I'd say is now even more popular than it was even 5 years ago. Not at the level it was in the 90's but slowly increasing
@@wwefigures6362 it's ironic that 19 years later wrestling on USA Network and TNT are going head to head once again albeit on Wednesday Hopefully this is the beginning of a wrestling Renaissance
- No. No. No. If you cannot master one good video as this one, there is no reason for you to be saying the word cluttering. This is obviously his best..
Despite what people here say about the end of WCW from Russo to guaranteed contracts, the corporatocracy at Turner had much to do with it all. Thankfully Guy Evans' book provides more detail on the whole than what some pieces of mark literature ever could.
I know right! People blame Russo for killing WCW while in reality, he was able to boost the ratings of WCW in his first run. It was the AOL/Turner Merger that indirectly led to it's demise.
In many ways, yes. Unfortunately, the main demographics of WWE these days - the little kids who think it's real, and the IWC nerds who want it to be real - seem determined to fight anyone who tells them that. :-(
It's better to watch 40 yo wrestlers I feel that they are real and classic and they make the show awesome not silly like wwe boys nowadays who have no attitude and no great personas
@giantjames2 not sure if you still reading these comments but, GREAT tribute. Wish you'd make these again. I dont watch the new wrestling at all, not sure if you do either, but maybe an AEW tribute would get me interested? ;)
You know don't take this the wrong way that was a awesome tribute but I would not include 2000 and the Vince Russo because Vince Russo is what killed WCW I just would not included 2000 and Vince Russo but other than that the tribute was awesome
I also disliked the Vince Russo era of WCW however the intention of my video was to show the entire rise and fall of the company and all of the best and worst that they had to offer. I want fans of all eras to have something to enjoy as well as show their history, blemishes and all. No disrespect taken, thank you for the comment
I'd have to disagree, James's best video is Undertaker for whom the bell tolls, I really think this is good but I know him and this isn't his best, but it's still amazing

"flew to close to the sun" they were doomed from the beginning but when they were at their highest peak man... glorious
It's mainly because of the AOL/Turner Merger.
The higher ups wanted to get rid of wrestling.
