1099 with more storage, oled display, keyboard included sounds like a great deal. And the ports, wish the pro tablets like the ipad or samsung tab had two usb ports like this.
I was about to get the new Samsung tab s10 ultra, until I saw this. Looked it up found an open box brand new on Best Buy went over and picked it up it's pretty sweet no regrets so far.
I'm actually surprised that there aren't more manufacturers going after this form factor. It's not really hard to beat the Surface Pro considering how expensive and poor value it is. It's actually unlike Asus to make that much sense in a product. I keep reading the specs but I still haven't found the deal breaker. Well the two main issues are the absence of a headphone jack and the poor performance, especially in gaming. Even Android tablets seem to perform better.
yeah it makes me mad lol, i want to buy a surface pro alternative so bad, hardly anyone makes them though, the major PC manufacturers make random ones here and there throughout the years but they should all have a continuous series like the surface pro has been with annual refreshes, and i don't want to consider any of the ones from china like the minisforum v3
Minisforum v3 is less with an 8840u, 32gb, and 165hz and full SD reader. 2.5k. not OLED and less battery. But i have to agree, 90hz at minimum would've been nice.
Excellent review style short and precise, straight to the point, good information, everything I needed to know right away to make an informed decision, key info I needed to know, 3k display , difference between plus vs elite processor, you gave me all the exact info I was looking for in a rapid fire format good job. This is perfect for me, I am looking for portability, good battery life, oled, 3k sharpness, and color accuracy. I mostly watch movies so I don’t need a permanent keyboard, instead the back cover prop up is perfect. This seems like the device I been waiting for 💯
That's a beautiful tablet. The ASUS ProArt line is top notch (I have their 27" 1440p monitor), and I think that tablet is definitely worth the extra $100 over the Surface (and I'm a fan of the Surface line too). Thanks for the review.
I am phd student. Most of my work flows around working with VSCODE, Microsoft apps, zoom meetings, taking notes in lectures and watching videos on RUclips. So do you think i should go for asus or surface (for the x elite processor)?
All applications would run well on both. If you need your camera ON with those zoom meetings I would recommend surface, they've got much better web cam. If appearance in your meetings aren't that important, go for PZ13. You would get better specs at the same price range compared to surface.
Tablet PCs are poised to be the next revolution in laptops. Many people will transition to tablet PCs if they become suitable replacements for laptops. Portability is key here, as they can function both as a tablet and a laptop. For the average user, this presents an excellent option.
ahh it starts at 1600USD where I am while the lcd surface starts at 1150USD, I dont get the massive price jump??? the asus costs as much as the base X Elite OLED surface??
Thanks for this content! What is confusing is that now I think X Plus is an 8 CORE chip but actually on release it was 10 CORES (I think!) so I have the Surface Pro X Plus which I think is that first batch of chips with 10 cores which was comparable to some Elite variants... The consumer won't get that at all probably.... Maybe the difference is negligible?
Why do Asus need to have two versions of the same software (armory crate vs creator hub). Just keep the cleaner hub, rebrand to Asus CC and done. Just because I game doesnt mean I want a more cluttered and color-spitting interface. And also; how does the PZ13 get a full size SD slot, but the PX13 doesnt?!?
Creator hub would be nice for everything = ) But i guess its not "gamery enough. I think the PZ13 is a rebrand of the flow Z13 which had one and the PX13 is just the Flow X13 which didnt have one.
@@MatthewMoniz Spiritually yes those are the predecessors. However the chassi and PCB designs are completely new, so there is no logic that would be the reason. MacBooks are not OLED though. They are Mini-LED. Most OLED laptops can't push more than 500 nits at the moment. Even TVS that are not QD-OLED don't get that bright. The most I believe is the surface pro which can do around 900 nits peak brightness. Laptops will require either going QD-OLED or using some sort of Tandem OLED design. The dell xps 13 has a tandem oled display but it doesn't get as bright as the Surface Pro OLED.
you are looking at the wrong measurements, the 4500 nits peak is on a tiny spot on the screen at best - the 500 nits measurement here is from a standardized test pattern which is much bigger. The 1600 nits is more approachable on mini led, but OLED is lagging as a whole, Apple has its tandem OLED where they stack panels to get more brightness but even then they limit it quite a bit. you need to understand what's marketing and what is real world performance but overall yeah I do want brighter displays, though OLEDs look brighter than LCD displays even if they achieve the same level of brightness in a pattern test, the contrast just makes it much better and again small highlights will be brighter since its a smaller spot on the display
AMD with its HX series AI 370 at 25 Watts is performing better than Snapdragon and even Intel Chips is really significant. Plus, with a dedicated NPU of 50 TOPS, it is pretty good of an option for Qualcomm to worry about. Do, you think so, Matthew?
