I got to weeki wachee atleast 3 times a month and I launch at Roger’s park .. there is a kayak rental place across from the park and it’s $40 all day .. I bring my own kayak though , and I get there super early
Great video! Great music too! We visit the Tampa bay beaches every year. Our favorite is treasure island. We have been to weeki wachee and loved it there. The water is so beautiful!
Great video! I’m so bummed out they shortened the route and they banned swimming. I have fond memories of enjoying the 7 miles and swimming and snorkeling. But anyways… so, are there employees that direct you when to stop or is there a cut off before Buccaneer Bay?
Thank you so much for watching! I'm bummed, too. It's still a great experience, but I miss getting out and swimming. There is a little area where they'll be just kind of waiting for you along the river. We spotted them pretty easily but they're always looking out, so they won't let you pass. If you're a pretty good paddler, you could also rent from the Kayak Shack (located across from Rogers Park). It involves paddling against the current to get to the beautiful blue water (you probably remember the last little bit at the end of paddling when it was 7 miles long). At the Kayak Shack, you can take the kayak as long as you want and part of that will also be outside of the state park so that you can get out and swim/snorkel. Some find paddling against the current easier to do than others - I haven't actually done it yet but hope to do it soon!
Yeah but I believe you have to launch from a different spot. If you bring your own kayak you get to do the entire of the spring. Rented kayaks only do 2-3 miles from end to end.
Is it safe to swim in springs water? I worry about bacterias but I think they’re so lovely and beautiful and have always wanted to go. But afraid for my kids.
Totally safe! If you rent kayaks through the state park, they do not allow you to swim anymore so if you do want to swim, you'll need to rent from a private company where you're paddling outside of the state park limits 😊
Sorry you didn't like it! Everyone has different preferences, so I know our videos won't be for everyone. I personally don't like watching videos that are just a montage of scenery because I don't find them helpful when I am planning my own trips. In the future, you can mute the videos if you'd rather just look at the scenery. There is a button on the bottom of your screen to do that. Hope that's helpful!
I had the pleasure of doing the trip in mid April 2023. It looks so beautiful it feels like a Disney set for some jungle story movie.
Incredible

How much it cost to get into the B Bay?
It's not we key, it's wiki like Wikipedia
I did not know that! Obviously 😉... thank you!
Too many people. Everybody ruined it.
Too much repeated information and talk. Just show the scenery.
